  1. Hey all just thought I would share something for people who want 10psi and no boost creep. Just get the wastegate actuator from a R32 and off you go. this is exactly what i have read. "An option is to install a different wastgate actuator and the good news is the R32 GTST item is exactly the same as the R33 except the spring inside is set for 10psi. R32 actuators can be hard to find but I think it’s the best option for this level of modification as boost spikes and boost creep are eliminated." You also need to disconnect the 2 stage boost system. You know the one which gives you 5psi at alower rpm range and then 7psi at higher rpms. Cause then you would be going above the 10psi. Not to sure how this is disconnected or whether its safe to do so but I thought I would share this as I thought it was interesting. Hope this was helpful to someone
  2. whats a decent tyre pressure for mine. fronts are 235/45R17 rear are 255/40 R17 I think he said he put 40psi front 42psi rear. its the rear ones that are the noisy ones.
  3. Nah they are brand spanking new sumitomos. Never again!!!!!!!!!!! I think the pressure is too high. Yeh i hear it at freeway speed. I got it balanced and aligned.
  4. I do suggest you let it idle for more than 30 seconds before driving. On a cold morning especially now as its freezing turn your car on and just let it warm up while your getting ready to go to work once you get back to your car she is all warm and ready to take you to work
  5. just wondering are you guys disconnecting the 2 stage boost control thing the R33 has??? you know its 5psi in the lower rpm ranges then goes to 7psi in the higher ranges?? If you got it set at 10psi then spikes to 12 it may be due to this factor. Just something that I thought would be worthwhile to mention
  6. Yeh i got an email from a company who makes heat resistant paint they told me this. " Hi Temp aerosol is a spray paint that is designed to withstand temperatures above 500 deg C but it is not an insulating coating. Any heat that it is subjected to will transfer through the coating. Specific specilaised ceramic coatings are sometomes used on exhaust systems to reduce the transfer of heat. Basically what you will need to find is an isulation paint." So yeh the search goes on for this insulation paint
  7. Its the rule of thumb. Skylines and Atmo blow off valves do not go hand in hand. If you want some kind of induction sound just buy a pod box it up and your laughing. no stalling and you still get the "whooshhhh" sound. just some food for thought personally i love my silent skyline the sound of the exhaust and the RB25 engine is a sound of beauty to me
  8. My guess would be your TPS, another would be your blow off valve as they are not good when it comes to skylines. A freind of mine had a hks ssq and car would idle low and idle was just crazy.
  9. Hey im just wondering does this kind of paint exist?? The reason im asking is im thinking bout buying a aluminium heatshield as its made from aluminium the pod would not be properly insulated and would not be recieving enough cold air. So besides getting it professionally ceramic coated are there any right out of a can products which would insulate and increase the amount of cold air the pod gets??
  10. Yeh im thinking Maxx's also. Im trying to see who sells heat resistant paint black colour preferably.
  11. well would help if mr crust had stock but he has sold out.
  12. I believe the stock ecu has two fuel maps one for the higher octane and one for the 98ron fuel. So yeh if you are running the standard ecu then you dont need octane booster.
  13. The Mr crust one is actually pretty nice looking. would be good and just get it ceramic coated. The only thing is that its all pop riveted what happens if you have to take it off or remove pod for cleaning or something would make things abit difficult.
  14. just get a wheel balance and alignment. Just do the easiest thing first. fixed my prob and i had the same prob as you.
  15. Is the phone locked?? or can you use it with other network?
  16. geez even if i just had a exhaust, fmic and boost i would go power fc regardless. turns the skyline into a beast yeh change the turbo choice should of just bought a cheap R33 turbo and hi flowed.
  17. Well I have done some research and it appears the best material for heatshield is fibreglass, carbon fibre and high temp plastic. Any type of metal will attract heat and does not offer an effective type of heatshielding. It seems there are no heatshield products available that will allow me to use my apexi pod with my standard snorkel. I see some that are made out of aluminium but thats it. I was thinking the UAS box but then the snorkel is useless and the air I believe will be coming from the passenger headlight. anyone know of products which are good. any shops in sydney you know which do custom jobs.
  18. So all your saying is if you have a R33 like me just buy the UAS fibreglass cold air box and keep the standard snorkel is that it?? wouldnt that just be pointless??? The air from the snorkel would not reach the pod in the UAS box.
  19. Just learn from your mistakes go buy a aftermarket blow off valves and the find out the probs your going to encounter. after a week your going to go back to your stock item.
  20. Hey all im after a stock standard R33 gearknob in excellent condition. So anyone who has swapped there one for a fancy aftermarket one please msg me and tell me how much you want for your spare gearknob.
  21. Yeh LPG for cooking!!! If you cant afford the petrol then suggest selling the skyline.
  22. Also looks like you have cut some of it out to make some kind of hole. I guess i cant really compare cause you drive a supra. I love the apexi pod i want to keep the snorkel but i need a heatshield but still want to induction sound. Anyone know what will fit my application???
  23. The blitz looks like a sweet setup but been told they dont filter that well?? correct or incorrect??? so its comes already with the heatshield???
  24. Hey i just bought some new tyres and damn are they noisy. with my old ones which were wasted you did hear alittle bit of that ticking sound now its louder with these tyres. any maintenance tips to help the noise decrease or go away?? Correct me if im wrong but seems to be abit better when the tyres are warmed up abit.
