For people out there who are interested in fitting a BOV just want to say that I installed my stealth BOV. Its venting a little bit like 90-85% and plumbing back the rest i drove around didnt adjust the springs. No backfire,stalling,idle probs (knock on wood). Car feels a tiny bit less powerful probs cause im so worried bout stalling and stuff and looking to find a flaw im just paranoid. You can hear the turbo working more now. I guess the bov flows more air.

Anyone??? Im sure someone has to know. I wanna know too thats why hehe

Damn in not a big fan of people acting different cause i have an import but if a group of "bogans" drove around and said stuff and I was alone, id just laugh and walk off. Not worth getting your head kicked in over. It may be jealousy or they wanna drag you but just ignore and let them hurt themselves take care of number one I say

so in theory if you vent 10% and keep the remaining air . everything should run smooth right with the spring tuned correctly??

Should have returned the cooler when you were given the chance i say. But I can vouch for gR33dy i ordered my part and arrived to me as per description without a prob. I think this may be a middleman dilemna more than anything else. Hope everything works out well for the both of you. I think being threatening is not the best way to go about it. Im sure there is a explanation.

Yeh ive been reading up those $30 boost controllers are pretty good. Supposedly there not even bleed valves. Id stick with what you have if your happy. Im going to go down your line of mods but i'll be doing a fmic when boost is upped.

Hey i just put in a new panel filter. I have been told that if I take off some kind of lining it will increase induction noise?? doesnt seem to be too much lining dont see how it can be a sound deadener. If so is the lining this black material type thing clipped to the roof of the airbox lid?? Is it ok to take off? thanks guys

Yeh thats all he wrote to me. Which was pretty interesting as you say because mostly we hear its the atmo venting but this can be different. I was also interested to know if a bov which seems to be running good if its doing silent damage. He didnt respond to that question hence why i thought i would bring this topic up.

This kit requires minimal mods to front bar. The price should be checked though you can get a new one from nengun for $1200 delivered or around $1600 for autobarn. Just some handy info.

I sent an email to brett turner the engineer from GFB and in regard to the stalling he wrote back "I have come across this problem before, it only seems to affect a handful of R33's. The problem lies with a super-sensitive airflow meter, What I did determine is that the stalling is related more to the spring pre-load than the atmosphere venting. I would suggest softening the spring 2-3 turns by winding the chrome cap anti-clockwise.

Interesting, So with a BOV which vents say 90% back to the plumback and vents say 10% would this be detrimental to the engine or would it be just enough to make the air flow meter happy??

I was reading my instructions manual for the stealth fx bov I bought and it has this written on the bottom. "GFB products are engineered for best performance, however incorrect use or modification of factory systems may cause damage to or reduce the longevity of the engine/drivetrain components. " Does this mean that a bov if running correctly without the typical symptoms stalling etc can be harmful to my or your cars engine?? just something that popped into my mind. All these people with bov's when it may be bad for the engine.

How come most of the kits for R33 skylines are the ones which you need to modify a few things to get it fitted fan,chassis etc. im trying to find FMIC which uses the standard piping like the Blitz LM and AVO but these are like $1500 +. Anyone know of a good tube and fin cooler which uses this configuration but doesnt cost this much.

If you want a BOV sell the one you got and buy one which you can adjust the spring tension also one which vent to atmo and plumback (GFB Hybrid) this will eliminate probs. Make sure someone who knows what they are doing installs the bov and tunes it right. If all fails just put the stocker back on and get a pod.

This is true,just make sure the sponge stuff on the lid is on if you want to reduce induction noise take it off and it increases the sound surprisingly.
