  2. pull apart your turbo timer...if you have one, and wire it behind the clock, using the old PCB to minic the button presses. i did this and it looks wicked

  4. go see xspeed they do this stuff real cheep, they are great boys
  5. oh and could you get rid of all the speed bumps too ;p
  6. troy troy troy... you should be ashamed of yourselves... im voting paulie for president at the next poll. you know if we got our act together, we could form a government party, and with the support of the other skyline states run for chair! imagine all the laws and rules we could banish and make think about it!! :ah hu: Nate
  7. Funny way to subject a thread i know, but i just headed out to paulies (gtst vspec ) place this morning to look at why the car was missing/popping thinking it was a AFM to change over when we decided to check the plugs first. now ive had this car down to many places over the past 14months to tray and sort out this problem and everyone had a go at the plugs. what we discovered was that (even though they all said they had gaped them to 0.8mm) 3-4 of the plugs were not even gapped ie. they were still at 1.1mm!!! and the last place i took the car to so it could get sorted out even said they had put platnums throughout... but they were all NGK Iridiums yeah, go figure that? Regaped the plugs and went for a drive... all fixed and fast (well i thought so, pauls a hard man to please when he has 368hp and i only have 260hp). Problem solvered! SO IN CONCLUSION! Always!!! check your plugs and trust no-one! 14months of grief solved by two tally-wakers and a socket-set. JUN, ENDLESS, and NISMO watch out! Nate
  8. you could be the man i need to speak to... im running a k&n POD at the moment whihc ithink could be the problem...due to the oil based filters + the hot wire = trouble. the car is doing the whole poping/miss thing and i have been told that i should check the AFM first... thus begins the mission
  9. Hello all. Is anyone able to help me out with some trouble shooting. Im on a mission to try and sort out a problem with the car which we believe is with the air flow meter or the ignotor module. All i need to do is to replace either of these with a good working one and take the car for a fang (oooh havent heard that word in ages ) and see if it fixes the problem. I will make it worth your wild if you can help me out. just so you know it must be a AFM off a series 1 R33 skyline. i have a 94 gtst. Thanks all. Nate
  10. well kym, unfortunately xspeed only had a series 2 AFM so no luck there. i will have to try and find somone who has a series 1 AFM as i have a 94 model... bugger so... no good news there (
  11. 78 gemini 79 gemini (fully mod for the track, twin 50mm webbers...) 78 pimp style, long ass statesman caprice. blue with vynal roof now... 94 gtst
  12. Jet your doing a great job we all apreciate all the effort you are going to so that we can get cheap stuff. three cheers for JET! HIP...
  13. kym, if the AFM fixes it this saturday, i will let you know. Then when i get a new one, we can meet up and you can wack it on yours and see if thats the problem. Nate
  14. well... its believed that the miss may be caused by a AFM! im heading down to cypher on saturday to see if i can swap one over... i have checked the coil packs, and they all read 0.7 ohms across the pins, and plugs are fine. so its either the AFM or the ignitor module... i dont know... its all too much!
  15. hey kym experiencing the same prob as you, i know what it is like. i just had my safc II installed and tuned on tuesday... didnt fix it... helped it. i have tried all avenues thatyou have except fro AFM... i am heading to cypher on saturday where they are going to swap over a AFM for me and see if that fixes it... cross fingers... i will let you know pal best of luck Nate
  16. Thanks Erik, the car is just: cat back 90mm k&N filter turbosmart type2 BOV bleed valve running 10psi and SAFC II still have the miss problem though, so i know what im upto this weekend. will have to sort out if its the coil packs or the ignitor module or the plugs i will be at pool place this thursday night, may see you there. Nate
  17. hey erik, yeah i saw you on leach hwy about 5pm yesterday. the bodykit looks good mate. anyone have a spare set of coil paks they could lend me out for a carton or something?
  18. yeah sorry steve, i was going to head up your way for the install/tune. but at the moment it was just more convenient for me and others around me, to get it done close. any chance i can rattle your brains on the weekend over the popping/ possible ignition problem matter?
  19. well its back.... good news and bad good: im up to a 249wrhp!!!!! i should probably put alittle of the explination in to the difference of dynos ie. the 1st figure of 165hp was from tim slakos dyno and the recent firgure of 249hp is from the gene exhausts one. plus also i guess i also have extra 3psi boost now plus a safc tuned car now... im so wraped bad: the pop/miss is still there. it showed up on the dyno HUGE TIME! isnt not as bad now. i hoping that the plugs are just fowled from it running too rich for sooo long. i will also have to check the coil packs too i guess. anyone clued up on this proceedure? it it the resistance between terminal a + c? thanks guys Nate
  20. hippy if you want i can trace out my spacers and email to you the outline of them so you can make your own let me know they fit perfectly behind the stadard door trim.
  21. xspeed know their stuff right? (i hope im not vialating any business agreement here on the forums, its just a harmless question...) you would have to admit though, that there are your good tuners and your bad tuners! we have all heard stories of what went wrong with the odd tuning job at whatever tuning shop.
  22. yeah xspeed are install + tune... i was going to head to Steve (SST) but since i live like 2 mins from xspeed, it just worked out easier. depending on how this tune goes, ill see when i get the cooler if i head to steve for the final tune.
  23. yeah tried plugs, platniums, with no luck. the guys said that they would have a look at them after anyway, just to see if they have fouled up after running soo rich for sooo long. i really wanna this to fix the problem! well see though
  24. Now that i finally have a SAFC II (thanks Bam) The car went in this morning to xspeed to get sorted out. hopefully i will be able to get rid of the blasted poping at 4.5K upwards and be able to give it fuul stick for once!:uh-huh: the car went in with 165rwhp (filter, exhaust, BOV and bleed) hanging out to see what i get out of it. i cant wait will let you know tomorrow nate
  25. i have diff, gear and motor... best $400 i ever spent. i have castrol synth in it before and when the redline went in the whole car, the difference was amazing... never go back. the engine runs much cooler too.
