  1. Old thread but didn't want to start another one about damn AFM's. My R33 stock AFM went to 5.06v on 8-9 psi stock turbo, PFC. Is this okay? does idle at 1.2v Test was done in 1st and 2nd gear only to 6500rpm.
  2. Ohh and that track bitch!!! gotta luv those locked diffs. this thing is quick for a bog stock rb20.
  3. I saw this car in the flesh! fark me, gotta be one of the cleanest 32's i've ever seen! can't wait to see it on the track too. Nic e buy Paul
  4. happy birthday monie pie! :sorcerer:
  5. Paul if you need help i can bring my own beer cooler...
  6. shit dave, i feel ya pain bud.
  7. And the point i'm trying to make is that there are other problems that will make a car motor ping before it will ping becuase of it running lean.
  8. good point, so what if you unhook the aac valve so the car can idle, if you put your hand over the turbo inlet would there be no suction at all?
  9. The PFC is only assuming the base timing is set at 15deg, you could set it to what ever you want so long as you set the pfc the sameway, eg: say you set the base timing for 20deg but in the pfc its set at 15deg, the pfc assumes its 15deg, it doesn't read what it actually is. so if base timing is 15deg, then you have to set the pfc to 15deg. if its 20deg set the pfc to 20deg, etc etc do you get what i'm trying to say?
  10. yeah i had this problem, cleaned my aac and all was good.
  11. if the turbo isn't boosting then i think so, as the motor is sucking air instead of the turbo blowing it in.
  12. what about injectors, dirty or half blocked maybe not spraying right and causing a hot spot. even coke build up causes hotspots. again, running lean doesn't cause hotspots either, other things would do that before running lean does, and in this specific problem he ain't running lean its running rich. and thats what i'm replying to. I agree running lean does raise the temp but there other things to consider before saying its pinging because its running lean. My car was running very lean, in the mid 14's but it never pinged. if the car was running that lean that it raises the temp that high for it to ping he would know something was wrong before hearing it ping, but he only got 2 problems, 1 running rich, and 2 pinging.
  13. very very unlikely though, to the point where to would be running way way too lean that theres no way he'd be able to drive it, it wouldn't be drivable. i'd even go to the point of saying fuel would be the very last reason a car would ping, theres other things that would make it ping before fuel would, like hotspots inside the cylinder, spark plugs too hot, or even shit fuel, but the most likely cause would be timing, any mechanic would look at this first and if thats not the problem they'd look at other possibilties, running lean can help in causing pinging but its doesn't cause it to happen by itself.
  14. might be oxygen sensor. A stuffed O2 sensor would make it run rich, doesn't matter how you drive it.A car running lean doesn't make it ping. pinging is 99% of the time caused by too much timing. It might be a few different problems, but i think its pinging because of something to do with your timing. Maybe your CAS is stuffed...
  15. I'm in, theres no way i'm missing this!
  16. Sounded like a great day, sorry i wasn't there, i had a death in the family. but i'll be at the next one for sure!
  17. Only if car built from sept 97 onwards, they use different CAS, same one as R34.
  18. The 2500R is Mals car, its a GTS-T that nismo decided to have fun with, only 3 were made and as far as Mal knows the other 2 were crushed. So its a one of a kind. Want full specs PM mal. If the engine bay your meaning is the carbon fibre timing belt cover coil cover and cam covers its 2GU-UP candy red car, very sweet looking ride.
  19. Some great cars there, and some great cars not there(mine). 2GU-UP you have an exceptional car, and ULOOK you too. You were all just lucky someone side swiped me during the week but next yr i'll be there. Job well done to all of the organisers and it was good to see you all again, hopefully at the trackday. Ohh and Liz i'm glad you went and bought a jumper you made me cold just looking at you!lol Also the toyo tyres was rigged! pft not going to a skyline, what the...
  20. Do option one Duncan, bathurst doesn't come up that often, you can do option 2 any time you have a spare 5k laying around.
  21. weird, fark yeah but i think i'm going to kick myself when i find out what it is. don't flame it but its a walbro 255l/h, i know some people have heard bad things but my tuner flow tested it before it went in and says he uses them all the time and hasn't had an issues with them, still its a possibility and am going to try the standard pump just to see if things change or not. the second tuner said maybe fuel pump too, i'm not so sure though. Just been thinking to myself, could it be my injectors? maybe ones farked, i do run injector cleaner evey now and again and use 98ron fuel. Have tried different fuels,bp ult, vortex98, Vpower and the mobil stuff, nothing changes though. Just trying to eliminate things so from fuel tank to motor, fuel pump, fuel filter, regulator, injectors, is that it, so pump done, filter done, was told nothing really goes wrong with the standard reg so next would be injectors so they're coming out soon and getting sussed and cleaned but as i said i run cleaner through them every so often, come to think of it i ran some through it when it first started to play up. but you never know.
