  1. what the u are jokin right how can a shorter stroke rb20 corod (which is 3x thicker than a rb25 rod be weaker ) as they have the same grade metal in them
  2. thats because u starved the bottom end of oil constant hi rpm keeps the oil in the head causing the pic u posted (esp as u are drifting) ive made 280rwkw on my old rb20det it did it for over 3yrs and i abused the engine somthing shocking not just reving the ring out of her but only changin the oil every 20-30,000km running no coolant just water ive rebuilt a fair few rb20 and 25 and im sorry to say it the 25 doesnt quite stack up to a rb20 (but im just another roy i love my rb20det over rb25s )
  3. what wiring troubles r u havin wiring a factory ecu rb25 into a r32 rb26 into a s13 sil rb26 into a r32 etc as ive done a few rb conversions with factory ecu set ups ps do i get a free trip to carins if i do it for u
  4. could u post up the best time and mph this car has done to date plz
  5. so how did u get the p/s pressure switch hooked up (when the silvia doesnt have one ) good luck with the rb25 ecu as u have to hook up the pryometer up as part of feed back to the ecu if not the ecu will chuck a hissy fit (unless its not needed with the pfc) ca18 sr20 and rb20 run the same setup for the eccs, and ignition coil relay its just located in a different location
  6. you can use the haltech e6x witch will run a 6cyl no probs for $1395rrp as for the sensors im taiking about stuff not there on the silvia that is on the skyline(ie power steering pressure switch non hicas) and dicking around with getting the a/c working hooking up the pryrometer hooked up (for rb25)etc
  7. in qld we only have 1 that i know of in not knockin pfc there value for money but when u do rb conversion in to silvias(which i do) the pfc is no good as every sensor has to be hooked up for the ecu to work propley with out goin to to limp mode rb20 r ok but rb25 forget it the cost to hook a 25 up right out wights the cost of getting a haltech etc and a pfc brand new cost more than 1g retail with hand controller if a pfc can be had brand new for a ca18det for under 1g with hand controller ill take 50 plz
  8. they have a wide band sensor but not for close loop yet but they say there developing stuff at the moment haltech on the other hand they have close loop etc std on all there ecu,s haltech also have plug in and play but i dont know if they have then for nissans yet the down side to pfc sod all ppl can tune them (ie change parrameters ) unlke haltech wolf microtech etc
  9. depending on your budget mircotech haltech autronic link ems wolf vs4 motec
  10. id thought id do a update as its been a while tailshaft mod has been done as well as the modded gearbox crossmember factory r33 gtr loom has been spliced into the silvia loom i have also started on makin the custom intercooler pipe work which is being done in alloy if u look (refere to pics) i have done all the pipe work on the turbo side without any scillone hose (in the engine bay) so there was lots of soddin around with the pipework to get the angles right so here are some pics
  11. what model is it r32 or r33 as they run different hicas set ups
  12. no u dont have to run geniune ones i see you are in brizzy give brisco butler a ring there located in windsor they deal with all auto electrial stuff and they will supply u a bolt in replacement ones
  13. u mean 1 of these engines but yeah welcome aboard good to see you own a r32 i wish i still had mine
  14. a gtr diff wont fit into a s13 cradle as the only have 2 bolts on the back of the diff a r32gtst diff will fit
  15. i have fitted this vaporate stuff to vehicles (when it first hit the market)and ive only heard shit like this car x got better hp and car y got better fuel econ but never seen real figures to back up there claims the advridge joe gets sucked in coz it advertised on tv saying it will save u heaps in fuel and money blar blar but when u add up the cost including labour of fitting this stuff it takes around 18-24mths (depending on how much driving u do) before it u brake even and becomes worth while thing
  16. i think hardcore in qld got 430-450rwkw out of a rb20 on a stock bottom end
  17. can u tell me what the sump supports as im a little bit lost i what u are saying as for welding up the factory sump i would have lost about 1 ltr in its oil capasity as u have to mod the front of the sump to clear the s13 swaybar and the bottom back of the pan would(where it goes over the crossmember)would have to be made smaller to clear the crossmember where a 20 or 25 sump is practley a bolt on job and have u tried to weld cast alloy (its a bitch to do as alloy has to be totally spotless ie no oil contamination)
  18. mods plz delete the one that doesnt have pics
  19. just thought i show off a project of a rb26dett install in to a s13 silvia that i am doing for somone at the moment the engine is from a r33 gtr (v-spec i think) i have removed the gtr sump and modified a r32 gtst sump and oil pick up to suit the gtr engine so it will fit into the s13 i am using a rb25det gearbox with a jim berry clutch rated at 600hp (has a 3500 pound pressure plate) we have painted the cam cover coil cover and plemium in a kandy red which is what the car is being painted in the cam covers are polished the engine will be standard for now (no big turbo(s) and i will wire up the factory ecu later on we will be chasing around 400rwkw i will be doin all of the work myself (as i have done lots of these rb conversions) (ie custom alloy pipe work for cooler , modified tail shaft to suit rb25 yoke ,custom gearbox mount etc i know its not a skyline but its got a gtr engine in it i will post up more pics as i progress along with this project

  21. range rovers r the only vehicle (apart from jags) that spend more time in the workshop getting fixed than being driven
  22. thoes problems come std with land rovers as with jaguar aswell
  23. well its kinda a skyline project (well it has a skyline engine in) a s13 silvia which im putting a r33 gtr engine in im in the process of modding a r32 gtst sump and oil pick up to fit the gtr engine
