  1. well i am on my P's now, but wouldn't that make the system super confusing if exsisting P-platers could still drive turbos etc? should get on to vic roads about it now i think of it...though they tend to be USELESS in the information department
  2. ok...so admittedly i believe that the new power restrictions are a load of scare-mongering, vote gathering bull-fsck... that said. does anyone have ANY idea what the new restricted car list is going to look like at all? i'm betting that i won't be able to drive my beloved '32 any more but i'd like to know for sure so i can sell it asap if this all does go to the dogs.
  3. gotta read those newspapers carefully people! son of rajab knows i have far too much time to read mine at work the restrictions will only be for the FIRST year of the P's in the new system in terms of a lack of decent cars, the other THREE years (that's right P's will be for 4 years now =/ ) will be as the current system. as for hoon laws...last i checked they were being looked at but not seriously considered.
  4. to clear it up for you, waiting IN the intersection to turn right, the light went red, thus the road laws state i have to clear the intersection. i don't sit in the middle of the intersection and block oncoming traffic. and how would i have run a red? if i'm already in the intersection waiting to turn BEFORE the light went red i'm in the clear to progress when there is a gap or the light changes. fortunately i have a witness who can testify that the guy ran a red light and hit me. i get what you are trying to say, but in this instance the faults on the other party.
  5. Well after a short month of happy ownership i am sorry to say that due to an unfortunate incident involving a person who decided to run a red light, i am now no longer the proud owner of my Skyline. at about 9am this morning her life was taken from her in a cruel and brutal way. As i was waiting in the intersections of Burke and Canterbury Rds to turn right, the light changed and i moved off. lo and behold the 'gentleman' in question broke the oncoming RED light and slammed straight into my passenger side, wiping it out from A to C pillar and going so far as to buckle the entire substructure and the roof. it was good while it lasted. R.I.P. 1990 Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-t Type-M.
  6. i'm not really focused on boost pressure, i'm just new to the whole game and don't want to push too much through my system and blow it up. also i don't have the cash to upgrade the whole thing, hence the question of how much i can safely run through stock internals.
  7. hey guys, apologies if this has been asked before but i couldn't find it with the search. what sort of turbo / boost pressure / both, could i upgrade to safely without upgrading the internals of my RB20?? cheers.

    Scenic Drives

The black spur run is good fun, but can be a little dangerous if you aren't used to twisty bits. the Calder up to Echuca from Melb is a nice little drive, relatively straight and plenty to look at cause of all the little towns. ditto for the Hume. stop at the Ettamogah)pub. it's AWESOME. also the ( i know this is over used, but i love it ) Great Ocean Road is always a classic drive and a real challenge to do it at the speed limit the whole way. finally, anywhere up around Healsville or out past Ferntree Gully is some nice mountainous terrain. the most important thing to remember is that the tempation to speed and have a little fun is always there, but do your best to ignore it. most of these corners are challenging enough at the posted speed limit, so no point breaking it (edited for spelling)
  10. i have the immesurable joy of working for Connex. my job consists of standing around at the flinders st barriers looking bored and letting people through. gotta be the easiest job ever!
  11. didn't see the wheels...i was busy not being hit by it : and yes...it was bloody funny when he ran into the cop car.

