  1. Hi everyone. A colleague at work has put a deposite down for a 1998 R33 GTS-T. I was wondering if they exist, or has be had a dodge pulled on him. I heard that the last run of 33's was in 1998 but they are hard to find. Can anyone confirm or disprove this? Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. I saw it on Sunday and i though that the whole coverage was "good". Im not a drift expert, so im comparing this to all the jap dvds ive seen in my life. The good things to say about Sundays event was that it is great to see that they are finally broadcasting events like this on Australian Tv (even if it is only on SBS). Lets hope it gets as big as the V8 Super cars, then they can kick the Fords and Holdens out of the comp. . I definately like the idea of the chase car. Makes us "lounge room drifters" feel like we are part of the whole thing. I felt that the camera angles focused too much on the cars (well on the lead car in the frame rather than both cars), which is not entirely a bad thing. But i would rather it focus more on thr approach, corner and exit, than on just the cars in the corner with smoke all around. They didnt focus on the "battle" of both cars. It felt like you were watching one car drift, then the second car follow. When you watch the D1 dvds you see the whole thing. When the cars come in, it goes to a focus on the car and as it enters the corner and starts the drift, it pans out to view the whole corner and then it follows the car out. And when you are watching, you feel tense because you can see both cars in the corners battling it out. I think that because Australian tv is new to drift, they focus on the wrong thing. I felt they focused too much on the whole "V8 Smoke show" or "...and check out the smoke from the rear tyres of the car". I also felt that the commentators were not educated or passionate enough to be commentating on this event. Im not saying that they are bad, i cant do better, but i felt that they were not getting excited enough to make me wanna keep on watching. If i wasnt into Jap cars or if i wasnt rooting for the 33, i probably would off went outside and got some much needed sunshine. When you watch things like the football or V8s or F1s, you can sense their passion. In the D1 comps, even tho you cant understand the commentators, the way they get excited and the way that the camera angles are shown, makes you get excited too. You get disappointed when the 70min dvd has finished. I think it also has to do with their knowledge of the sport. I feel that the commentators have to know more about the sport in order to communicate to the viewing public what drifting is alll about. * What kind of things are the judges looking for when they award points? * Why did this driver get 2 points and the other 8? * Why did they put these car up against the other car? * What is drifting all about? A little bit of knowledge can lead to alot of interest from an uneducated public. I also thought that their was not enough about the cars and drivers, but maybe that was because of it only being an hour long time slot. But as i said, im not an expert. I compare to the dvds ive seen, and i gotta tell you when the 60min program was finished i throught "well that was ok". Although i did get disappointed that the Skyline didnt get the round win which he deserved.
  3. That looks like the stuff someone would use as an air conditioning duct or a skylight duct. Small tho. I got something that looks similar to that and made an air duct/passage from the front of my Celica to the air box. Got it from Bunnings in the plumbing section i think it was.
  4. Call the guys at JustJap. I got new set for 1k or they are $550 each. Price might of changed so its best to call them. Good luck with that. Soul.
  5. If you wanna sell it can i also put in my interest in purchasing the S2 bar?
  6. Will you take $150 for it? Are they in working order? Where are you located? I can possibly pick up. Soul.
  7. If skylineR33 dont take the front bar, how much is it inc post to Sydney 2567? Soul.
  8. Ooh! Ooh! Pick me! pick me! Im in.
  9. yeah first place i called was just jap. Its not that i cant find one, i have already found someone who sells a front bar. But the only thing is it came off a R33 S2 4 door and i have a R33 S2 2 door. So my question is, would there be any difficulties with the front bar that his got fitting on my car? And also would a series 1 R33 front bar fit on my S2? Soul.
  10. Well i did a smart thing today and drove my car into a ditch. :Hooray for me: When i tried to get out of the ditch i tore my 400r front bar to pieces. Now i am in need of a new front bar. I have called around a few places and the closest thing i can find is a R33 S2 front bar for 4 door. I was wondering the 4 door s2 front bar will fit my S2 R33 GTST coupe. There is also a member in these forums that is selling a S1 front bar. Will that fit also? Your help is always appreciated Thanx Gang Soul. NB: Please i know it was a stupid thing to do but it was raining and i under estimated the slipperiness of the road and my arse flicked out, so no flaming.
  11. PM Sent. Interested in front bar and antenna. Is it series 1 or series 2? Where abouts are you if i wanted to pick up? Thankx Soul

  13. Damn... Dont you hate it when you photoshop stuff and you feel like you have finished but theres always the lingering feeling that somehting is missing? Dezz.
