Anyone seen or own the white R33 GTR that gets around down at mooloolaba a bit. Saw it on monday driving near the sunshine plaza when it was raining, sounded pretty good. had a vspec sticker on the boot lid and looked like the brakes on it were pretty big last time i saw it.

cleaned up nicely, the paint color looks heaps different after you gave it a wash. ahhh the self compliance - it will be a while. i have to get my other car ready to sell before i start on the gtr so it will be a while yet. If i start on the gtr now i won't want to work on the other car (getting turbos rebuilt, oil seals gone i think) as its not a fun job. Jamie

Which dump/extension pipes to buy for bnr32
«Cyph3r» replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ahhh .... got my car finally and guess what, after all that it has mines dumps allready.... i think i'll keep them for the time being until i have done a few other things to the car i would like to first and that will take priority to these at this stage, plus i'd like to see what power i get with these and the rest of the system and then if i can, compare it to a gtr with trust front and n1s and compare them. will keep the trust pipes in mind though. thanks everyone for your opinions and advice. Danny - Got the car ok ..... looks cleaner then i thought it would be, the respray is much better then i expected and far better condition then i thought judging by the photos. Found a few little extra mods that weren't listed too Will let you know how it goes when its tuned and all sorted, the whole way home i kept it below 4k and only got 0.3bar boost (just to be safe until had tune and afr's checked) so i am anxious as waiting until i can rev it and hit full boost Daniel - Sorry hadn't replied, my computer died and i just got it going again tonight. How long is your compliance looking at taking? Jamie

Which dump/extension pipes to buy for bnr32
«Cyph3r» replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah i wish i didn't buy the ones that i did now, i paid too much for them and don't think i'd be able to get my money back on them. I bought them thinking i was doing the right thing getting the lightest possible front pipes without thinking about compromising the exhaust flow by doing so. Basically i paid more for the front pipes then the whole trust dump/front combo :chairshot:bonk: All that said would the difference in flow of say the hks dumps into my front pipes, compared to trust set, make a noticable difference in the way that the turbos spool or the power curve or would it be not a huge difference?? Just wondering how far to go and whether to get what i can, and cut my losses and get the trust set still? Jamie -
hmmmm  i thought eveyone knew 2jz are far superior to rb series engines sure they rev lower then rb's but they make more torque, power and are more bulletproof in stock form. EDIT i realise now you meant compared to 13b..... nevermind then. I'd say go with the series 8, at least its a newer car and they are a lot less common then the gtr is, plus they look better and handle better.

Yeah i already have this front pipe for it so all the trust offerings are ruled out.... i'll probably just go hks. -

so true. does anyone on that site know how to spell and use correct grammar? -
from what i have heard the ps system of measuring power is different to the hp/kw system, although generally ps and hp figures for a car are pretty similair.

They aren't an option in this case, unfortunately, as i allready have a set of front pipes that i never want to replace. That is a great deal though and a very good design by the looks of it they are seperated for a good foot or so -
Top hose and top of radiator is where the hot water from motor goes in. Bottom hose and bottom area of radiator is where it comes out so it should be quite a bit cooler once its run through the whole radiator and exited. thats my extent of knowledge. With the water level dropping too...... if you flushed the system properly and got all the water out of the heater hoses, once you refilled it the heater wouldn't have had water circulating through it unless you turned the heater on. So yes that could be why the water level dropped..... could have also been that you got an air lock in the hoses somewhere. I spent a ridiculously long time flushing the radiator in my toyota and running it and filling it up till i got all the air out..... took me probly half a day on off doing it. :uh-huh:

R33 GTR - Clutch/Flywheel kit recommendations?
«Cyph3r» replied to Blitz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Another place from my experience that are good with clutches are "Nicks Performance Clutches" in brisbane.... i had a dog of a clutch (HKS Triple Solid Centre) and he converted it into a twin plate carbotic and machined the flywheel and other bits, whatever you call them, for $600 total. Was heaps better to use afterwards, possibly the easiest clutch i have ever used. Handled the power allright too as long as i had the car it never slipped. Also avoid OS Giken twin plates, they are not as easy to use in traffic as everyone makes out, they aren't too bad having said that but there are easier clutches to use that will handle the same amount of power and make the drive that mcuh more enjoyable. All this is from experience, hope its helpfull to someone out there. Cheers Jamie -
Hi all, I know this question has been asked and debated before but just thought i'd try and get some opinion between more then just two brands. The car they are to be fitted to has twin n1 turbos mounted on stock turbo manifolds and exit through stock dumps atm into a nice front pipe and then into a straight through 90mm exhaust with cannon at the end. So far i have heard the best things about the CES dump pipes as well as the hks ones. Haven't heard anything at all about the nismo or tomei or power enterprise ones before, so i'd appreciate anything you have to share Here are some i know of.... let me know if i missed any others :uh-huh: Thanks Jamie HKS - ~$675 Tomei - ~$750 Power Enterprise - ~$860 Nismo - ~$1220 CES Racing - ~$800 (ignore the front pipes, only pic i could find)
-
Just to give people some info, i have a hks sidemount on my chaser. It is flowing enough air atm for 230rwkw @ ~12psi. They also don't stop the airflow to the radiator as a lot of people overlook that by adding a fmic and dropping intake air temps they are raising water temps by creating less efficient cooling of radiator. Plus they are stealth.

there is no real point to it on a gtr as probly more then 90% of the so called "carbon fibre" bonnets in australia are fibreglass bonnets with a carbon fibre skin on them making them heavier then the aluminium and illegal, makes it in the same category pretty much as putting diff bov's on the gtr even though the stock ones are good for more power/boost then most gtr's in qld are making and also have the advantage of being legal.
-
bov i don't think should make it lean out, when my sisters 32 was leaning out it was the afm.

I have heard APC are good but they charge like a wounded bull, ie if you have plenty of money go there but if your on a tight budget might be best going elsewhere. They charge similairly to croydon racing development.

OMG another one gone, wtf is going on! Can't anyone be bothered "earning" their money anymore? Hope it gets found b4 its too late. Jamie

Pics eh..... pretty shit drfit but anyway

stupid gtr wheel size question
«Cyph3r» replied to MELV's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
as everyone has allready said, wouldn't be good, the car would work but it can cause a lot of problems with the attessa as well as i'd imagine wearing out transfer case a lot quicker. I have been told though if you pull the attessa fuse you can run diff size tyres as long as you want in rwd mode. why did you want to run wider tyres at the rear in a 4wd car:confused: Does your car see the drag strip regularly? -
Dogs seem to be a good theft deterrent if they are good at telling when someone is near the house too. Our dog goes nuts whenever someone comes in the driveway or whenever theres someone unknown to him around. I'm sad to say it but police don't seem to care these days much unless its going to get them money. We have had several times at work when the cops just don't turn up for 4 hours plus. That said i hope you get your car back or insurance payout, or atleast get justice for this and the f*%^ers that did this get put in jail and raped by their cell mate
