Thanks for the comments guys! We lost the golf today if anyone was interested... It was a knock-about game between mates, two teams of 4 ball ambrose, and the cheating bastards on the other team brought in a ring-in who was playing off 2, and he was on bloody FIRE. We were playing ahead, and would watch him step up and NAIL the tee shot and land it about 2-7 metres from the pin. He did this for 7-8 holes in a row.... LITERALLY!!! So obviously they then had 7 straight chances at Eagle or Birdie, and with 4 chances at every putt, they didn't miss. Bloody hell 4 under played 9 under (stroke calculation, no handicaps used) Some pics before I hit the turps tonight... Corsa race seat... Somehow, this thing seems to be getting tighter and tighter as I work on the car. I couldn't possibly be putting on weight, so someone is obviously making the seat smaller!!!

Hmmmm... Why's the front bar off the car? Not sure, but I'll give you a hint
-
Gimme a few months... I need to work on my handicap too

18X10 +12 on an R32 is quite ambitious Yes, this car will require more than guard rolling, I fear that panel beating might need to be undertaken, but I'm going to wait until we get the suspension in there and initial setup... The negative camber will give me a bit of extra clearance...
-
I gotta get up at 5am for a 6:15am tee off tomorrow NOT how I imagined I'd spend my first day of Easter..... But for now............ some more pics! Buddy Club P1 Racing QF - 7.45 kgs

Well my first comment is that I have always like Sparco seats... I guess they just fit my body nicely. Secondly, if you are of slim build, the Pro2000 will probably be too wide in the hip area for you. I have a Pro2000 and replaced with with a Sparco Corsa which is much tighter. I don't move around AT ALL in the Corsa (I could lose a few kgs ), but am able to do the bum-dance in the Pro2000 seat.

New Threat To The Gtr's Dominance? New V8 Skelta!

Looks like someone threw up in pit lane and stuck some wheels on it -
"Japanese invasion"? Stupid commonwhore loving yobbos.

I dropped by Superlap and remembered why I was going through all this trouble and expense After months and months of seeing endless streams of money fly out the door and working tirelessly on a car that doesn't even move, it's so easy to forget what waits for you at the end of the road... You need to goto a few race meets and remember what we're building these stupid things for!

Superlap 2009 Gets A Green Light!

Cold. Wet. Miserable. -
Mine is running, and it's bloody loud! I love it... Definitely too much for a road car, there's no way you could live with it everyday, but it's got a throaty rumbling growl note to it... I'll take a video of it on the weekend... Oh, and I've got a "race-modified" cat I'll go for the titanium front pipes later... I have more than enough immediate future costs coming up in suspension and brakes! I'll build the "proper engine" in a few months... This one is still reading 160 across all cylinders, so I just went for all the bolt-ons and oil control mods... That saved me a lot of time in getting the car running (as we both know), and I'll build a second engine on the side, but at least I'll have the car running while I go through a 6 month engine build! I have renewed motivation to finish this thing, so hopefully withing the month, it will be on the track, but it'll be a year or two before it's "finished"

Two coats of white, one coat of gloss.... Probably about 4-5 litres of paint. Not tooooo heavy... If you couldn't already tell, I'm pretty picky about my cars... Even though it'll only see track time, I want it to look good while doing it These pics are a few months old. The car is quite a bit further along than where the pics are up-to... I'll catch up to the present pretty soon, and we'll have live updates
-
Paul - Thanks mate, that would be much appreciated! I know we'll be able to get it to fit... It'll just take a little bit of cajoling Andrew - Need to rebalance it, need to make up billet adaptor plates, need to measure the OD and make sure it's built to spec... <sigh> I'll get to that dumb shaft later. I'm going to concentrate on other stuff for now. How's your build going then? When will it be ready? Should be awesome to have two identical cars running around the track

When I picked up the car from the painters, I realised that they didn't get the windscreen refitted like I asked, so they taped it up with masking tape it up for me I got in the car to drive it home, and realised that I had no seat belt, no indicators, no headlights, no wipers and my windscreen was held in place by the unstickiest masking tape in the world...... Needless to say, I quickly re-evaluated the situation and called a tow truck :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014:

I got a lot done to the car over the weekend... The entire dash and electronics are now installed I'll have some photos of this probably next week, as I forgot to take my camera For now, some quick photos of the interior getting painted!

Pete - We tried putting the Trust front diff extension on, but it seemed to foul against the sump extension I've kept it though, as I want to give it another go... I'm sure we can squeeze it in there! SRS13 - I purchased the dry ice from BOC Gases down south somewhere... I think I bought around 2 kilos which half filled my big esky. Cost around $50 from memory, but for the amount of time and pain it saved me, money well spent IMHO! unique1 - I've kept the -5s... I might end up using them for the next engine which will have increased capacity... I love to slingshot out of corners, so I'll just use the GT-SS's for now... After I get the car all set up suspension wise, then I'll chase proper power with bigger engine and bigger turbos.
-
The question is, how hard is it to upgrade the antiquated ABS system in an old car like the R32 to a faster, more intelligent system?
-
unique1: That is a FANTASTIC list! Well done... I'm going to copy that into it's own thread and post it it in the FAQ forum! I hope you don't mind TenFour: No idea who phenline is, but the person I bought this off was "dkonig" from SAU. It previously came from Victoria, but I don't know if the original Aussie owner is on SAU. The Oak: 1. It is currently road rego'ed, but I'll be changing to RTA road/rally/race registration soon... This will allow me to drive to/from workshops and track/race events. 2. As far as I know, you can't have a full roll cage (with front legs that protrude into the driver's area) and be road legal. Makes sense I suppose. You wouldn't want to hit your head against a hard roll cage without a helmet on! 3. No-one could offer enough money to offset the costs that I've incurred building this thing... I would never get my money back from this car, so I would never sell it until *I* was ready to move on, and it was time to move into another track car such as a Lotus Exige or Porker. Okay, that's it for now... Gotta go turn some spanners so I can provide you with more updates Michele: I see you lurking, I'll have a look for that trim panel today!

JUN oil pump Quaife front differential

Mines cam baffles Tomei dump pipes Tomei exhaust manifolds

Extended sump..... More oil + baffles = no weird noises <fingers crossed>!!! Extended oil pickup

What tiiiiny little turbos Anyway, I didn't take the best photos of the engine before it went on, so here are some photos of the bits that went on:
-
Meanwhile, some engine prepping 5000km old Garrett GT2560R-5s come off, and smaller GT-SS turbos go on, along with a few other bits and bobs to control the usual oiling issues R32 > R35

hehehe... okay, I'm going to go work on the car some more today... Some more quick photos before I go! Nice and light Amuse R1 Titan exhaust arrives unannounced at UAS... John thought it was Christmas until I rang and told him it was mine 4.8kgs! Mounted (as requested Neil!)
