quick update. spoke to a workshop who have done this conversion a few times. and they assured me that the auto ecu WILL work fine. however the best solution appears to be to use the RB20 loom and splice it into the RB25 stagea loom where needed. eg) injectors, coil packs, running vct wire to the ecu etc. ez.

The engine is a S1 stagea RB25DET ie non-neo but a series 2 RB25DET. QWK32 thanks for the info on the rwd ecu... so that leaves either getting a neo motor (unlikely, as they're quite a bit more expensive... i'd just go the aftermarket ECU route if this was to be the case), or getting hold of an R33 S2 rb25 loom and ECU, and switch it out for the stagea rb25 loom? I have an R32GTS4 and blew the little RB20DET (AWD obviously) Im planning on putting in a Ser 2 RB25DET from a stagea as its replacement and was wondering if i could use a RWD ser2 RB25DET ECU to run her or am i needing a stagea one? I think with the power FC, if it can run both then it should be fine as well. I think it should be fine as the AWD is controlled via a different computer? If anyone knows about this i would appreciate it =) Also does anyone know if the RB20 flywheel will bolt up to the Ser 2 RB25DET AWD, or do I need to get an RB25 flywheel? TRUE. I was wondering this, my mate said he knew the AWD had both sets of holes. But i wasn't sure if they did the same on the RWD's. Yeah so it looks like I'l need an adapter, which is what I was asking. Do u know how much an adapter would set me back? obviously if it starts adding up it may negate it being the cheaper/easier option. Still undecided depending on a few things, but stagea 25 prob b the go. Ive heard the neo can b anal with trans control or something? non-neo stagea RB25DET straight in. N could i bolt my RB20 sump onto that RB25 neo, or would this just be a waste of time? Cheers guys.

You didn't read the post properly champ. RB20 AWD sump modified onto RB25DET from a RWD ser 2 at least, I was pretty sure i just had to change the sump studs, which i have the $3000 drill n pieces to do so easily =P meaning it would be an AWD RB25DET....... And bubba. Thanks mate, u know what ure talking about...finally my question actually answered! That's wot i was thinking too =P cheers for the tip on the neo's control units. I wouldn't have gone for one anyways unless it was cheap as, but not at all anymore, unless i'm going straight to aftermarket management, yes? Depending what pops up for what price i will either modify the RB20 sump n onto RB25 with the RB25 ecu obviously, or knock in an RB25 out of a stagea most likely non-neo. The reason i ask this is because i have the tools n drill bits to easily be able to modify my RB20 AWD sump to an RB25DET RWDmaking it arguably easier to source and cheaper for me than a stagea 25. However some other kids have said u can pickup stagea RB25's cheap now, and I was assuming they'd b at least $2-3k, hence why I was thinking about modifying my sump. But apparently they're going for ~$1200 so i'l most likely go with that obviously! Still, I would like to know for general knowledge if it IS just the sump that's different between the AWD and RWD RB25's, i assume so at the moment but enlighten me if that's not the case =P Thanks again, have a sweet weekend guys!

Cheers guys! I was working on the assumption i'd be paying around $2-3k for a stagea 25. Hence why I was like i can grab a rwd RB25 cheap as n have the tools n drill to actually easily modify the sump piece of piss =P But if i can grab a RB25DET out of a stagea, even if auto n convert n knock that in from just crap or something that would b sweet @ the prices u guys r talking! - If stagea 25 cheap enough n preferably manual (bit of a b!tch to find) il get that obviously. but if they're all autos everywhere n no manual boxes and neo's il prob just mod the AWD RB20 sump as ive found out it's only the sump studs, so for me it's cheap as n quick to do as well =P Thanks again guys, have a tip top weekend!

R32Gtst for newbies is the same as a GTS4 just without AWD so they share the same parts and engine. Comes with full wiring harness ready to plug into R32. $90 6 x RB20DET/RB25DET ser1 coil packs. NO CRACKS. On aluminum mounting rails! perfect condition was swapped out for splitfires. $150 1 x crank angle sensor RB20DET/RB25DET ser1. $150 Factory RB20DET/R32 Intercooler with factory piping. Perfect condition again, great cheap replacement! $80 2 x AFM's. NOT SURE but i remember them working. Because of this i'l sell someone the two for the price of one to ensure ure not robbed. $150 1 x radio frequency converter for FM. (Gets Jap radios back onto AUS frequency so u dont have to buy a new head unit. Easy install.) $30 4 x Factory R32 Gts4 rims 16'' 5 stud. Hi guys, have some coil packs to sell that are no longer needed. Full set of 6 in perfect running condition when taken out of my car about a week ago. No cracks whatsoever on coil packs and they are still in extremely good condition. Can be used in all RB20DET motors and series 1 RB25DET. Got some split fires I picked up off a mate so these have to go! No use sitting in my shed for another week! Located in Perth (Pickup) Will post at buyers expense in AUS. Asking $30 each or $150 for the set. Wont find better condition, my engine has done just over 110,000 km/s legit (know from timing belt change) so these packs have a lot of life left in them yet. Definately NOT for R33GTR or R34GTR. It will only work on the R32 series ie.(R32GTR and R32GTS4) The fuse bypass will not work on 33 & 34 so don't concern yourselves with it anymore. Take it easy