  14. This is great! You can also get them from this site Its not custome but it has certain templates of pixel cars. You can save and edit it. Like mine....

  16. Im in the same situation as you jeffworld2. I've called around a few places. If your looking for the Exedy suppliers in the Campbelltown area, Exedy have advised me that Martins Clutch & Brake 13 Blaxland Road Campbelltown 2560 Phone: 4628 1177 ------------------------ Coventry Auto Parts Unit 1 /7 Mill Road Campbelltown 2560 Phone: 4626 6885 ------------------------ Campbelltown Auto One 45 Blaxland Rd Campbelltown 2560 Phone: 4626 7011 ------------------------- NB: Im not promoting these places in any way nor am i affiliated with them. Just passing the information as it is needed. I ordered my clutch from Martins brake and Clutch yesterday and they said it will be in sometime today. $347.75 for standard Exedy R33 clutch. Im getting my Flywheel balanced and machined at Duncan Foster @ Liverpool (02) 9824 0664. About $110 for the service. I had my stuff done by them last time for my Celica when i did an auto to manual conversion. They were excellent and the workmanship was outstanding. Now on a sort of related topic without starting a new thread (and without hijacking this thread too much- apologies). I am in need of a 1997 S2 R33 Flywheel for a GTS-T. What i wanna do is get the preperation done first (machining and balancing) and then install it in one go instead of jacking the car up, taking the old flywheel out, machining+balancing and then installing. It will take too long and too much effort. I will send you my flywheel when i take it out. Like an exchange. Anyone willing to send me a flywheel?
  17. Would an R34 GTT front bar fit on an R33 S2 gst-T. I saw this one and it looks pretty good.
  18. Would an R34 GTT front bar fit on an R33 S2 gst-T. I saw this one and it looks pretty good.
  19. Thanks for all your replies everyone. Appreciate the time and effort you all took to post. Thankyou. No my only dilema is... To keep the 400R front and repair the cracks... Or to try and source a genium plastic front bar. Are the geniun plastic ones harder to damage or are they pretty much the same as the fibre glass ones. And if im planning on installing a FMIC, would a geniun one be suitable? i know i might have to cut out some sections of the original ones to fit it. Would that be better and look cleaner? or stick with the 400R? I also see that the 400R front is worth about $500 or so. That is another factor of keeping it too. What do you all think? The pics bellow show the cracks. First pic: front view: bottom of the bar: whole bar is split. Second pic. Crack near top corner near light (1). Also Gutter scrapes (2) And pretty much the same on the other side
  20. I was searching for skyline stuff on Ebay one night and came across this car... 1998 40th Anniversary Skyline on Ebay Im really interested in finding a front bar the same as that, original if possible. I have a 400R kit on my S2 R33 atm but being fibre glass, speed bumps and drive ways are not too kind to it. Can anyone give me some idea on how and where to get it. I messaged the seller and he advised me that it is a genuin 40th anniversary kit. Any ideas on how to go about getting one for my car? Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks in advance gang.
  21. When I got done for my pod, what i did was got some aluminium, made two sides and a lid and bolted it to the car. I managed to pass with that. I must admit i was really surprised as it looked really really shonky. The epa guys/gals might be a tad more strict with the way they pass things. Good luck with that. When the cop pulled me over and told me to pop my bonnet, he point to the metallic pod filter in my car and said that i would have to get rid of that as it was illegal to have it in there. I asked him why it was illegal and his reply was, "because in the engine bay, temperatures get really really high and pod filters have a tendancy to catch fire and explode or something". He said afterwards, " i dont want to be the one that gets called out to the scene because my car caught on fire and exploded because of the pod filter..."
  22. I purchased my 97 S2 R33 for $23k with "wound back" 61k on the clock. It had 17s, short shifter, exhaust, 400R body kit, HKS BOV, HKS intercooler, apexi AFM, HKS metalic pod. I dealt with Herman from Envy and he was great. Nice guy he was. Thumbs Up here for Envy & Herman.
  23. I got pulled over a 3 months ago in my S2 R33. Got done for exhaust - which the cop picked with his "expert ear" as being too loud. My Pod which was open (no box) and my atmo BOV. All i did was went to an authorised inspection station first, asked them what i needed to do to pass for a blue slip and then fixed them. In the end i made a box for my pod, got a exhaust reading from an exhaust place that does the testing and put in the stock BOV. I had to get new rear tires as well before he passed me. But i would suggest you take it to the inspection station first and show him what you have, ask them what it would take to pass and then just make those changes. Good luck with that. Hope things go well for you.
