  8. Hey guys, Ive come across a decent deal on a HKS 2540 turbo for my R33. My motor is currently being rebuilt with forgies, gtr rods, 720cc injectors, 040 pump etc. I will be using the car for street & track drifting. Im after something with good response & decent power output. If this turbo can make me atleast 240 at the rears ill consider it, dont think 220-230 will cut it this time around.... Let me know guys!

  10. ... OK back on topic, can someone read the above i wrote on page 1 and please respond if they understand what im saying?? I dont want a car thats gonna be permanently EPA friendly cos i think iv now realised its just almost impossible. Plus i dont want my car sounding like a Mitsubishi Magna... Basically, I know my exhaust will never pass cos its F***** loud but i dont care cos in the event of an EPA i will just put a standard R33 exhaust on whicl will take me 15 minutes. Things like the Computer which is just plug in will also take me 5 or less minutes to replace in event of an EPA. I guess my main concern is what Turbo & Wastegate i could run which will make me a fairly responsive 260-280 rear wheel kws without having to replace in event of an EPA. Replacing the Turbo with standard would obviously be the most costly thing if it wasnt EPA passable. Am i wrong? So thats basically my only query now guys. What power turbo setup will pass? Changing computer, injectors, BOV, exhaust is not a concern for me with EPA cos they are small things to replace.
  11. hmmm yes... Now this is the thing, i obviously know the way the car is gonna be on the road will not be EPA friendly.. BUT if it were to get an EPA id like to only have to change easy things for it to pass. My main concern is the Turbo. What Turbo/Setup could i run (making a responsive 270-280rwkw) which wouldnt have to be changed if i were to cop an EPA? I know for a fact the labour to remove and re fit the turbo would be the dearest in process of getting the car through EPA. Things like exhaust, aftermarket computer, BOV & injectors i dont mind not passing cos they aren't hard to change with standard parts if i get EPA'd. Especially since im running a plug in Microtech which can be plugged at any time! Am I making sense? And can anyone give me some detailed advice...?

  13. How we goin guys? Just a quick query thats been on my mind alll day. Basically Created Motorsports are gonna start rebuilding my motor very soon. I intend on keeping my R33 as a street/track drift car with about 270-300 rwkws... The following is the setup i will be running: (The only change now from before is i will be upgrading from a GT 28-76R to something like a 700 roller) -RB25 motor with GTR rods & crank, Forged Pistons, O Ringed Block & Race Bearings etc. -720cc Injectors -Bosche 040 Pump -Sard Fuel Reg -Aluminium Radiator -Oil Cooler -Profec B Spec 2 Controller -GT 35 40 (or similar) -Microtech Computer -Garret Front Mount Thats a quick rundown of the setup I will be running. NOW my question IS, is there any possible way at all of running the above setup and having the car make very decent power which would pass EPA Emissions Tests???? I've heard of a few guys pulling this off. Just wondering how they went about it/the tips/tricks etc etc. I understand that an after market computer isn't EPA friendly, either are bigger injectors, or a boost controller etc etc. So how have some of these guys made such power without the above crucial mods which are needed to do so?? Please advise! Thanks heaps.

  16. My question is, where is the drifting done at Drag Tag????? Have they now built a track there or something?? There isn't even enough room to comfortably do controlled donuts in second gear on there... Its sized to suit burnouts only and MINOR drifting. There is no way id bother taking a proper setup drift car there cos theres no room to do anything decent. Untill now all ive seen there is V8 statesmans etc doing burnouts on the brakes... Can someone confirm the area has been extended or these guys have built a track for circuit/drift application? Thanks!
  17. lol, a black bonnet on a car with a bright red bucket seat & mini spool isnt a try hard look. Its a) funny, b) tuff, c) indicates the car is never straight. It will cost me f**k all... $150 at most. Main reason y im doing it, is even though its a holden i dont want the car i drive to look like an aussie car... lol. I know it sounds stupid but im not the type to be seen driving an aussie car, its never been anything but a skyline thats y i feel kinda weird. lol, Hence the wacky mods.

  19. Very soon bonnet will be black with a White letter box grill & sticker will be put back on the black bonnet once re painted... Should i go for mat black or gloss??? im leaning towards gloss.....
  20. haha very true mate! I tell ya what though, from when i first bought the car its come a loonngg way. I really didnt expect to spend money on it, but when i saw the potential of these things i just fell in love and began doing stupid things to it. It is a very underated car. I couldve spent 8 or more grand on a AE86 or something which wouldve had f*** all balls which could be used for nothing but getting thrown around on the track. Instead i spent $1100 on this wagon and spent about 3gz on it to make it a car thats quicker than most auto V8's & non turbo BA's, VERY reliable, VERY driftable (thanks to whiteline , & u can honestly use the car for absolutely anything. I even put my go-kart in it when i take it to the track. At the moment it owes me just over 4 grand. I'll definitely put up some pics tonight!!
