  1. Dunc, If you want DVD's i have a heap of drift stuff (ask Dan). PM me Rhys
  2. You wouldn't happen to be a bit biased would you Toby? Is that your GTT that makes a appearance in the video?
  3. Yes i've got it, Majanals car from the forums makes a brief appearence. I think it's taken too long to make and leaving the DVD outdated. My verdict buy BMI the GTR edition, it got released the same day and it's much better.
  4. And to the victor goes the spoils, Dan Mackie taking home the gold medal, the much sought after dollar coin. Nice work Dan!
  5. Must i remind you people that sex is always better when someone else is there.
  6. Here's a pic of me i found, what a nasty looking noggin. http://www.hioctane.com.au/photos/0904042/...es/DSC02299.htm
  7. Benny, you know me i appreciated the attention, even though it was from my keys. B-man, who needs traction? Also that's japanese racing brown my friend SLY33, is was the fat kid who stuck my head in your window before you left. As for the 14/4 i have pulled out of racing, but i will be attending as majanals spiritual adviser.
  8. Best was a 13.4 at 107mph. 2.5 60 foot time Keys flew out and hit me in the nuts, which didn't help. Couldn't hook up at all.
  9. I raced, i also had a brief chat to you SLY33. 3 runs in six hours, got the shits went home.
  10. I've got a set in Sydney for sale, no return pipe though.
  11. I'll be racing, soft launches as my driveshafts aren't finished and i will be on (shitty) street rubber.
  12. Awesome as per usual Andrew, maybe we have become too used to your high standard.
  13. Simon, I always knew dan and yourself were keeping something from me, and now i know what or shall i say who it is. Coming to the engagement party is she? Oh yeah count me in for a vote. Rhys
  14. Exactly, car people are meticulous when it comes to maintence. A large percentage of MX5 owners (the relevant target audience) would check the water level as they are enthusiasts. On the other hand there is the hairdresser element of the market share, who only put petrol and air fresheners in the car. If it was tuned to run water injection and it ran out we would be in trouble, but if the water injection was there just to add a safety buffer (like it is on my car) it would fine.
  15. Firstly, i apologise for my short replies as i am at work, thus not having much time to reply indepth. What we were doing was determining whether water injection was a viable option with the turbo MX5 SP program. This has various factors such as whether or not it is warrantable and just simply how much water would be used, to determine how big the tank needed to be. The DIY water injection and fuel testing was carried out on a different vehicle with 11.5:1 compression. This was also done to see if it was viable and warrantable. Whether it was 98 ron only or it was able to use regular ULP and water injection. As for failsafe measures these were taken into an account and the manufacturer of the valve admitted to having a faulty batch. We dropped their support for the project after that and other quality and supply problems. My first and final (boosted) setup was a tank in the boot, internally baffled capacity was around 8 litres from memory. Attached to the tank was a pump, similar to that of a bilge/marine pump supplying about 4 litres a minute, this gave excellent line pressure. This was controlled by a hobbs pressure switch which was activated at 6psi (there was also a switch in cabin to turn the unit on). Then up to the actual nozzle which was a brass fitting which was modified by hand until the desired spray was achieved. The idea of water injection was then canned by the manager of the program and so then we tried water/air and air/air intercoolers, eventually the program went for air/air. And this was the warrantable product that was sold.
  16. Meshmesh, not a contradiction i was just suggesting that if you were to travel that path, i would suggest the aquamist unit as it is the best unit i have seen. SkylineGeoff, i do have extensive experience with water injection, around 7 years worth. I experimented with making my own kit, which worked quick well in a high compression, naturally aspirated application. I also used that project to do research on octane levels and knock levels of various fuels aswell. This was with Mazda Motorsport in the late nineties. This is when we were developing the turbo kits for the MX5's after the SP program shut down. These are opinions i was merely playing devils advocate and pointing out the worse possible scenario. An instance i can remeber clearly is when the one valve in the feed lined collasped and as the car was parked on a hill overnight (i live in the mountains) the valve leaked water into the bore and in the morning, when the car kicked over the water did not compress and one rod was bent. Mazda's money no mine. This is a instance people need to be made aware of.
  17. The negatives of water injection far out weigh the positives. In short water does not compress, which can lead to hydraulic failure or bent rod(s). Just tune or build your motor properly, water injection is a bandaid solution. It was used in aircraft in world war 2 and that's where it should stay. It is a waste of time and money. On a positive note the aquamist system is the best i've seen. Edit : Can't spell, it's monday
  18. My dad (he is 54 btw) and i are watching TV when the ENIX ad comes on. Pete : Hey Rhys (me) what are they? Rhys : They're called spinners pete Pete : Spinners are gay. I piss myself laughing and walk off.
  19. And what about the courier service boys? City to Bullaburra overnight, that's alright.
  20. Everything on this car is legit, engineering and insurable. I got sent over the RTA pits in Penrith on thursday night and drove away fine and defect free. I live in Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains, but i can meet you somewhere.
  21. Hey Dan, if you're short of wedding cars, we can paint the Datsun, BYO pressure pack.
