  1. I'd better get a move on with the updates, before GTS-Ts take over this thread
  2. Yeah tell me about it  They were on there when I bought the car... I could live with the wing, but not the badge, so the first thing I did was drive it home and get out the heat gun and steel wire to take off the badge. Came off nicely, but after removing the leftover glue, I found two holes in the bootlid So I put the badge back on and never got around to getting the holes welded up and repainted...
  3. now that your race is over, record some more girly yelps for us to chuckle at
  4. Yeah definitely still love that car... I wonder where it's hanging out now, or if it's still in one piece? Made gobs of power in it's day... 300rwkw from a GTS-t was unheard of back then!!! That thing never missed a beat, even with all the thrashings we gave it on the track. Ahhhh... the memories
  5. Hmmm... I've had a few Skylines now... Four to be exact I don't have any photos on my laptop here at work, but here's a photo of my last GTR...
  6. Hi there and welcome! Which state are you located in? If you are interested in joining us on trackdays and motorsport events, please feel free to join your state club chapter of SAU. We don't discriminate against car make or model, as we all share the same enthusiasm for cars in general! Glad to have you aboard! Andrew.
  7. Slide is a forum sponsor, and is able to get you any Cusco parts you require.... Alternatively, Beer Baron seems to have some hookups too I have a Tilton lever-style bias adjuster that will be installed in-cabin... There should be a photo of it a few pages back. That only gives you fine tuning bias adjustment though. As I said, I think I'll be massively rear biased, so I might need to go for dual master cylinders and balance bar (the best way to set brake bias adjustment) or a pedal box.
  8. Jin Man: Nope, not really a common problem... But all it takes is for a careless workshop apprentice to hit something against it, or whatever, and it'll stop working. It's normally well protected under the centre console/armrest area, surrounded by plastic bits, so it's not easy to get direct impact against the g-sensor... Only in stripped out cars, where they're exposed, will you risk damaging it. djr: thanks heaps for that feedback mate, I'll take it into consideration.
  9. Beer Bitch: I haven't bought LCAs yet... only the uppers. PM me a price for the front and rear LCAs... I can't find anyone who sells the FRONT Ikeya LCAs, only the rear seem to be available. Cusco swaybars aren't adjustable, which turned me off them. JiN_MaN: The G-sensor sits just behind the handbrake, and is wired into the ATESSA computer and ABS... Mainly, it's used by ATESSA to determine when to transfer torque to the front wheels. Without this stupidly expensive part (or if it is busted like my old one), a GTR is effectively a RWD.
  10. So I just got home and looked at my take home pack of volcanic chicken... It's one of those LARGE chinese takeaway containers, and it's FULL of chicken. WTF. Seriously. WTF.
  11. Everything adds up (very quickly) If anyone is keeping track of the cost of the parts that have been put on this car, don't tell me... I DON'T want to know My brake setup (on order): FRONT: AP Racing CP5555 6-Pot Calipers AP Racing J-Hook 355mm discs Ferrodo DS3000 Pads BF Goodrich braided lines REAR: AP Racing CP7600 4-Pot Calipers AP Racing J-Hook 343mm discs Ferrodo DS2500 Pads BF Goodrich braided lines Hydraulic Handbrake Tilton Lever Brake Bias Adjuster Yes, I know that it will be massively rear biased, but I'll see how I go. Might give me a reason to put in a pedal box and balance bar My suspension will be (on order): DMS 50mm giant strut coilovers Competition valving 6xxlbs front springs 4xxlbs rear springs Still pulling the linkages together, but so far, I have: Cusco front upper arms Cusco rear upper arms Cusco tension rods/radius arms Haven't decided on swaybars yet... Probably just go for adjustable Whiteline ones to start with and see how they go.
  12. There's a LOT of tuning of suspension and getting used to the car before I start chasing the SERIOUS weight reduction stuff... But after I "speed hole" all the non-structural metal panels, carbon doors, carbon boot, lexan windows, cut out the boot floor, etc etc, I'll be very happy to get it down to 1300kgs. The last ($$expensive$$) push for weight target is a while off yet though. Need more big signings at work to pay for my road car, mortgage, holidays, booze, drugs, etc, and way down the bottom, lowest priority is this silly fun car
  13. The PM was from someone you have never spoken to before. The PM contained nothing but a link. A link to a RUSSIAN site. ............ YOU CLICKED THAT LINK?!?! In any case, as PurpleR32 said, we have taken measures to reduce such cases of spam and virulent link prorogation. Unfortunately common sense is something we can't help with
  14. FARK ME!!! Lucky I checked this thread... I thought it was Thursday! I shouldn't have wolfed down that stupidly large chicken burger for lunch I'm still in... Will have to see how hungry I am in 5 hours
  15. Yeah sure is mate... It's running on a very rough old tune on a dodgy Power FC, but it's running Very deep, loud, throaty growl to it... I love it, but there's no way you could drive it on a daily basis. It's 100% cop-bait. I tried to take a video of it for you, but I realised that my stupid Sony T200 point and shoot camera can't take any video!!!! WTF
  16. Send "Angus Smart" a PM... He has a couple spare that he can sell you
  17. LOVE the girly gasp How lucky are you that there was that ad-hoc dirt track there?!?! I'm surprised that you didn't pull out and have words with your new friend.
  18. No way... I'm still on my interim engine. I still need to sort out the proper powerhouse Suspension and Brakes are being sorted as we speak, so it shouldn't be too long before I can give it a shakedown and start tuning the setup... ................. I'm ashamed to say that I have actually cleaned up those chassis rails with turps and metho
  19. Retail pricing was $2300.00... You should be able to get it for under $2000.
  20. Hopefully this will never get pulled and tested out!
  21. Suspension and brakes are all stock at the moment... I'm leaving the two most important parts of the car until last. .... and yes, I'm counting on the 3-4 degrees neg camber to fix the offset issue at the front... I hope that guard rolling will be sufficient to take care of the rear. I'm not worried anyway... If I need to get the guards panel beaten to make them fit, so be it. Check out the g-sensor that I bought... Don't ask how much this was. My sphincter is still puckered after handing over my credit card
  22. Ummm... They stick out from the guards mate There was no way that 18x10 +12 was EVER going to fit under those guards. They stick out about 1cm, but I knew they would.... I'll get the suspension on there, set the camber and see how much panel beating I need to do to make them fit. Hopefully some brutal guard rolling will suffice...
  23. Do they allow convertibles on the track? My hardtop is still in pieces
