  1. In total agreement mate, sometimes it's just a joke on Perth streets...Something needs to be done about the incompetency, stupidity and lack of confidence of some (most) drivers in Perth. People dont understand driving like a retard actually causes more accidents than driving sensibily and confidently! Also the driving test instructors have so many different personal levels of what constitutes a pass to get your licence it's also unbelievable, if these people do their jobs properly now we wont be bitching in 10 years when these young drivers turn into older more retarded drivers. In getting my licence i failed the first time for driving down the middle of a carpark when the lane was barely big enough for my car and another 1/3 of a car, then my next test was with the chief instuctor who was meant to never pass anyone, i passed with 98% and it got me wondering; how crap must people be (he was a very fair tester, and it was just commonsense driving).....thats def not a brag either, just trying to highlight the point. Cheers
  2. Check the termostat, the radiator, the coolant could be crap as well. Failing those simple checks that can be achieved by one stop to supercheap auto and looking at the radiator. Ask your mechanic about it, and as ppl have said before have the right radiator thats adequate to keep the engine cool, could also utilise another fan if still happening. Dont go round thrashing your car non stop or it's gona overheat clearly also. Heat dissipation isn't the RB20's strong point...Buying a thrashed out car also isn't the best start, but hey. Cheers
  3. Your dreaming getting a mint condition R32 GTS-t from jap with reasonable km's for around $9K unless you get really really lucky. It's def not worth $15k in my book i wouldn't be wanting to pay more than $12.5K for it, if you get it for that it's usually a lot better getting them from jap than thrashed out ones in Aus...Depends also what clutch and suspension, my estimate is on pretty decent gear in there. My advice if it's really clean in mint cond try and get your hands on it; for the right price of course. Also "silver gts-t" the 89' type M's did have that front bar there is one on my 89-90 GTS4, from factory. Cheers
  4. I agree with almost everyone here, really thats overkill. It looks about as functional and as sexy as a 240GL Volvo without an engine... Having said that the rims are killer, too bad they won't fit without the widebody kit. Cheers
  5. Come on guys, cant be that uncommon. i'm thinking of just bypassing the clip, afterall it's just there so you can take out the AFM and air box "readily". But talk up if you know how to set wires, i'm quite sure i need a special tool. But i'm after info on anyone doing it another way with more regular equipment. Cheers, Rhys
  6. Hey guys the wires going into the plug connecting my AFM to the car is being very dodgy. For instance the car will surge forward lose all power then surge forward again and also just completely cut out, not electrically just the engine "stalls" as such. I know the problem is at the wires going into the AFM plug cos if u get out and jiggle the wires the surging or stalling is temp fixed until it does it again. So does anyone know how to properly re-set the wires in the clip or had any experience with the same problem. I caled Nissan and it's just $3000 odd for an entire engine wiring loom, they dont sel seperate plugs which doesn't help. Any comments welcome on the topic, (Car isn't really drivable at the moment cos i get too annoyed having to pop my bonnet all the time to "jiggle" the wires) Thanks in advance. Cheers Rhys
  7. Hey guys just got my guards rolled, and they will fit in fine. thanks for everyone who shared thier experience. If anyone wants to know I got them rolled by "Auto fx" in Perth for $110, did my mates car too and they are perfect. Reccomend them. Cheers, Rhys
  8. If you want decent sedan preformance 9 times out of 10 it's gona cost you more in petrol, but ask everyone here if it's worth it and they'l say yes. Obviously it's going to cost you less for a NA skyline, as someone said before it's cost him about $55-$60 for 400kms.. Cheers, Rhys
  9. My mates R32 has GTR suspension and 17x9 rear and 17x8 front, it handles rediciously well through chicanes and yet is very drivable not being too stiff. I wouldn't dream of wanting to go in a commo through a tight local government chicane at 120Kph, especially if it wasnt at HSV. R32's def arn't boats in my opinion. An R33 GTS auto is getting close to being called a boat though. R34's i wouldnt consider boats they'l outhandle a commodore.. Anyways concluding comodores are the boats, generally, and skylines arn't, generally.. PS: If they think they are better, the best way to shove it in thier face is to go to a track day and give them a flogging, and say whoever loses pays both the fees. simple - just win Cheers, Rhys
  10. Cheers guys, i will most prob have either 235's or 245's all round. Getting the rear gaurds lipped tomorrow, so fingers crossed everything just turns out ok when i put the rims on a bit later. Again any new further info is welcome. Also while i'm typing i think my AFM is playing up a bit. Quite sure it's the wires going into the connection to the AFM that is the problem. It's causing the car to surge forward with power then cut out and surge again when driving (especially in 3rd), but once the bonnet is popped and the wires going into the AFM are jiggled around a bit it's fine again. So anyone who has had the same problem let me know, just to put my mind at ease rather than anything else. Thanks, Rhys
  11. To get the GTS4 in RWD simply either remove the fuse in the engine bay fuse box, or install a switch which cuts the circuit. I believe you have to reverse the car a bit once changing back to AWD. I am thinking of installing the switch in my GTS4 soon. With regard to a GTS4 not being suitable for sideways fun sometimes, this is simply incorrect, there is obviously more weight up front but all it takes is getting used to. Last time i checked a GTS4 weighs around 1480 Kg's with/without a driver (cant remember). BUT if you plan on running around all the time in RWD it does seem quite pointless buying a GTS4, the only time i'd use RWD is for a bit of fun or perhaps a future drift meet - thats me though. End of day "up to you".... Cheers, Rhys From Expierince on the issue does installing the switch damage or harm the AWD system in any way? Also any further input into installing the switch, and any bad "side effects" on the GTS4 would help me and others. Certianly don't want to "hi-jack" your thread but it is an issue of query for me too, Thanks.
