  1. Also just thought of something... will this make the car run rich/lean? If i adjust the idle screw?
  2. Cheers mate, greatly appreciated. Yeh I read the bit about adjusting the base idle with the AAC wiring off, but it did nothing, I think it must be too full of crap inside so I will clean it tonight and hopefully I will get a regular idle of 600 instead the 1500-2000-3000 I have had lately. I will let you guys know how it goes.
  3. mine idled as high as 3000!! I tried mucking around with the Idle Adjust Screw, It didnt seem to do anything... when I disconnected the AAC valve the idle dropped a little. How would I go about cleaning it? Dont want to break it.
  4. cool, now I know where to look for it. Is there any set procedure to cleaning them? like does the spring have to have a certain amount of tension put on it? Will carby cleaner do?
  5. I think mine might have the same prob, It will idle erratically, never too low always too high. The highest ive seen it would be around 2100rpm and it wont drop lower. Where is this AAC valve located? Will have a look at it later.
  6. The block.. No cylinder head. the crank, pistons also included. Pretty much the base part of an engine. everything else bolts to that
  7. I'd be interested in one for an R32 GTS-t. You 100% sure this one would fit?
  8. Hah I didnt know that they had two bleed points! That will help me in future when I have to flush them. That would explain why it didnt take the full amount to fill up... Cheers mate
  9. Forgot to ask, where does the temp gauge sit in ur R32 skylines? I am curious. Mine sits just over half and stays there, it is a lot better than it overheating so its not a real issue atm

    Speedworks

A major service as well as a diagnosis and repair on my cooling system, had radiator flushed and end tanks replaced etc. Total was $830. Still running fine this morning I'm happy
  11. Mine is dark blue coupe, I can be seen around wanneroo and beechboro (Two places where I live) Where are you?

    Speedworks

Well I got the car back this morning and it seemed okay, didnt overheat or anything so I'd say they did a good job. Wasn't too expensive so I got them to do a major service for me too. Time will tell tho if that was the problem, So I will let you guys know how the car is going.
  13. Well I got the car back this morning, drove it all the way to work no probs, the temp sat just above half and stayed there. Im happy with the result. We will see if anything else comes up
  14. This is all good news as far as im concerned... they are minor repair/replace jobs compared to replacing a head or gasket.. cheaper too. By all rights if I had a cracked head/ or gasket damage, i'd be experiencing a major lack of power right? as well as milky oil, possibly steamy, smokey exhaust yeh?

    Speedworks

Im taking my car to speedworks on monday and im just wondering what you guys reckon of them... They seem pretty good from what my mate has said.
  17. Dammit! Shes a still gettin hot. I took the bleed valve off last night, then went for a burn, it was good, then the heat just started to rise, so I limped home hoping it wouldnt get too hot. Thanks for your help anyway GDZ1LA Anyone else have any ideas. Still I may not have done it right and GDZ1LA could be right. Any help welcome.
  18. Im not trying to sound thick... but the process would be: to fill the radiator with the screw out, then run the engine etc and keep filling until it spurts? Is that it? roughly Cheers for ur help so far dude!
  19. Is that the little screw with a yellow "never open when hot" label on the inlet manifold closest to the front end of the car? What do I do, just take it out and put it back in or do I have to run the engine with it off?
  20. :flamed: This problem has me a little worried and confused... I just got my new car, R32 GTS-t (HOORAY!) and it is overheating , at first it wouldn't do it all the time, but now it does... its an 89' and has done 84000 k's. It doesnt feel down on power, doesn't blow smoke or have water coming from the exhaust, no coolant in oil, or bubbles in coolant. It will get really hot sometimes...which has me very concerned :warning: ... but then it will drop all of a sudden... which makes me think it is a f***ed thermostat. I know i shouldn't drive it, but i have to get to work, I get the car into speedworks on monday so they should diagnose the problem... hopefully. What do you guys reckon it could be? Also, after the cooling issue is sorted of course, what do you guys reckon I should do to the car first? front mount, suspension, brakes... It already has an HKS pod and Kakimoto exhaust... the rest is stock... i think Cheers
