  1. We might want to have the bucks a couple of weeks before the wedding, so he is recovered or back in time.
  2. Bonkers I was gunna hit her up, lucky i didn't. Jokes I congratulate Dan and pity Jody
  3. I tell you a little story, i wake up wednesday morning to a SMS from Dan, it says "I no longer have a girlfriend" Being 5.30 in the morning, i'm not at my brightest, i think shit Dan broke up with Jody. so i send something along the lines of "You serious? Are you ok dan?" He sends back. "I now have a fiancee" I send back "Congrats Asshole" Congratulations Dan and Jody, you couldn't find a better couple.
  4. I got pulled over and sent to the pits. No defects no fines
  5. A friends porsche 930, sooooo much lag it wasn't funny, then squat, then gone
  6. Stewart Wilkins Rally, and they will probably refer you onto Phil Ryal
  7. Like Judd said, Gilmer drives are machined pulleys that are toothed (think RB cam gears) to run a toothed belt (think cam belt), instead of a V belt. They are usually used in high revving applications or applications that run external oil pumps, superchargers and mechanical injection. A side effect is the high pitch whine, which is very annoying.
  8. The magazine is ok, but i find the photography awesome.
  9. Due to other projects, i wish to sell my beloved 1600. I have owned this car for over 5 years and spent way too much on it. SR20DET built forgies, cams etc, less than 5000kms 5 speed rebuilt last november R200 LSD also rebuilt last november EMS QI4, tuned by V&E Rigoli 260rwhp Full autometer guages Massive Intercooler and oil cooler Full alarm Easy 12 second car Proven street/race car, used to be my daily driver, until i changed jobs to work in the city, so i now catch the train, the car now travels less than 5000kms a year easy. Basically i'm over it and i would like it gone. I'm not desperate to sell, so in short if you shit me i'll keep it. PIC : http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/viewto...0&forum=1#13716 Contact via pm or email Thanks Rhys P.S. I forgot, Rego is due on the 28th of March, so i will put rego on it before it sells P.S.S. A fair few members on this forum have seen this car in action. Ask Majanal, Bonkers, Buster, Benm to name a few.
  10. People, I was a mechanic, so i can offer my services, i will lend a hand, as long as it's nothing major like cambelts, waterpumps etc. Rhys
  11. These seem to be in demand at the moment, so i'll let the set i have go to a good home 1 set of R32 GTR BOV's on the relevant pipe work, have been tested $200 ono Can send pics to email Thanks Rhys
  12. He could be running 22psi, whether of not it is benifitical is a different story. I don't know where the boost cut is on the MY04, but i have seen my brothers (standard with full exhaust that's it) spike to 19psi.
  13. Ben I missed you again, yeah a distinct lack in skylines, a few silvias though. I got there late and had about a 1km walk to the front gate. Benny did you see that tool in DR VN ran a 16.1, how funny is that?
  14. Pull your pants up and leave the wheel alone.
  15. It's 40 to enter 15 to watch
  16. I bet his mum tells him he's special
  17. Benny and I caught up at the end of the night and had a bit of a bitch/review of the situation. With the $30 entry fee they gave you a free magazine, which was a good idea as the were massive delays and the magazine was read cover to cover. I got there at about 5 and there was not a single run to at least 6.15. As ben said the street meets were run alot better. But bear in mind fellas that this was there first shot at it at the new strip and in sydney so like the shows they will hopefully get better. I remember going to the first Autosalon (showing my age) at the horden pav and it was shit but now look at the series, its international. Even though the cars aren't always my cup of tea the shows are entertaining. oh yeah 2rismo i caught a couple of your runs, very impressive mate.
  18. Ok, it can be done for that budget but it's going to be a bit of a mission. What model 351 is it? As for lowering the compression they run mild compression anyway (remember they had to run on shit fuel, usually around 8:1 to 9:1), do a leak down test to assess the condition of the motor. To do this in the budget you will have to be a fairly keen fabricator or no some one. It can be still be carby (blow through for simplicity sake) as injection blows the budget. The carby will need to be modified to accept boost, this can be done cheaply by any able carby shop. Holley, weber and dellorto off the top of my head have standard carbies that will take boost. For simplicity sake i would use a modified holley. You will need to change from a mechanical fuel pump to a electronic low pressure pump with a suited regulator. Spark side i would recommend going electronic with mechancial advance disabled (if that model has it) One turbo or two, can be done either way. i would go something of a decent size say a TO4E, whatever you can get used that is in good condition, maybe try a truck wreckers. Forget roller bearings and something new as it blows the budget. Now for manifolding, what car is it in? Usually i would mount the turbo on the passenger side and use a balance pipe from the drivers side manifold to the exhaust housing flange. To do this i woud reverse the exhaust manifolds 180 degrees. Then every tihng is facing foward. Before you go any further you need to make sure you can access the sparkplugs. Now you need to lasercut you turbos flange and fabricate the manifolds with accosiated pipe work. Passenger side manifold with turbo flange, drivers side with cross over pipe to other side. Then you need to fabricate the pipe work to the carb, usually i would recommend that you have to carby boxed, like an airbox with the inlet letting in boost instead. This airbox (needs to be steel) needs to allow for carby backfires so you need something like an overboost valve (like the old FJ20's). Finally you need to fabricate a dump pipe and then an exhaust, now i said to mount it on the passnger side to avoid brake booster and steering box/rack so this should be fairly simple. Then you need to run an oil return line to the sump and locate a point to get oil supply from. Water supply and return ( if needed most truck turbos are oil colled only) are a lot easier. Now the is just how i would do it, note i haven't gone in to boost regulation, tuning etc. Blow through elimates the use of such things as BOV's and intercoolers so it is primarily a low boost set up. I thought about doing this to another project i had in mind, and i put it into the too hard basket. It's alot of work and hassle, but it's possible
  19. I just had mine done today Firstly, thanks heaps for setting this up Brendan. The tint looks tops and Robert is a champ.
  20. Blowing out the dipstick, indicates compression "blowing by" the rings and pressurising the sump. This leads to blowing out the dipstick. I think you have either done a piston(s) or rings, either way you are a champion.
  21. As suggested before fit a transcooler, preferably front mounted, maybe where the original intercooler sits, depending on your plumbing. Also have the transmission serviced. At my old work they had a flush machine where about 15 litres of ATF was pumped through the transmission. This helps preserve longevity of the transmission. If it lets go, get it built with a small converter (something around 2500 -3000 rpm).
  22. I thought supras were simultaneously turbochrged not sequential?
  23. I'd love to work that close to home like i used to, but what i do is done in the city. As much as it sucks i have to work.
