  1. yeah. that'd be good. Car is in a million pieces, but it looks shithot. combination of factory silver paint, muffler-dragging suspension and buddyclub P1s make for a surprisingly sexy combination. May need to address a few minor panel issues and the front fac-option spoiler too. will be a good excuse though. hopefully by then the full stereo transplant will be complete too.
  2. ooops, forgot to mention - its grey.
  3. Gday team, good to meet lauren and paul yesterday. seem like *thumbs up* nice peeps Niz, I have a standard wing in silver which is not going to see the boot of my car if I have anything to do about it. Its the square slightly higher factory option one.
  4. I already felt good about watching you roll around on the ground.
  5. btw, thanks to adam32, who offerred his saturday evening input. as it turned out, the fiasco was justified. Although I speak for myself, I felt much better about spending all that time rolling around on the ground once the piece of rogue gasket turned out to be one inch long. blade chewage averted.
  6. improvise, my advice is dont expect anything. they probably didnt even change the oil. If I were you Id ask them.
  7. anyone willing to volunteer a cheap place to get my guards lipped and my coilovers raised? must be nearby to subi.
  8. can you swing a sack of door knobs? can I !!! well, here's a sack. You'll have to supply your own knobs.
  9. theres probably a trade off between a big nut that makes a bigger heat sink and is therefore better able to cope with extreme temps, and one which is munted already but is bigger.
  10. thinking the go might be to use three of the orginal nuts, and one new one. though apparently the reason they come loose is because the heat breaks down the taper and then they heat-and-cool themselves like a snake down the thread. will have a look and see what the size diff is i guess.
  11. yeah bro. says that nissan doesnt stock the 10mm hexags, but they gave her some slightly smaller nuts with the same thread. apparently theyre off an N/a manifold...presumably a maxima or something. nuts are pure metal, with locking via a tapered end. acording to nissan, all nissan engines use 7.5W30 oil out of the factory. according to the bloke at nissan, a W50 or 60 is going to be able to run hotter, but is probably too thick to be any good. sounds like the 10W40 is probably the way to go. noticed xspeed use the same shitznitz.
  12. waiting for friday afternoon to turn into the weekend.
  13. are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? I hate friday afternoon waiting.
  14. holy crap! that's a fair bit of going fast!
  15. you will be pushing it to fit a 12 in that space between the back seat and the boot. Its probably gonna need to be a ten. good luck !
  16. Ive got the 500 WRMS response 5 channel. theyre ****ing awesome for the price, particularly if compared with other dollar/wrms amps, sold at car stereo/budget home entertainment stores. no audible clipping, and enough power that you can run gains fairly low and minimise distortion whilst maintaing good dynamic response. the only critisism I might have is that they arent particularly efficient. be prepared for the need to buy a big battery that can deliver lots of current - or alternatively buy an altronics cap(they are also good and cheeep)
  17. the answer is yes. it does fit. some time back, hot 4s did a build up for an s13 or an s14 using an irregular shaped box with a 'beveled' angle so the sub faced the rear passenger boot corner. I think from memory they used a response 10" and made about 136dB. not bad at all for a 100% stealth install!
  18. adam, re: getting the gasket out. does this equate to pulling the manifold off??
  19. doh! cam quote of the day: "hey, look..you can see where its all cracked and ****ed up, no wonder its leaking......see, just there" *points. prods* "binga-ding" *censored*
  20. bah, night all. me go to beds so I can go to work tommorrow and try to explain to my boss why getting tyres for my car is more important than rocking up for work. zzzzzzzzzzz...
  21. yeah paul. rego in about 2 week Im guessing. in the mean time Im gonna need to: figure out what the rules about pods are and possibly fit the standard airbox raise the suspension about half a foot so I can actually travel around corners without ripping the quarter panels off, and fix that manfold so it sound like a badass skyine instead of a badass sodastream
  22. yeah, paul that first drive of joyesness is on the other side of a manifold to turbo gasket which is currently XXXXX@#ed micko Id agree. the cabin in jap cars are simply too small on the whole to tolerate smelly smells.
  23. yeah, I reckon yo're probably right micko, but my pocket wont be recovering for quite some time.. budget has been demolished to the tune of about 4 gs. plus the stress has affected my work and my home life.
