All oil coolers can use a thermostat... You simply need to purchase one if it's not supplied. All it really is, is a temp sensor and a couple of valves. If temp = x or >x degrees then open (varies on temp of oil to allow y amount of flow through to the cooler), If temp = <x degrees then bypass cooler (NOTE: this is not a 100% bypass cooler as usually somewhere in the region of 90% of the oil bypasses the cooler, but the remaining percentage flows to the cooler to keep total system pressure)... But anywho... answer is No, not correct. Cut braided lines insert thermostat (in-line) and enjoy keeping your oil at operating temps.

I will be installing my new Just Jap 25 row oil cooler into the front guard position, which seems to be the most common... I have a stock front bar, so here's hoping all goes well and I will update with pics and possibly a tech article if it's called for??

My attempt... I like the drift monkey... but Copyright??? Thoughts? Cheers, Grant

D'oh... should check this more often... Need to shread some tyres BADLY!! Well... I will come out to spectate FMIC still in the room, but show my support for the day Cheers...

Identifying Codes On Gearbox?
QUIKBLADE replied to QUIKBLADE's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well Cool.. thanks Big Sully.. I checked and she looks like an RB20DET slave cylinder... Also, where the hell is the filler plug on an RB20DET box?? -
Grey(?) R32 GTR - Blitz gold rims - BIG FMIC - Brembos Filling up on Canterbury Rd (?) Shell Station Liverpool about 12pm today... I was in the Autostyle Cefiro ????????

Ya, as fatz said, no such thing yet... Think I got my info from the M7 website... www.roam.com.au

Best bet to plug the hole is take the pipe to Repco or similar and get a welch plug to fit snug, and clamp it in. IMO, don't do anything dodgy when talking about you engine dude... for example, if the think you plug it with is plastic or whatever and gets heated, sucked in to the inlet and then into your turbo... well... you get the idea. Just a side note:: Also adding a VTA BOV to a MAF system... well, look for some new spark plugs as well, to replace the fouled ones... or perhaps a tune? Cheers.

I've read the other thread here stating "what's the best cooler"... but I'm asking for the more technically inclined minds... FOr my car should I go for the 100mm core or for a 76-8 mm core? Engine Mods as follows: RB20DET stroked to 2.4 litres RHC6 turbo (500HP rating) 440cc GTR injectors GTR fuel pump External Gate 3 inch Reinhard exhaust HKS Pod filter... Need the FMIC ASAP... What's the thinking? Thanks Grant

Linky Linky for sliding performance fibreglass ones... http://www.slidingperformance.com/catalog/...products_id=233 AND http://www.slidingperformance.com/catalog/...products_id=234

OR www.slidingperformance.com.au do fibreglass vented bonnets (2 styles) for Cefiro, considering Carbon Fibre ones are illegal : And they are aussie...

My way is apparently the correct way of hooking up a Catch can setup... basically to not pressurise the system... Although I can still see a stack of oil in the return pipes... Go Figure... I take it you have a GTS-t as oppose to a GTS which you stated...?... Yeah I had to draw a diagram for myself... but I don't see why that wouldn't work... Basically you have turbo cam breather inlet blocked... and both cam breather "outlets" T'd into 1 hose which will then go to the catch can... then on the other side of the catch can comes a hose to the plenum... yeah sounds, like a solid idea. Sorry for a late reply.

Cefiro, Hks 2530, Nismo, For Sale
QUIKBLADE replied to rhiga's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Probably got defected cuz it has a Silvia Centre Panel (bit between lights!!!) Dude.... that's not right... it's a Skyline!! HAHA... bump -
I have a Cefiro, that has had a 5 Speed manual conversion... Still an RB20DET engine. I'm trying to figure out what gearbox it has, eg: R32GTS(-T -R), R33 GTS(-T)? My question is there anyway to identify which type of car each specific gearbox came from from the above example? EG: model/part number on the gearbox or similar...???? Clutch may need replacement so, kinda need to know Kind Regards.
-
If going for Aftermarket goto Reinhard they make a specific Cefiro front pipe. (www.hipowerracing.com - Contact Ivan). Any FMIC cooler will fit with enough cutting and shutting of the front bar... if talking about piping, the R32 piping needs to be cut slightly. EG: Pipe which goes across the front of the engine and then joined with a silicon pipe for example. ALSO>>> Hand brake cable? Part No.? Alternative car for straight fit?...
-
OK... Drift Pig... Then you want: Height Adjustable Coil-Overs, Brake Pad upgrades, good handbrake cable, spare tyres and track time. You don't need power to drift mate, you need skillz! IF money allows, exhaust, pod, and 2 way lsd. AND "The Drift King's" - The Drift Bible DVD.

How To Bleed The Clutch? Help Plz
QUIKBLADE replied to tdr's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah I'd say so... The clutch master cylinder for the GTR should be at the right of the Brake Master Cylinder... has a small filler container eg: same as the BMC but smaller Bleed and fill, bleed and fill. -
Although I haven't even looked... But I imagine it would be similar (?) I have a Cefiro eg: R32GTST running gear/driveline etc and a 2 way LSD... I will post up pics when I change the oil, but any ideas if the filler hole/drain plug would be in a similar position?
-
Having taken this idea from someone else, when I searched for the same thing some time ago... here is my set up... the hoses that came with it (ones you see) cannot handle the heat under the engine bay.. will change to silicon or similar when I have the inclination. My setup was recommended by SydneyKid, basically it keeps all the pressure of the system like STANDARD, without blocking off pipes... Sound like what you're after... it's a good design, all be it a tad crowded.... but looks "hardcore jap tuner style" IMO ALSO, location of catch can is subject to change... only place mine would fit to some pre drilled holes. P.S. blue Silicon hose now has taken the place of a lot of those hoses... forgive me for the dirty engine bay...
-
Not totally a show off thing... it's mainly for airflow to the FMIC, hence the reason most people change... for better cooling... IMO cut your bar... and let her breath. Sorry for subject change
-
Still rb20 ECU... Turbo timer is "T'ed" off the ECU speed signal sensor wire... so if that doesn't work... ummm perhaps someone else...
-
yeah I actually found that the front pipe for a 32GTST is too short and DOES NOT fit the Cefi... had to get different one made by Reinhard to meet cat. Dump pipe should be 5 stud off turbo and (think) 3 stud triangle to bolt to front pipe.
-
Well... My Trust Turbo Timer has a speed funtion... eg: stay stopped, set speed (as you don't know what speed you are doing (as per instructions that come with it)) and there you have it... place in a spot where viewable and there you are.

Zed V R34 Gtr At Oran Park
QUIKBLADE replied to Boosted Zed's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
HELL YEAH! GTR all the way boy! R- Comp both the GTR and that other thing and let's have a battle! Day, Time, Place...??? -
DAMN... Nice result however.... WTF!! Where did the extra 73rwKWs come from? ? An extra 8 pounds of boost? Surely just reconnecting the IC piping didn't do that!... What tuning software? PFC, F CON V, SAFC + AVCR? How much boost? and what boost controller? CRD are awesome tuners and my cefi will be taking the trip there too, but... could you explain your result abit further for me... Cheers.
