2 degrees is fk all I run up to 7 degrees over 98 tune which is pretty common. But still doesn't ping with that extra timing. I'm not sure how close it is to the threshold but not sure if E70 would make it too close to the threshold.

I think the majority, if not everyone that's using this fuel has their car tuned for 85% ethanol and worried about using E70, not the other way round. So gas anyone used E70 on an E85 tune? I might throw some E70 in and see how it looks on the dyno when I get the chance.

Any dtonation from the lack of ethanol? Octane drop?

would chucking in a few litres of Methylates spirits prior to filling up help at all? lol i think it would be wise just to throw some e70 in (middle of winter) and throw it on your dyno to see how it all looks on the graphs.

Have you been able to check the difference between E50 and E85 on a dyno? Or is this just seat of the pants? Light knock etc is very hard to notice at WOT

Yea it would run i guess. But i and others would not recomend it as your pretty much flying blind with no idea how your afrs are 20% is just a guess, you could be way off at certain load points - and its not like your gonna be coasting the car to the tuners, your still gonna have to put the car under load here n there

No it is not a good idea to run E85 on a PULP tune Hell lean = Engine damage So lean in fact that you would struggle to keep the engine running at times

WOT it definately can use up to 40% more than pump98, but if you average out with normal driving it works out to be bout 25% more only - maybee they were quoting the average? I give it to my car but also use it for normal city driving and it gets me 300km a tank, where pump98 gets me 400km

quick question, cant you keep the Helical S15 centre but just use the 4.3 skyline crownwheel and pinnion? that way you have a 4.3:1 helical diff WIN WIN

Reason i ask is because E85 has a less tolerance to contamination so iv heard. What i think is by adding anything to E85 it could slightly change the ratio of ethanol:petrol hence change the way it burns, it doesnt affect regular fuel as much as it would on E85 Anyway something to think about i hate typing on the iphone so apologies if im not clear. Also the E85 that u buy in drums of 200L is apparently different and has a higher octane rating than the stuff from the pump as drum fuel is blended with 98octane fuel, pump E85 is blended with 91 unleaded

I like my car pinging sometimes it sounds cool, especially when I run bout 50psi FFS I asked a simple question and wanted a yes no answer, instead of "you don't need it" can a just get an answer without having to sit here and bullshit and make stories up to fish an answer? Lol fffuuuuuuu and yes e85 can detonate, anything can detonate it's still a fuel in the end, it still has a limit and it's only 110 octane max not 4 gazzilion octane

Hmm I think I may be on the threshold of detonation as the tuner backed some timing off slightly as it pinged a bit therefore detonation could occur with me that's why I just need to know if it would harm anything if I added some octane booster for track work. Whether I need it or not.

yes i agree, however i have no idea if i am already using that headroom already. so for a drag event, or dyno event would the addition of octane booster really harm anything? Just for even more headroom?

Hey guys anyone know if its ok to run Octane booster with E85 - just for a bit of added protection?? Would it affect AFR or the ethanol content?

Im running E85 full time, loving it Km per $ comparison works out to be about the same with 98 PULP Just hoping it would be more widely available in sydney Iv heard that Holden are bringing out an E85 commo this year so this should force availability to increase i think
