  1. I just purchased new JJR coils for $399 from just jap, installed them tonight, and the missfire is worse.... So pissed. Do you need to run a smaller plug gap still? Only thinking this because plug gaps are engineered for most efficiency in igniting all fuel and oxygen in that cylinder...so...not sure about that. Also hit 1.57bar on the stock internals, thought id add that, these 33's are strong suckers...pity about all the damn teething.
  2. Do not touch your car with armourall!!! It will destroy any vinyl, plastic, rubber, etc.. that it touches. It eventually shrinks things, which forms cracks. It also creates a nightmare for anyone trying to repaint a car that has had armourall used on it. Silicon spray is aslo as bad. Go to any local auto accessory shop and ask for Meguiars Natural Shine for the interior and Trim Detailer for the exterior and no i don't work for Meguiars, have just found these products to out perform and out last any other products. Cheers, Chris.
  3. Anyone seen where to get one for a R33 either?
  4. Thank you both very much, Have left the standard battery in and just put in a 40a fuse. Yeah no the HU only has single pre-outs. Thanks for the link, djhatton, that was an extremely interesting read and now fully understand what the gain's all about! Just went and tuned up the sub and the splits accordingly, not to bad at all for now. Will go and get a better HU in the near future and a monoblock amp as soon as funds prevail. Thanks for all your time and help, Chris.
  5. Just got off the phone to Just Cars: 20y/o 1993 R33 GTS25t Minimal mods(rear cannon, $800 stereo,etc...) Remote start immobilizer DBA 5000 series rotors 2 speeding tickets Just wrote off a bike Window tint Been licenced 2 years Agreed value $17,500 Rating 4 (30% discount) Anyway, FULL COMP: $1691 premium, $1100 excess for fire/theft and missus driving, $1500 if i crash it at fault and free if i show the bastard who crashed into it! Can't get much better than that!!!
  6. Cool, pardon the pun, thanks for that Blk33. Nice wheels by the way. How long have you had that?
  7. Hey azn_r33, Does your speed limiter still work? It should hit the fuel cut at just over 180km/h. If that isn't working either you most probably blown a fuse. My cousin did it in his wiring up his ecu i think it was, anyway he didin't even know that it had happened until he showed us how fast it was going now and she just kept pulling. Cheers, Chris.
  8. Hey all, Have just had a lengthy discussion down at the local Bob Jane T-marts branch about Koya Wheels rim Inox 1. Have come to the conclusion (according to their little guidlines book doohicky) that will have to run 19" rims because the widest you can go on a 8"(wide) is 225/40 and this is all the 18" come in. This is all good for the front but won't cut it for the rear. There-for have to go to the 19's to get a 9" wide rear rim so as to run something more like a 255/265 back there. So anyway it comes down to costs. They gave a quote of $1950 just for the rims which i can pay off because they're not available for 3 months, which is ok. The real problem is the tires, they're going to be at least an extra $300 each on top of the price of 18's. Does anyone know of an alternative for decent 'street' tires that brings the $500-$600 entry level price mark down? Also does anyone know a rim destributer that can maybe get these rims in cheaper but keep it on a pay off scheme? Thank-you in advance, Chris. P.S. Is anyone else interested in these rims, a possible group buy???
  9. Cool, 'caus it was only a couple of hundred dollars and if it goes that way can hook up the XS-V6935M's that are sitting around to the sony amp. Would this need a battery upgrade? Cheers again
  10. Yeh, your right the amp powers the splits beautifully. head unit is a boss audio BAMP3000. just have the gain set half way on both channels and full pass to the splits, low pass to the sub. Does gain change the frequency of the sound or or change the like 'EQ?'
  11. Thank-you very much oRiCLe,that sounds like a great idea. Bought the sub from WOW for $90 (clearance item) and a sony XM-504Z for $230 but it just doesn't seem to want to run sony xs-GS160 splits and the sub to its full potential there-for brisbane car sound suggested a MTX mono-block but still couldn't definately match this up with the sub. May-be the problem is with the head-unit? Does it really matter if the rear RCA signal is split to run both channels of the amp?
  12. Thanks for the clarity on that, djhatton. Just found the box, so can now look at the specs. Kenwood KFC-W3009 -Peak power 800W -Maximum power 400W -Rated power (RMS?) 200W -Weight 4.85kg -Impedence 4 Ohms -Frequency response 25~800Hz -Sensitivity 93 dB/W @ 1m Now armed with this info, does anyone know what brand/model mono-block amp would be suitable to run this sub to its specifications?
  13. Sorry for any misleading info, she's an auto. Stock apart from K&N panel filter, 2 1/2" custom exhaust and iridium plugs. True, the more ponnies, the more fuel usage, but seriously, is there any other way?
  14. Yeah, get from 10-12.5km/L on the highway depending on how much overtaking is required, but then take that down to about 9km/L with round town/on boost/frequent starts. How about you?
  15. Does anyone know if your oil pump needs to be upgraded when installing an oil cooler as to maintain sufficient oil flow?
  16. Thanks, Do you know what the power rating is on this amp? Any idea of a ball park figure?
  17. Thats pretty good. Thanks for the multiple replies. Can you organize postage from where you are? I'm on the sunnycoast any idea on cost? Do you run an oil cooler and/or catch can, what purpose do they serve?
  18. Cheers heaps, like everyone probably asks, how long is this stuff available? Also, do you know what the pressure loss is like with the FMIC?
  19. Would anyone happen to know, may-be from experience, what sort of mono-block amp would be ideal for running a kenwood 12" sub (the 'tornado' looking one)?
  20. Another way to have your ignition wires running through an electronic switch is with a remote start alarm, (i.e. viper 791xv). This is also a 2 way paging system which means that properly installed your remote notifies you if your alarm is going off and why. Cost RRP about $1000 for the full system, but then add up to $2500 for fitting especially if you want accessories hook up.
  21. Was the blitz style BOV plumb back? Can you get an adaptor plate to fit to a s1 R33? Where abouts does the FMIC join up on the same car? Does it run up in front of the motor or back underneath to the stock piping?
