  6. I'm the original owner of this car, just wanted to clarify some of GRKGTR's misinformation. Yes its the same car. Wrong on the increase in price buddy. Imports 101 were merely speculating what price they might be able to procure the car for as it was for sale on yahoo auctions japan. They had not contacted the owner at all to negotiate price or ask what sum of money would buy the vehicle. I bought the car through J-Spec and the car complied as it came from japan cost me a lot more then that. Once in australia i bought the titanium front pipes at a cost of close to $2500 delivered from japan, the passenger bride seat and rail for $1300, and quite a bit on getting it mod plated and engineered to be street legal. I sold the car to Jyo and since buying it from what i can gather he has refined the braking setup on the car, installed an alarm, changed the battery to a drycell, installed a headunit, put an r33 gtr gearbox in and spent a lot of time and money dialling in the suspension settings to suit the australian race tracks. I can assure you neither of us have made money off this car. I do miss owning this car, it was a lot of fun to drive and very quick, the midrange response was amazing. Best of luck with the sale Jyo. Thanks Jamie
  7. Was a man in his late 30's doing reportedly 140/150 in a 60zone in a stock looking VT.

  9. I bet it was one of his clown mates driving at the time
  10. I do agree with the fact that aftermarket bov's aren't necessary. But surely the cops could be doing something more usefull. I don't know how many times I have seen fights that are getting out of control and the police have been called but never turn up. Also at my last job the boss called the police about some kid smashing the windscreen of his car but they never turned up. Yet without fail everynight i am out i will see the cops driving around doing laps looking for cars to defect or hassle. How about they defect some cars with real safety issues like bald tyres , rust holes the size of a persons head, leaking oil and with struts and springs that have been in the car for 30years?
  11. There are no driveways off the track nor houses beside it throughout the section they compete on. There is one house at the very bottom of the road and three i think at the top. All of these are probably 500m from the section they race on. Congratulations on just making a statement that makes you look as bad, if not worse then the rest of us in this thread. Most stupid comment in this thread so far imo.
  12. Lol, maybe it just felt quick because it was so twitchy? I concede defeat. The corners on gyndier esp all the right handers tend to be pretty tight. Not picking an argument for a change, but are you familiar with the track?
  13. I was just making the point that it had time and money spent on lowering the mass of the car as well as increasing power without reducing the responsiveness too much, seems that your into racing so much i thought you would realise how the benefits of reducing weight outweigh the benefits of increasing power. I wasn't saying that the car, as you correctly guessed now Jyo's, is quick on gyndier drive as i only took it up there once or twice as it was setup for smooth roads, such as well maintained race tracks. I was merely pointing out that all 20 something year olds skylines are not merely slapped together cars with "common well known parts" like Tein coilovers and so on.
  14. I suppose my 32 gtr i used to own was a slapped together car? Seam welded body with welded in cage, close to 10k of suspension work, stripped out interior minus two fixed back front seats, titanium bits and pieces and over 300awkw with very low boost threshold and the most torque i have experienced in a car, oh and it was running advan a048s allround. I'm sure it would have left ur 32 for dead around a circuit but, hey i'm 24 so i guess that means you'd win. The guy who bought it is on this forum, perhaps you'd like to go to a track day at qr and show how much better your experience makes you.
  15. yeah millenium is still around. have heard mixed stories about them.
  16. lol and a pirate hat?
  17. He didn't actually say anything about inventing sliding through corners but merely suggested that it's sometimes a lot quicker to do say rather then taking the conventional racing line through a corner. If i recall correctly most of the arc cars come through the tighter corners sideways. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. :sorcerer:
  18. i want to see one of these bmws run up there:
  19. get your story right mate.... thats not the track record Neil Farr did a 54.32s run in his 1976 Bowin-Hay P6 last year.
  20. Matty Spry at PITS is only place in qld i can recommend...... very friendly, not arrogant like a lot of highly regarded tuners. Heard some negative things about APC but mainly regarding overcharging.
  21. Found something that is interesting if true but i have no real legal knowledge but maybe someone here can comment on this: "Another example, one written into your Constitution, is the right to drive. When you apply for a drivers license, you give up your right and are thereby granted a privilege. But because you exist under the Constitution, you have a right to drive. I want to clarify that it is basically a right to travel on the roads. The Supreme Court has ruled that this includes one's personal automobile. Because that is your right, you don't have to do anything to exercise it other than to exist. However, when you enter into a contract (a drivers license), you relinquish that right and subject yourselves to laws that are made regarding the privilege you are now given. As teenagers you are taught that you take drivers education, apply for a license and then you can legally drive. Of course, when you get your license you are then subject to the laws about automobile insurance, vehicle registration, the laws of the road, etc. Your traveling then becomes a privilege instead of a natural right, correct? You're not taught that you have a choice."
  22. two cars went off the track ..... new mini looked like a write off, the front left strut was ripped out of the strut tower, and roof was folded in pretty well/ best production car time was like a 59.88sec. some of the open wheelers were actually quick though.
