  1. Apologies - bad choice of words. Filling gaps with assumptions where no information is provided. Maybe re-editing will convey my points more clearly. [edit] Or maybe I should just stop posting about this altogether.
  2. Sorry - don't want to take away from the seriousness of the matter but it has to be said that ACA and News don't belong in the same sentence. And also i don't really see the point in mentioning that he was driving a Nissan Skyline, and by doing so it takes away the real focus of the whole story and portray a negative image on the Skyline/GTR community. Like the car that he was driving really mattered in the fact that he crashed. A young man died while behind the wheel and we should all take this as an example that once we get into the drivers seat (of any car) we have a responsibility not only to ourselves but to our family, friends and community to drive in a safe and responsible way. Condolences to the family and friends of the young guy that lost his life. [edit]
  3. Yeah exactly what I was thinking. If they want it then they are gonna find a way to get it one way or another. All you can do is slow them down. Best place would be in at home in a locked garage with a little tibetan spaniel asleep near the wheels. Those little sh!ts will piss on anything. - Mike.
  4. haha yeah - wife wants me to fix it so i can sell it off. Not too sure how i feel about that. But in some ways it explains why its taken me 5+ years to '"find parts for it".

  8. Hi All Looking to get rid of my iPad. Its the 32gb WiFi-3G version. Purchased it as a birthday present for the missus end of October 2010. From day 1 we've had it in the Apple flip case and screen protector. Rarely use it - only use it to keep our 11month old occupied when we cut his nails so he keeps still (something about Katie Perry and Stephanie from Lazy town - must be the hair). Comes with extra warranty that was purchased at the time - i believe this can be transfered over. Ill add some pics tonight but i dont imagine there be any sort of scratch on it (being in the case all the time) and you all know what an iPad looks like. Item Summary: Apple iPad 32gb WiFi-3G version Location: Campbelltown NSW or Lane Cove NSW Postcode: 2560 / 2066 Asking Price: $800 or iPhone 4 Condition: Used Reason for Selling: dont use it much and really want an iPhone 4 Delivery Methods: PickUp Contact Info: 0423 293 563 Extra Information: Ill wipe/restore before i send it obviously so please dont expect to have any apps on it other than what you get after a restore. Thanks - Mike
  9. I give up - i guess im still sore about the fact that the HWP officer did nothing to make a bad situation that little bit better. But someone is gonna say that its not their job to do so. I guess thats all we can expect from the people who patrol our streets, keeping it safe for the law abiding tax payers. Dont do anything wrong and you wont have any troubles. But if you genuinely made a mistake and end up on the wrong side of the law - dont expect them to be anything other than cold, unsympathetic walls who are trained to be a certain way. Tell me this - when you drive down the street and you see a HWP in the rear view or on comming the opposite direction, do you automatically check your speed and make sure you not going over the limit by that little bit, or do you think "gee i hope i dont get pulled over for that "random breath test" or do you genuinely think to yourself - "Man, im so glad that we have HWP catching the rust buckets and bad drivers that frequent our roads"? Maybe the police force can spend our tax dollars and revenue from the fines that we pay to train them to be more human.
  10. So what you are saying Matt is.... I should be greatful that HWP only fined me $600 and not a whole lot more? WOW im so glad that the officer showed some decency and traits that she was somewhat human. Im not harping about the fine... just the lack of consideration. Here is an example of a positive HWP situation: When i was younger and on my red P's - like all young and stupid drivers i thought i was the up and comming Webber - driving like i had 100's of years or experience under my belt. To make and long and predictable story short i was caught doing 110km in a 60km zone. That means $1500 in fines and on the spot loss of license. But the difference is that this officer let me drive home. She was kind enough to review the situation and let me drive from Lucas Heights back to Campbelltown. At the time when i was told of the possible outcome and fine - all that was going through my head was "Oh fudge - how the hell am i gonna get home if i cant drive?". Sure $1500 was a lot of money but i was more concerned about getting home. With regard to driving the unregistered car, what is the difference if i drove home (that is 2 mins away) and spending half a day driving around getting my car inspected and registered while out of rego? If i got into an accident while i was in the process of registering my car, would the outcome be any different to if i had an accident while on my way home after being fined? At least of i was escorted some way there and i did get into an accident, they could at least lend some assistance. If i got into a life threatening accident while they were around - wouldnt they be of greater use than if i were to get into a life threatening accident and have to wait for an ambulance/police to arrive later on?
