  1. they fcon V is not a piggy back.. and fcon S is a piggy back, the fcon V only plugs in the same way.. im also pretty sure its is possible to run a Fcon V alone quote from HKS "The HKS F-CON V Pro is a fully featured standalone engine management system that connects as easily as a "piggy-back" fuel and timing controller" again i think your best option is to switch ECU's its really to much hassel and with a car with such nice mods you dont want to take chances... add up the costs.. tune $600- 1000 and if u decide to send the car to nsw or something needs replacing? or PFC $950 and sell the Fcon ontop
  2. i think it shouldnt matter what version of fcon it is as the software can be updated. also i dont think u can half fcon half standard ecu can you? the fcon does plug into the standard ecu, but im sure it only uses it for idle and something else i cant remember..

  4. i think thats the wrong turbo to aim for 300rwkw+ and not only that but the rb20 will also restrict your efforts

  9. simple answer.. no bd4's can recommend no one, they are the only people that have the original software to tune the Fcon.. what i was told is no one has really gone to the trouble of trying to obtain the HKS software apart from bd4's due to the strict guidlines HKS set to be able to use it. ie they dont want any monkey tuner using it i have heard of people trying to copy the software but who is willing to be the guinue pig with second rate software. ive seen the HKS software and its very detailed. my opinion.. take the Fcon out, sell it to someone in NSW and go buy yourself a PFC
  10. what i mean is that if u have had the remap for a year, then its done its time, you got your moneys worth, get an fc now, lol dont u think its odd that after a year and its still not tuned correctly? if it was up to me i would have gotten rid of the remap after the first tune, but i was told the same thing as you "ill fix it for free" which is good... but its never fixed!
  11. u tried turning the boost down?? the graph looks mega rich! and i dont thing a pfc will give u that much look for about 230ish edit: added ur graph
  12. mine's arnt the best example of a remap, and sam used his new software on my car.. no one could figure out the probelm, not even the software designer.. its up to you what you do in the end how much u can afford etc,, if you managed to get a year out of the remap then cut your loses... really!!!!!!!!!!!1 think about it! also remember that even if you get a pfc, ap engineering fc are in demand and a second hand one you could always sell easily in the end
  13. you want my advice?? ditch the dr drift ecu.. get a pfc gain 10rwkw how much have you spent on tuning with sam? and the chip itself? i spent over $700 hours and hours altogether and all i had was a badly tuned car with a start up problem, an idle problem and detonation, he kept insisting it wasnt the sofware but the AFM, i plugged in the HKS fcon and probelm seemed to disappear?? now sam is an ok guy, never stated that he wouldnt fix it, but im in sydney and i couldnt wait for him to come back and forth.. in conclusion if your in melb maybe it aint so bad, but anywhere else dont bother! not worth saving a few $$ get it done right the first time! not just a remapp that plays with timing and fuel etc i paid almost $700 on tuning the Fcon alone and would gladly pay it again rarther than $300 on tuning the remap
  14. dam.... i thought i was the only one with a highflow on a rb20 that comes on a 4k.. im not spending thousand bucks on cams that will give me 200rpm earlier boost

  18. noise mostly depends on the muffler... i had one that had a 3" center and it was ok, now i have one thats 5"s through. rattles windows, good fun

  21. another note, my temps were lower than normal also.. only thing that it could be put down to is i dont run my cooler pipe over the radiator, it runs under the cooler back to original piping..

  23. yeh the dyno is a different type, they really spare no expense with their facilities..
  24. actually start up is perfect.. when i turn the car off it has a habit of running for 2secs then shutting down after the keys are out sometimes.. also it needs more revs in lower gears, used to be able to slow down to 1200rpm in second and just press the accelerator, now if i do it i get a bunny hop effect.. and in 1st its the same under 1500rpm
