  1. Take that skyline in my avatar, swap the front bar to a broken piece of sh%t and you have my car! Sorry to get your hopes up mate. Cheers Ryan
  2. yeah i think it will be firbeglass.... Thanks for the help all!
  3. you will encounted alot of little fiddly problems along the way if you decide to go down the rb24 path as it is not a usual upgrade people make to their 20's and im pretty sure there would be a fair bit of machining work etc that would need to be done due to the new clearances. If i remember correctly HPI even changed their engine builder at one stage during their build-up. An rb25 is a much more well know, tried and tested way of bagging good results. You should speak to the workshop you take your car to and ask them their opinion as they are the ones that will have to do the work in the end. Good luck and make sure you keep us informed as the build process gets going!
  4. tru, thanks for that mate. What differences are there between fribeglass front bars and the normal plasticy ones. I would have thought fibreglass ones would be more likely to crack/break if you were to hit something? Who has a fibreglass one and have you had any problems? Cheers Ryan
  5. Is it purely for the track or street, or a bit of both? And if track... drift, drag or circuit?
  6. I have been looking for quite a while now and cant find anywhere in Australia that sells the trust front bar for an r32 gtst. I am in brisbane and was going to get it from DMD but it looks like they dont exist anymore. I have found a coupl of places in NZ but they are $550 before you pay for freight to Aust. Anyone bought or know where you can get one from Aust. Copy is fine as long as it is of good quality. From what i've heard the genuine ones are $1000+ so thats a bit out of my price range. Cheers Ryan
  7. do you know what width the rims are? 7 inch?
  8. yeah i'm hoping that due to the widebody front guards if they are a bit close on the inside i coulde throw in some spacers or something so we'll see how we go.. Cheers!
  9. Nice, Thats exactly what i wanted to hear... Cheers mate
  10. hmm judging by warrens thread they should be alright He seems to have bought pretty similar sized wheels/tyres as i'm after. But his car isnt lowered. Should that be a problem?
  11. Hey all, I am looking at buying a set of rims/tyres but i can only get them from NSW and i live in Brissie so i was wondering if they would fit on my car before i purchased them and just hoped. The dimensions are: 18X8.5 +35 offset With 245/40/18 tyres most likely, maybe 255's on the back They are to go on an r32 gtst with widebody front guards Cheers Ryan The car is lowered approximately 1.5-2 inches if that matters. They are only for the street so they wont need huge clearances for body roll etc. as i have a set of 16inch rims for the track
  12. haha yeah stuff the rebuild..spend the money on 8 rb20's and just hit the track! I am definately going to rebuild my rb20 and bump it out to a 22 or 24 when the time comes because the dark side is a place i never want to go to It came with that engine so i wanna keep it and see what it is capable of. Obviously there are other ways that will make much more power but im not after a 10sec car etc. just something fun and a bit different.
  13. Isn't the different noise experienced by the rb20 as opposed to the rb25 due to injector positioning? Not really sure, just thought i read that somewhere and i also remember reading in the HPI magazines during their rb24 build up that they thought the rb24 had a little more torque than a standard rb25. If your willing to pay some extra money and encounter a few problmes along the way then go the rb24 and you will end up with a pretty cool engine setup that looks stock but has a little more low-down go but it would be alot easier and cheaper to just go the 25.

  15. i got a ces dump and its insane...would highly reccomend it man. may be expensive but the power increase was crazy
  16. problem solvered if you need help with it let me know man and i'll pm u how it is done actually really easy
  17. anyone? surely someone has set this up on their car!
  18. I am a little lost with how to set up the gear specific boost control on my avcr. I have the instructions but they dont seem to be very clear. I have set up the gear judge setting so it can differentiate between the gears but i dont know where to go know to set up the gear specific boost. I was able to figure out the rpm specific boost but i am not interested in fiddling with that. cheers ryan
  19. Hey all, I was at Willowbank last night getting a practice in before the Jamboree and was pretty pissed off at the times i was doing. I was only able to get a 2.5sec 60 foot which inturn was only a 14.4 qtr mile time. My MPH was 103 so after talking to some people i should be able to get into the 13's pretty easily with a better launch. My problem is since i was out there last i have put a heavy duty clutch in it so i cant slip the clutch at all any more and also put very stiff suspension in which doesnt allow any transfer of body weight to help my grip factor, also crap tyres doesnt help. With more practise i am sure i could get that down to 2.2 or so but not much lower. With old clutch/suspension and less power i was able to do 1.9sec 60 foot times so it is frustrating me alot. I still have my old standard suspension which i could put back in for the drags which would help alot i think but the shocks are stuffed and have no rebound in them at all so do you think that will be something that is checked during scrutineering or they should be alright. The shocks are soo bad it's rediculous with handling/cornering but should help alot with launch I could fiddle with tyre pressure i guess. Otherwise any ideas? Cheers
  20. Hey, Could you please change my name from RyanCroft to 32DET. Got me a new numberplate! Cheers!
  21. i went to mercury motorsport and got 3' system with ces racing dump and metalcat cat converter. Power increase was huge and it sounds and looks the goods too. Mercury did an awesome job, very helpful with all your qn's too.
  22. I have same problem but passengers side and from all i have spoken to and my own investigations i think the windscreen is leaking a bit and the water is running down behind the dash and ending up on the floor.
  23. yeah that is really interesting cos i have experienced the exact same problem with my car and was able to fix it by replacing the master cylinder. Its got to be something to do with the hydraulics but i dont really know enough to be able to tell you what. Good luck though
  24. Hey all, My standard clutch is about 85,000km's old and is starting to slip in 4th and 5th gears. I was wondering if i replace the clutch plate and pressure plate just with standard items again how long it will last. I have approx 170 rwkw. It only needs to last me 12 months as a quick/cheap fix kinda solution. I will probably be hitting the drags once or twice in the next 12months though. Let me know what you think. Cheers Ryan
  25. correct 10psi is stock so your gonna struggle to run 7 mate.