  11. LOLZ stubby fingers FTW - thanks DAS, that killed what little steam i had. Kudos to you.
  12. Yeah i guess i am whinging. Not about the fine - but the about the lack of assistance or understanding that i got. I "SAID" i just gotten out of hospital because thats what happened. And there was a new born in the car. And we were 2 mins from home. If anyone knows campbelltown, were pulled over infront of the Club hotel and i live in Blair Athol and i go to Hillsong on Sundays. Im not disputing what i did was wrong - give me the fine but at least help me somehow. I dont know what HWP can and cant do im not one but you cant expect to put someone through this and expect them not to hold ill feelings towards you (or your institution).
  13. Yeah i have to say that it brought up a whole lotta bad memories from 6months ago. A bit harsh yes but at the time i was raging. Being made to take a new born out of the car and having your already emotional wife sob about how we cant actually afford a $600 fine and then being left with no assitance from the people who are supposed to protect you can send anyone into that sorta rage. So i will edit and remove that part of the post and apologise to HWP (my first post was not directed to anyone else in the police force other than HWP) that i have offended. I believe that enough people have read it to get a feel of how upsetting the situation was. And clear things further - yes i was going to church which was 5 mins from home. My brother in law (who is on the forums) can vouche for that. He had to come and pick us up. And if it makes a difference i was not driving the skyline - we were in our Mazda3. MODS: i cant edit my first post. No edit button. Assitance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  14. WTF Prue? in which part of the post did i say that i knowingly drive an unregistered car? KNOWINGLY.If i'd known that the car was unregistered at the time i wouldnt of driven it. Weevil - i know that it is illegal to drive an unregistered car, i never contested that it was legal (read 1st line 5th paragraph). I never said that the cop wasnt doing her job or was it her fault the car was unregistered. I got the car registed the next day (MONDAY). I know the law and i admitted that i was wrong, and i have copped the fine. I paid the damn fine. What you are not getting is the lack of understanding (and assitance) that i recieved from HWP. I wasnt being rude, i explained camly that we just got out of hospital the same week, and it had slipped my mind and that i will get it done the next day. but all i got from the HWP brick wall was "you are out of rego - get yourself, your wife and your newboard out of the car and find another way home - have a nice day". Im sure that a little helping hand in situations like this will gain the NSW HWP alot of favour with the public.
  15. Speaking of an officers discreation - I'd like to share my thoughts about NSW HWP (this is only HWP and not NSW Police). About 6.5 - 7 months ago my wife gave birth to our first child, and a week after we got out of the hospital we where pulled over on a Sunday night (around 5:30PM) on our way to an evening church service (church is about 5 mins from home). I was 1 day out of rego and had totally forgotten that it was due because of the pregnancy and all. Yes - i did get the notice from the RTA weeks before it was due. The day i recieved it i filed it away thinking that i will remember to renew when the time came. Yes - My fault for not remembering, totally agree. So we where pulled over on the Sunday night, was told that because i was out of rego i could not drive the car, i had to call a family member to come pick us up, take our new born out and install the baby capsule in the other car, leave the car where it is and go home. I asked if i can at least drive the car 2 mins to my place or be escorted home instead of going through all that - she said no incase i am involved in an accident blah blah. Ive been driving for 12 years and not been involved in an accident. And what kind of reckless driving will do with a new born in the car to be involved in an accident? Now I understand that driving a car that is out of rego is against the law and i have every respect for people who uphold the law - but i was 1 day out and it was a Sunday night. Couldnt she have given me a warning or something and used a bit of discretion in this matter? This was our first kid and i was wrecked with stress and exhausted from sleepless nights at the hospital. All i wanted to do was get to church and be around poeple for strength, support (yes church talk ) and get out the stress. Last thing i need was a ticket. Anyway, i admit it was entirely my fault but c'mon 1 day out and on a Sunday and she couldnt show some leniency? Good work NSW HWP - you are definately upholding your motto "Culpam Poena Premit Comes". I hope that $600 i paid in fines brings a whole bunch of you; •Type 2 diabetes •High blood pressure •Stroke •Heart attack •Heart failure •Cancer •Gallstones and gall bladder disease •Gout and gouty arthritis •Osteoarthritis of the knees, hips, and the lower back •Sleep apnea •Pickwickian syndrome from all the donuts it got you. I know its harsh but F8CK do i hate HWP. No good waste of space. Hold your breaths and do the world world a favour.
