Yea I have no idea about tuning but the car did idle once the temp came up at 1500rpm -

So the consensus seems to be give a bit more load and see if it clears up, I guess for an engine that was built for 10,000 rpm 2500rpm is idle and with a 35r it won't make any form of boost until 4k The catch can is empty so it just seems to be crank case ventilation. -

Yea I was going to request a compression and leak down test, one of the tuners questions was to check what tolerances were used however it seems that I cannot get on to Paul. -

Thinking about it its prob been 15 minutes max and it wasn't idling it was free revving. And it wasn't all at once it was 3-4 times over 6 months just to keep fluids around the engine. I couldn't drive the car due to the haltech just having a base map. -
Hi All, Been a while since I've been on the forums, I've finally sent my 5 year build off to be tuned but the tuner called me today to say he has concerns by the amount of smoke/blow by coming out of the filter on the catch can. He said that he ran it on the dyno for almost 2 hours yesterday while getting the idle sorted etc hoping it could clear up when warmed up, He stated that he hasn't been over 2500rpm. His concern is the potential for a ring not sealing, and that he recommended the engine be pulled down and checked for issues. I've tried to get onto the engine builder Paul however been unsuccessful so far. I've spoken to a few people who've said it sounds like the bore could be glazed over and just needs to be given some to clear it out and they asked if it was running rich when first fired up which it was 9:1 I don't know what I should tell them to do? a) Pull the engine and check it out or b) wind it up a little more on the dyno and see if it clears up. Engine had done roughly 20 - 30 minutes of idle/free revving when I first started it up looking for leaks and getting the timing adjusted prior to going to the tuner. The Tuner comes recommended and highly regarded in QLD. I'm looking for opinions and recommendations? Blowby similar to this vid: Engine is a RB24 Cheers

lol That is a great idea Roy, Pretty much the only thing holding me back is the matter of selling my House and building a new one and finding the spare cash to tow and tune the car.

Hi All, I have decided to sell my Twin Turbo setup for my stroked Rb20 to move back to a big single. Parts I have up for sale are: Pair of HKS 2530's $1,500ono - Turbos have done around 6000km and have minimal shaft play and brand new HKS adjustable actuators fitted. Pair of Ported and ceramic coated standard GTR manifolds $500ono Pair of Tomei GTR Dump pipes $850ono - These dump pipes are cast stainless steel and have only been fitted to the car and the engine idle for less than 15 minutes. AutoBahn88 Ti GTR Front Pipe $400ono - As with the dump pipes this front pipe was fitted at the same time and in as new condition. Pickup is best for all items due to size and weight however I can arrange shipping if you choose at the buyers expense. Feel feel to Email ([email protected]) or PM and I'll do my best to reply as quickly as possible. Items are all located in Brisbane West. I look forward to any questions or comments. Cheers Cameron

You are correct not sure what I will do there yet... Monies a bit tight atm so havn't bothered renewing my GAS for my TIG so can't make up the piping. On another note, I finally got around to starting the car but the last hing i the list was the hook up the oil pressure guage wires .... Friggin thread broke off... Does anyone know where I can pickup one of these? If not i'll just Fab one up during the week.

Hi All!! I thought it was time I updated this Half Decade project thread. So engine has been installed and all plumbing has been completed, Been spending some time on getting all the fuel and oil lines perfect and checked for leaks etc. I must say getting all the water liens hooked up was a little mission in itself and at a few points they met with their maker! Here's a couple of piccies of how it was at 3pm this afternoon, I hope to turn the key tomorrow once I update the Ecu with a few things that have changed. P.S when the manafactuer of a product says you need a specific TPS for their Throttle Body always tripple check that they are sure which one you need or you waste alot of time making a stupid adapter to make it suite! Anyway I hope to update this thread tomorrow with good news!

Hi, It's still in progress, having some dramas with the piping for the turbo outlets. Should havign it running in a few weeks hopefully. Awaiting a CAS from Red R Racing still also.

Hi all, I wondered if anyone had a good image of the water plumbing on the intake side of an rb20det? I ask because i am just about to put my rebuilt motor back in the car and making the pipe up from scratch but not 100% sure where everything that attaches to the block for the heater lines goes or the flows. I am planning not to plumb the heater core back in so need to know the flow paths of OEM so I can plumb it back in to the radiator swirl pot. Cheers Cameron

Chris, Nissan Lied to me then! What sort of monies would we be looking at? Feel free to PM me. Cheers Cameron
