No problems.
I have Nitto Motivo 245/45/18 both front and rear, replacing the 225/50/18 front and 245/45/18 rear Chinese compliance tyres. Cannot remember the brand...

Try these...
See if they help..
2008-infiniti-g37- VDC.pdf 2008-infiniti-g37-om snow.pdf
When I first got my V36, I also found it slippery, but that was the tyre release agent. Once that was gone, all good. I now only get the slip light when I deserve it..

And mud.... :-)

Yes my Whiteline bars are sitting in the shed until the car visits the mechanics.. Better their hoist then me crawling under the car on ramps.
I belive that stands are no good for a sway bar changes as the wheels must not droop.
-
Will do Colin.
They might be getting a bit scarce as when I first asked Taleb Tyres about them, they told me that they didn't have any and were not able to import any more. Then they found the ones they sold me, and put the remainder on their eBay store. Otherwise it would have had Invo's for about the same money.
They already feel better than the Chineses tyres that went on for compliance, but will have better idea once all the mould release stuff has worn off.

Just fitted 245/45 R18 all round on my 370 sedan yesterday. All fitted perfectly even on the different sized wheel.
Then I noticed that the compliance tyre placard has listed 225/50 R18 and 245/45 R18 as legal front tyre...
Nitto Motivo's by the way... Shipped from Sydney and fitted locally for just under $ 1,000.. Very happy and looking forward to quality non-comliance tyres..

both sedans have 2 piston front single rear =P
Not according to the G35 sedan 2008 Service manual...
BR-63 is showing that there are 2 brake options on the sedan.
330mm front discs with single piston sliding caliper
and 320mm front discs with dual piston sliding calipers.
This means if you have the dual piston calipers on your car, then maybe you are running the same 320mm discs as the 370z!! That would be a bit of good news for you.
-
You cannot miss the 4 piston set ups... The calipers are huge and standard on the S and SP 370GT. Big silver things...
This is the eBrochure for the V36 coupe and shows that "four-wheel aluminium caliper opposed piston brake" was standard on the S and SP, but not the P and the base 370GT coupe, from October 07.

Having been seriously corrected on this with the sedans, I have also read up on this...
With the coupes, it is much easier, the S and SP have the 370z BBK with 4 piston in the front, 2 piston on the rear and 355mm front discs.
Found out for certain today... V36 sedans.
350gt S and SP single piston front and rear 330mm front discs.
370gt S and SP 2 piston front single piston rear and 320mm front discs.

Wow!! That is incredable!! Someone at Nissan must have had a brain fade...
Is it even worth fitting the entire 370Z brakes from a wrecker rather than going with a BBK and having to change the wheels out to clear the calipers?
-
oh yes, completly understand, not suggesting anyone just slaps on the smaller discs and drives off with an obvious pads not lining up problem.
Hence why I said to ask the experts, that being GSL. Still might be that with the correct pads, it all lines up... Stranger things have happened in OEM spare parts land before...
-
Only talking 10mm aren't we.. Given how cheap the 370Z discs are, even uprated ones, I reckon it might be worth a go.. It might be that the calipers are actually the same for both, just a slightly bigger disc and so with the 370Z pads as well, it might all line up correctly.
We might need to bite the bullet and ask GSL...
-
Okay thanks for the clarification mate.
I didn't realise that the 350GT S and SP had the Infinit G35 Sport brakes on the sedan. I was told that the brakes were all the same on the Skyline V36 S and SP Sedans no matter if 350GT or 370GT.
So does that mean you have 4 pot calipers as well? Well jealous if you do...
-
Maybe on the coupes, but for the sedans pretty certain that there was no sports brake option for the Skylines. We all got the same 12.6" (320mm) discs on the front as the entry 370Z and also its entire suspension.
The Infiniti's did get a big brake option on the sedans which is the massive 14" discs and 4 pot calipers that all the S and SP V36 Coupes get. Huge dish on the wheels to clear the calipers as well...
-
I believe these would fit?
At least worth asking GSL.
They do special pricing for Forum members as they are registered traders on the site.
-
Pads from GSL will be like $70 for the set. They will also do you a great deal on the discs, well they did on my old M35.
The V36 sedan brakes are way smaller that the coupe ones so should be a lot cheaper. They are the smaller of the two that were fitted to the 370Z so quite easy to get hold of.
-
That front bumper thing is a parking aid, and not an antenna... The fuse is likely to be inline, but it could be any ware...
And the cruise limit, that is a factory setting.. Nissan like to do that, even on my old AUS new A32 Maxima, the cruise on that would not work about 135km/h.
-
Nick, on the earlier units you are correct . These are a different matter. They are either amplified or not .
Thanks Chris,
Was waiting for the definative response on this...
So is it actually a better head unit, in terms of specs, or just optimised to drive the Bose amps and I assume low impedance speakers?
There does seem to be nothing on the facia stating the Bose bit, apart from the badging on the woofers and sub.
-
Wow and my 6 year old and 3 year old complain about how much smaller the V36 4-dr is compared to the M35 Stagea... .
Also doing the school/kinder run 3 days a week, but no one notices my car, as one of the other dads has a R35...
-
Actually, there are differences between the head units - namely line outputs in place of speaker level outputs, subwoofer output and the +12V remote output for the amp located in the boot. There may be other differences internally but nothing which affected my modifications to the stereo system.
I stand corrected, but was under the impression that this was controlled by jumper settings in the unit, rather than fundemental differences in the amp sections etc.
But I am correct that there are no markings on the front of the audio unit, given that it is a face plate with the HVAC controls, identifying that the car has a Bose unit. You need to look at the door cards and the rear parcel shelf.
-
Yes I agree... Mine KV36 arrived with Bose, but when I was looking at buying it, when the VIN was ran through FAST equivalent it did not show the Bose as it was so far down the list... Behind the 4WS, steering headlamps, self healing paint etc.
There is nothing on the audio unit, to mark it as Bose, as the Bose and non-Bose are the same head unit, it is a Bose speaker system, so you need to look for the Bose logo on the front doors, and the Bose Sub/Subs in the rear shelf..
-
Very wierd...
The AUS spec 370Z has the same 245kW as the JDM 370GT..
-
Fantastic!!! Had no idea that there was compliance available for the post 2010 facelifted V36. Nice external and internal changes..

225/50/18 does not fit properly on an 8.5 inch rim, as per rear of V36. Generally 8.0 is the widest wheel that would take that size comforably, unless you are going for a streached look... either way that would partially explain a wobbly rear end...
In addition the Yokaham Earth range of tyres are hippy hippy baloney greeny tyres that are optimised for fuel consumption, not grip. They also are not available bigger than 16" for AUS market,
I think what you have are the BluEarthA which is a JDM tyre, still not approved for 8.5" wheel..
I would change the tyres as a good starting point for sorting out these issues. Get with a quality set of 245/45/18 front and rear... A lot less coin and hassle than finding the wierdo 225/50/18 fronts..