    Soccer

although the soccer game was reasonable to watch, it's the after effects of the game that were the problem. i was working at flinders st and the actions of the crowd were absolutely pathetic. it's the only word for it. PATHETIC. examples: - a large group ( ten or more ) of greek supporters were beating a girl because she supported australia. - greek supporters doing burnouts in the street before running up the back of a cop car. - australian supporters throwing bottles at other fans. this is only a fraction of what happened on the night, it was bad enough that SIX police response vans could not control the crowd at federation square. not only did the greek fans reinforce the stereotype of being drunken wog hoons, but the australian fans were just as bad at promoting the yobbo image. if this is what we resort to after a "friendly" soccer match, i'd hate to be around for the world cup matches. if you were involved in the riots you are absolutely pathetic. it wasn't cool, it wasn't "fully sik uleh", it was just plain PATHETIC.
  13. 90% of the time i drive like a nanna. 10% of the time i let the arse slide out a little, bearing in mind that i only EVER do it when i am 100% certain that i have no chance of involving anyone else in any accident if i do lose control. that said, i've been pulled up a couple of times for random licence checks. the funniest was the first as the cop pulled me over, asked for my licence, asked me to pop the hood. we proceeded to have a lengthy discussion about the mods i've done to it ( 3" turbo back exhaust, intercooler, pod etc etc etc ) and he then proceeded to say "well damn this is a nice car indeed, just don't dint it!"...i was so shocked that i didn't get defected ( and yes i'll admit that there are things i could be defected for ) and that he actually APPRECIATED my car i almost died on the spot. i think you'll find that ( area depending of course ) most cops are nice people who just wanna make sure everything is OK, there are very few that will take issue with you for being an import driver, REGARDLESS of wether or not you are in the right / wrong.
  14. i've only had my beloved '32 for about a month now and it's been relatively even. i get the odd tosser in a VL attempting to race me along the Princes now and again, but i'm more concerned about my petrol and speeding fines than i am about racing a bunch of wankers. i do get a lot of dirty looks but not the jealous kind...i live in malvern so it tends to be the looks of 'damn roudy teenager in his loud car'... admittedly my stereo can breach the 140 decible barrier on occasion and i do listen to heavy metal so yes i am in the wrong. but even when i'm listening to my stereo at sane sound levels i get dirty looks from all the rich toffs who scoff at the "jap crap" that blows away their aging euro cars and 4WD's. i also get a lot of compliments, to the point of people coming up and asking if they can actually have a look at my car. overall i think it does come down to location more than anything else. a great quote i was once told "People hate what they love the most" sums it up nicely... oh btw... NEVER and i mean NEVER tell a bogan that his holden has a skyline engine...i barely escaped the brawl it cause with my life...though i did get a new pocket knife
  15. there's a couple: Santucci's: in Koornang Rd, Carnegie. Parking out the front is premium at times, but the out back carpark is the safest i know, i park there all the time. Softbellies: in Little Bourke between Elizabeth and Queen. again with the premium parking, tho the alley is pretty safe as long as you keep your eye out for inspectors. AWSOME coffee.
  16. it's a pity that skyline drivers get such a bad rap from idiots who want to show off... Like the guy who, while i was working there, almost slammed his '34 GT-R into the elizabeth st barriers at flinders station when he floored it at the lights, just after the soccer match. he was very proud to be flying his greek flag as he then ran straight into the back of a police response van. he gave a GREAT image to skyline drivers AND greeks that night. fortunately i'm friendly with a lot of cops and i've educated at least a handful to realise that not all skyline/import drivers are dickheads who want to compensate for their lack of penis size.
  17. i personally play around with a 10/10 set up on a set of TEIN Coilovers...it's bloody stiff for road use but i found i works well for drifting...at least for me. as for tires, i'm running a set of Pirelli P-Zero's which provide some decent grip but will let go with enough persuasion.
  18. i've had my little gem of a 32 for a little while now but i'd like to pick up it's appearances. can anyone reccomend a nice looking kit for a 32? i wanna go something other than a GT-R kit...don't wanna look like something i'm not, that's just askin for trouble links to pics or pics would be much appreciated! cheers!
  19. i'll have pics up as soon as i get my camera back
  20. lol true i could have...but my crappy little lancer (don't get me wrong, i love the little 1.5L Carbie Beast) wouldn't have had a chance keeping up with you guys now i stand at least some chance
  21. hey guys, my 'line is running an APEX'i Auto Timer and an aftermarket alarm (not sure on the brand -_-') the problem is, if i forget to wait for the timer to run down and the engine to shut off before arming the alarm, then it sets off the alarm when it does eventually turn off. it's probably a really easy fix but i'll be buggered if i can find the cause. any ideas?
  22. well it's official, i've just taken ownership of my very own R32 GTS-T, and i'm very chuffed about it seeing as i can now join the skyline club and say that i actually own a skyline and not just dream about it! oh and it's black of course!
  23. lol, well next time you go past em, grab an address for me would ya? it'd be much appreciated...heck even a phone number or website is good.
  24. cheers for that...and thanks for the spelling
  25. hey guy's, does anyone know of a good apholsterer in Vic, preferably in the melbourne region? i've been looking everywhere but can't seem to find any down this way. i'm trying to get my '32 retrimmed to make it a little more presentable on the inside. Cheers!
