Quick Question About R33 S2 Rear Spoiler
Ricos replied to Ricos's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
so should i be looking for a type m spoiler? or are they the same as the series 2 ones? Im pritty sure that the backs on the s1 and s2 are the same anyway? so should fit thanks -
Hey guys this will be a simple one to answer I have an r33 s1 with the arched shape rear spoiler. Can i take that one off and buy a serious 2 spoiler? Is it a difficult/painful process or is it just a matter of getting a panel beater to fit / spray it ? Is it common to just get the "spoiler" off a s2 or doe you have to buy the whole boot door so to speak. Thanks!!

i have probably confused every one The only stock part on my exhaust is my dump pipe....Everything else is 3inch (frontpip, cat, catback etc...) As mentioned above that picture was only to demonstrate which remaining part was stock....Its not my actual exhaust The only thing im missing from my 3" exhaust system is the dump pipe. My dump is still stock for some unknown reason (was like that when i bought the car) So my question is now whether to replace the dump with a 3" split dump or to replace it with a combined split dump/front pipe (and get rid of my exsisting 3" front pipe) http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=276&page=1 VS http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=276&page=1 ----- with the 3 inch front pipe i already have Apparently the split dump/front pipe is better because the waste gate drops into the front pipe rather than back into the dump. Which cause flow restriction and turbulence. Just need someone to enlighten me if this is actually an issue or not ? and if so...how much would it restrict flow... sorry if i have confused every one

Any opinions on what path i should take? Thanks

Could i get away with just replacing the dump pipe? something like this (JJR Split Dump Pipe) http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=276&page=1 OR would it be better to replace with this (JJR Split Dump/Front Pipe) http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=276&page=1 i have read that the JJR dump/front would be better because the wastegate joins lower down the dump, thus minimising turbulence and also, the all in one has less restriction cause there is no flange joining the dump to the front pipe? Are these comments true. Just trying to work out the better option Thanks

I was stumped when i saw it. The whole exhaust is 3" except that part. It was like that when i bought it. Why would someone do the exhaust and not change that part and leave that peice stock. Wierd If i get a new split dump/front pipe, do i need a highflow cat? I dont no if my current cat is stock or not :S is there any way to tell ? Thanks for the help so far guys!!

Hey Guys, Just got a couple of questions about my current exhaust system on my R33 gts-t. I have a 3inch turbo back but its not exactly "ALL" 3 inch back. From the turbo, there is a piece about 20cm long that isnt 3inch that is part of the dump pipe. and it appears to be the stock pipe. If you look at the picture, i have indicated where my 3inch exhaust starts from (Note: picture is not my exhaust its just an example) After looking at my picture, i have a few questions about my current setup: Is this stock piece restricting my 3 inch system. If so, by how much? And should i replace it with a 3" split dump/front pipe? Is a split dump/front pipe roadworthy and "street legal" Im sure many of you will be able to provide me with advice and the assistance i need Thanks

ye thats what they all seemed to say, but for the price. i could through in some extra and get the kit...and know it would sit flush with my bar cause the actual core is smaller 600x260 insteal of 600x300. With the current cooler atm it seems like the whole pipe would hang down, and doesnt seem to be room to run it behind. which would just hit every hump and bump But, i dont no whehter to get a KIT or not bother and just get a R34 SMIC hard decision lol

where do i get these bends from? Truck Bits? is that a shop? Do mandrel (dunno what they are lol) bends come sharp U turns? Lemme know where i can obtain this stuff from and ill look into it further Thanks for the help thus far

How much u recon EAS would charge to make a pipeup like ~R33AzzA~'s. All workshops i called up said about 200-300 which i found pritty step, but then they told me it was alot of work involved :S unless they just didnt wanna do it hahaha It just seems there isnt enough room to run it behind / under like ur suggest and seems it would hang down alot.
-
I have a m sports front bar too....my core is a little different to yours but. outlet is lvl with the bottom of the core. so if i made an underneath pipe like urs the 180 bend would be alot sharper. I called up a few mobs and they wanted something like 200-300 bucks for the pipe... so i figured it wouldnt be worth it. Extra couple hunder and i can get a new kit :S Plus 200-300 bucks was step if it were to hang down and get caught on every speed bump!!
-
Who did your pipework ? How big is ur core ? 600 x 300? I have a 600 x 300 x 70 core already but i would need the pipework made up to run back underneath the core, but doing this i am also affraid if will hang to low below my front bar. Hence why im asking what size ur core is. Does ur underneath pipe hang lower than you front bar?

Did you notice a difference when fitting the 34 cooler? or much of a muchness from the stock. They go for about $150?
-
Hrmm... Now i have to make the decision whether to get one of these stealth Just-Jap kits or run a R34 SMIC. Mods: Exhaust (3") BC (12psi) what would u do ?
-
Probably LOL but would u want to run a pod? I think id prefer the stock air box. Quiter and cooler air

thanks mate

I fully understand these intake EPA laws and i intend to follow them, however im asking whether having a FMIC on an R33 with airbags is legal or illegal (when using Just-Japs new intercooler kits that you dont need to cut holes for) these puppies http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Co...er-t209304.html or is it still illegal cause it play an impact on airbags when hit from the front ? cheers
-
Hey guys, As most of you are aware this new option that Just-Jap provides is a fantastic solution to dodge the hacking of the drivers side engine bay that you have to do for other intercooler installs. Which is very illegal if you have a R33 with Airbags. However the question that i raise now, even though there is NO cutting of a whole in the engine bay for these new kits, is it legal to have a FMIC mounted on a R33 with airbags? or is it still illegal to even have a FMIC mounted cause it may interfere with airbags still? Im really keen on these kits but still unsure on how legal these are. P.S i would run the stock airbox so the FMIC would act as my 1 intake mod Thanks

Do you get to drive that little pizza-hut delivery car that knox pizza hut has? Thats pwnstar
-
Ye ill do that if i decide to buy one I have the factory piping still, i keept all my Stock intercooler parts when i upgraded. For a rainy day Im just not sure if having a FMIC mounted even with the stealth kit is legal, due to airbag sensors and what not...i need Nismonoid to clarrify me on this !! Thanks guys
-
haha already tried If having a FMIC like the new cooling-pro stealth kit is not illegal then i would consider just buying a new kit. But if its gonna be illegal cause i have airbags. Then id prob stick my stock back on or just get a R34GTT. Are the R34 GTT coolers easy to come buy ?
-
so you were using the wrong brackets in the wrong spots? looks good in that picture, however it is off center...im sure it could be fixed if you really could be bothered
-
so even tho i have airbags. im allowed a FMIC mounted in its position, just as long as there is NO WHOLE? P.S i havent been caught yet *knocks on wood*, but i wanna get this cleared ASAP and fix it up so know one will ever notice cheers Appreciate the help so far
-
Not sure if you miss understood or not, but i currently have a cooling pro kit installed on my car (via the whole method on the drivers side) Im aware of all these laws which is the reason i want to get rid of it and fix it up before i get caught. My car has airbags so even without the whole does the FMIC pose a problem? and if so is it as simple as taking it off and getting it re-cleared. If there is an issue with having a FMIC like the new justjap ones (where no wholes are required) due to me having airbags i may just go back to stock....or get a R34 GTT side mount. The diagram mentioned above was what i "want" to do, it runs from under the car and up somehow, which means i can fix up the whole. and theres no whole in my engine bay. Not sure if that part made sence when i wrote in OP. So my question really would be, is it still illegal for me to have a FMIC without doing the "no whole" method. (my car has airbags) Would there be an improvent with a R34 GTT SMIC over the stock R33 one? cheers
