  1. no worries mate i didnt have a clue until we pulled the entire transfer case to bits to check the clutches and then we realised how simple it worked, and to block it off we undid the line off the rear of the transfer case and i have a spare plunger thing from the auto tranfer case so we screwed it into that instead and then made a bracket over the top of the plunger so it couldnt push at all and we just wired it up under the car for ther moment until we sort out y its staying in constant 4wd with it hooked up... im really chasin a stagea wiring diagram for the attessa system has anyone online got one???? cheers Brad
  2. the hydraulic line comes off the very rear of the gearbox (well transfercase) if u check under your auto is exactly the same and its a huge thick line which runs to pump above rear diff. the attessa clutches are pressed exactly like a clutch setup, with the fluid pushing a piston in the rear of the transfercase, which pivots a arm in the box to squeeze the clutch packs together activating 4wd... the only ecu involvement is deciding when to turn pump on and off and to activate the active lsd which is very similair style diff setup with clutches inside and done with same fluid. hopefully thats right... cheers Brad
  3. front driveshafts and front tailshaft are both still on, but the attessa clutches have no hydraulic pressure to activate front wheels so its impossible for them to work.. ive done plenty of burnouts in 2wd and donuts, so i know its 2wd for sure :uh-huh:
  4. hey prank the attessa ecu is behind the passenger side rear quarter panel above the rear wheel, its a bitch of a thing to get to and requires removal of rear trims and shit, which are all on clips soo be careful, dont wanna snap any of em :uh-huh: mines in rwd only by totally removing the attessa hydraulic line from rear of box and putting a stop on it, which stops pressure in the transfer case and therefore shouldnt be causing any damage (i hope) sk would know more.. cheers Brad
  5. it failed to proceed, had to be towed home again. for some reason the power was goin to the easiest wheel (broken shaft one) and i thought with active lsd it should actually goto the other wheel to help traction? maybe my active lsd isnt workin correctly either? cheers Brad
  6. hey guys well yes my bad luck is continuing... last night i took off from a set of lights, and when it came on boost in 1st it just went bang!!! and discovered the drivers side rear driveshaft is snapped clean in half  so now i need another driveshaft... just wondering if stagea have the same driveshaft length as r32/33 ? hopefully they do... thankfully it wasnt the diff as i first thought i would asume being in 2wd only wouldnt have helped and also 2 other passengers anyways hopefully its fixed asap.. cya Brad
  7. hey guys im after the error codes for the attessa ecu in the rear of gtr's and stageas, mine is coming up with number 75 which i would like to know what it is? hopefully someone can help thanks Brad
  8. here is a pic of the vacuum booster holder we made to suit, by cutting the 4" hole in the firewall as i described in earlier posts... it recesses the booster for the clutch into the firewall 40mm.
  9. well just pulled the attessa ecu out and the diagnostics light says 75 as a error code, so what is that, anyone know? cheers Brad
  10. thanks sk that gives me a better understanding, well the autronics has its own dedicated loom (supplied with ecu) and we wired it to suit, so no stock loom in place. we will be checking the attessa ecu tonight hopefully, and some wiring diagrams would be of great help if anyone else can get hold of em? thanks a heap again Brad
  11. thanks for the quick reply sk so this is the attessa ecu plug u r talkin about? also remembering i have autronics smc ecu, rather than stock gtr ecu, is that any reason for probs or not? so what wires from the original wiring loom have to be hooked up? sorry im not real good with the attessa system, can u explain how the sensors affect the control of the attessa? thanks again, u r a great help Brad
  12. i got one too, its RB26VL with new username, as old one stuffed up and wouldnt let me login anymore. anyways im amazed there is 40 in perth, ive seen 2 others besides mine so far since last november when i got mine. manual and rb26 is heaps nicer than the auto 25's :headspin: little bit of a rougher ride, but more fun ill be on some cruises soon, and prolly at the upcoming dyno day at hyperdrive cheers Brad
  13. hey guys well i been unable to log on to here for months for some stupid reason so i change my user name from RB26VL to this now the stagea was completed about 6 weeks ago and all was well until we realised it was only in 2wd mode and we had removed the ecu from behind the rear quarter panel which is infact the attessa control unit, i was told it was the auto ecu, but we plugged it back in and then 4wd came on, and light is still on on the dash but its CONSTANTLY staying in 4wd and we cant work out why??? im talking 4wd from idle, and only way to get 4wd is remove the rear attessa hydraulic line and put a stop on it and then its in 2wd, but why would it be in 4wd ALL the time?? also heading down the freeway, dropped it to 2nd gear and planted it to revlimiter of 7500rpm and auto tranny fluid from the transfer case is spraying through the gearbox shifter and in the car, because i didnt have the console surround on, but it only happens at redline or close to it, and only done it twice plus it seem as if the fluid is almost boiling, cause its in 4wd maybe??? besides all the recent dramas the bloody thing moves really well, in 2wd mode it just steps out on every gear change, cant wait for the 2530 turbos to be done soon :aroused: people are just amazed how fast volvo lookin wagons can go  no dyno run as yet as we couldnt get 2wd to work for the 2wd dyno the shop had so we gotta sort this out first but hoping around 360-370hp at wheels, which is same as the vl with a few less mods. u can definately feel the wieght of the stagea compared to vl but quality makes up for it hoping to get the a weigh bridge in the next week to weigh it with everything in, prolly around 2000kg with subs etc hehe, cant beleive a 2.6L can go so fast dragging along a big car :headspin: sydneykid or anyone hopefully u's can help thanks a heap guys
