  1. dont use thoes gay davis craig copper probe temp switch there useless and too f**kin dear i do rb conversions in to silvias and i have sourced a direct electronic thermo switch that bolts in to the factory overtemp switch spot in the radiator cost me $33 and is off a 80.c and on a 85.c ill post up a pic of the switch later 2night
  2. its the late model interior build date on the plate is 10/92 its not the crappy cordroy style interior from the 1990 model but i can post up pics 4 u 2morrow
  3. what parts do u need as im wrecking a r32gtst (i know its not a gtr) some interior trims are broken from the accident but let me know what u need and ill let u know i know the boot trim is good and complete
  4. that will be just a dc tig if u want to tig alloy u will need a ac/dc tig which u can buy cheap ones around the $2,000 mark but they aint that flash at welding alloy then u will need to add a mask, gloves, regulator, welding rods, tunstan welding tips, stanless steel wire brush, gas, hose to run from the reg to your welder the gas bottle u will need to get from boc etc and u will have to pay rent on the bottle dont bother with the disposable gas bottles (well not for tig welding) when i got my ac/dc tig i had never welded alloy before and all i did was pratice (like most things) u get better try and stay away from the cheap tigs (for alloy anyway) as it will show up in your quallity of welding (as they pulsate very savage on alloy)
  5. that rb26 in the pic was from a 1997 r33 with only 40,000km on the clock but this is what the end result looked like with a 1j u get custom engine mounts made up and it will sit on the s13 crossmember and ca/sr engine mount rubbers heres 1 im doin at the moment i think u have to change the front part of the sump (depending what model the engine) came from
  6. use a foward facing plemium as its easier for the piping and clearence issues use the rb20/or ceffie x member and use rb20 engine mounts but as the rb30 block is about 1in taller u will need to mod the engine mounts to clear the bonnet ive heard ppl using rb20 engine mount brackets and (series 4 rx7 engine mount rubbers) to get more clearence i do these conversions all the time (havent done rb30/25 yet) but as rb26s13 said the rb26 clears the bonnet by like 10-15mm heres a pic of how much under bonnet clearance u get with a rb26 under the s13
  7. oooh sweet ive got plenty of pic of custom piping etc that i have done as im a mechanic and fabricator im just about to do custom alloy ic piping and exhaust on a ij powered s13 silvia might have to post up some pics
  8. what the stupid why become a 1st yr apperntice as a mechanic at 21 and be on the std app rate (around $200pw) or wait till hes 22 (as hes 21 at the moment) and get paid around a extra $150pw
  9. wait till u turn 22 to get a apprentiship then u are old enough to get matture age apprentiship wage 1st yr mature wage is 70% of tradesman wage just beaware if u go for a cert 3 in auto (mechanic) the wages are shit (as mechanics are the lowest paid trade) fitter and turners get paid shit loads more ive been in the mechanic trade 4 13yrs and it has its good and bad points general servicing is very boring performance and fabrication work (which i do) is the best part as u see the fruits of your labour come to life
  10. oh thats ok then remember rb25de run 10.1 compression (i think) so with a turbo attatched it will get up and boggie just becarefull as the injectors probley wont be up to the task tho
  11. that motor is dirty as looks like its been 4 a swim buyer beware here mate
  12. sweet now u can start tearing it up at the track
  13. hey trent how did u go with that info i gave u to help sort your problem out with the 26 conversion
  14. go to www.nissansilvia.com theres lot of info on rb conversion i even started a thread on this site and nissan silvia about doin a rb26dett conversion into a s13 silvia (as i do these conversions) dont bother puttin a rb20det g/box behind it put a rb25 box in as u do this conversion as when the rb20 box breaks its a pain in the ass to swap and put a rb25 box in when the engine is in the car u also will have to change the input tailshaft yoke (as rb25 are bigger) change the clutch master , modd the rb25 speedo sensor as it is longer than s13 an wont read right, modd g/box crossmember may aswell do it right 1st time
  15. plum the catch can back in and providing the person who tuned your pfc did a good tune than it will pass a emissions test btw is this a idle or a rolling run emission test
  16. how much lower of a thermostat did u go as the factory ones open up at 76.c
  17. a greddy plemium 4 a rb25det wont fit on a rb20 as the inlet ports are bigger and a greddy plemium is a bastard to fit in the silvia engine bay as the back of the plemium hits (i should say fowls) on the clutch master cylinder (note this is a rb25det with a greddy plemium)
  18. i do lots of rb conversions into silvias and i use 2 12in davis craig fans on a r32 gtst radiator and i have never had any overheating problems i have then hooked up on a custom thermo fan relays with a custom thermo switch (which btw plugs straight in to the r32 overtemp thermo switch ) the thermos are switched on at 85.c
  19. hes selling the car unregoed so he dont need to get a rwc any way its a cheap r32 good luck with the sale
