hey rev... any luck with the whole knock and ping drama? i know that you were going to get it tuned soon and i thougt that you may have gotten it sorted out. only reason im asking is because im a concerned fellow skyline owner... and i have exactly the same problem

mate i share your same problem, im hoping that its the same as mine cause when yyour driving the car will drift to the left and you have to correct your steering posistion...you end up driving with your steering wheel in a turning style like your turning, but your still going straight. i have had it happen to me under acceration... now thats scary... Let me know if you find out something though

sorry pal, yet another question... doesnt the safc also do a shift light? with add-on of course?

Does anyone know where you can get a shift light for the R33. i dont want to buy another tacho, i just want a simple shift light that will go off at a level step by me. i know car quest have a pivot one, looks damn hot but its pretty darn expensive. im a electronics engineer, i can make one, but when it comes to the part of mating it up to the ECU of the car, i would have no clue. so id just rather get a good one with instrustions. anyone who anything? if i get a good one i will try and copy it so i can produce some ones for cheep sale if anyone is interested? hey rev how did you get the extra fuel delivery? what else are you runing to change the ECU?

thanks macka, the sad thing is that i cant even get the thing up to full boost at the moment as the clutch is on the way out, it will slip shortly after 5krpm. geting it replaced next week, and i will get the guys to have a look at the timing at the same time. i do have a 90mm straight through exhaust to a tip muff. i also have a rx7 racing cat on the thing... it sounds blooody mean i tell you. would think that it would be a issue though...

never flashes.... i dont think that its a pinging however, it sounds more like a popping from the exhaust with a engine retard at the same time. the car exhaust rumbles off load and backfires between low speed up changes. havent checked timing though. ive had it a slakos whoes done a full check on the thing and sees nothing wrong with what could be obveous, went to cred and they just changed to platnuims, worked fine until i got home... then you guessed it... back again.

rev, I have the exact same problem, i only have an exhaust, filter and BOV. I put on a atomic bleed valve to upped the boost to find that it got worse (obveously), then wound it down to find that it was still there. i have have plugs changed, platniums make no diff, and changed the gaps with no luck. my only options left are the Air flow meter (could be that) or the fuel system (like a coil pack or the like). waiting until i get motec before i look further into it. its just too much hassle looking for this thing blind. Although run BP ultimate, this made it less. Good luck and let me know what you find out.