  12. Yes that did help a bit, i will double check the offset of the rims, but I am quite certiain it will pose no problems as my mates car is an R32GTS (Yes i am aware that GTS is 4 stud, these rims are 5 stud he has a converson) which he is putting a VH45 in soon. Although the rims have never been on his car as they arnt big enough to accomidate his new large discs etc. Anyways any further comments are welcome. Cheers, Rhys
  13. Yes i am aware that with the 4WD the diameter of the rubber and usually rims should be the same. although in my case i will try and just stretch 235's on the rear and also put some on the front. I have mates with GTR's who have told me it will be more than sufficient as i assume too. Any further comments from someone who has doen this before on a GTS4, but also gaurds are same as a GTS-t obviously so if uv'e got 17 x 8'' s and 17 x 9'' s tell me what you had to do. Quite sure will def have to lip the rear gaurds, but will I have to get adjustable rear camber arms so i can get the rear rims under? Cheers
  14. Hey guys i'm buying some rims off my mate, and i'm thinking i will probably need some adjustable camber arms to fit the rears in the guards, or could i get away lipping the rears? Also if anyone knows (Most of you) what the maximum width of rim that the factory guards can accomidate? This is baring in mind that the car will be lowered later. Anyone with knowledge or experience in this feel free to fill me in. Cheers
  15. Hey guys my GTS4 came with a Blitz turbo timer from japan and was obviously removed to get the car complied. Was just seeing if anyone knows where i can find the wiring diagrams for the blitz turbo timer, it is not a new model and is not a dual turbo timer. Any expertiese would be appreciated, i did do a search on the forums as well for those whom may be wondering. cheers, Rhys
  16. Hey guys my sister is planning on selling her suzuki swift Gti in the next few weeks, in WA. Here is some info on the car *Full 2 1/4' exhaust *Extractors *Pod Filter *Dark Blue Duco *Manual 5spd *Immobiliser and Autowatch alarm installed with central locking *15' mags with 205 rubber i think it is *Lowered on king springs *Genuine MOMO steering wheel *Aftermarket stereo just Tape Deck but better speakers etc *Custom rear "Gti 1.3" badging *Aftermarket gear stick *The full factory Gti bodykit as expected Obviously these were the little sport car versions of the Swift not the slow dodgy econo model, it had 74kw factory from a 1.3L engine and weighs in at less that 900Kg, obviously would have more power now with the light mods. Good quick little car for what it is, fun to drive, not thrashed like some. The year of manufacture is 1993 or 1994 (forgot will check if matters) Serviced every 5000km Asking price is $6,650 ono Very clean little car, no hidden attributes Get in touch if interested Cheers, Rhys
  17. Yeah cheers. I am aware it could be a fair deal of different things was just seeing if anyone had the exact same problem, will be servicing car in next few days as time permits.
  18. Hey guys literally got my GTS4 today (finally) and was heading down the freeway and my mate was behind me in his car and when i was going through the revs in 3rd apparently he said there was whiteish smoke coming out my exhaust. We later revved the car stationary and there was apparenlty a lot less smoke and when I got another mate to rev it for me so i could view the exhaust i noticed no smoke. I thought it could possibly be that the turbo is going, the car has 88,000km just seeing if anyone has had any similar occurances or if it is no dramas. Any expertise would be much appreciated. Cheers, Rhys
