  1. you can't redrill them as they aren't round they are a square shape, you would have to get pieces of metal welded on to the hubs to make them wide enough to conver the hub to a 5 stud pattern, the pic below shows you what i mean the green dots are roughly where the stud bolts would have to go to. if by some chance you have got round hubs forget all that and redrilling is perfectly fine if done propley.
  2. ABS or any workshop that does brakes, suspension and clutch work. the only equipment you need is a bench drill and a the right size drill bit. if you don't want them to fit the rotors you will need to take them in a hub off your car so the have the right stud pattern to work off.
  3. the stud pattern on all R31's is 4 x 114.3, next time you got a question post it up here www.r31skylineclub.com
  4. i would have got some G4 coilovers from justjap, $1499 plus $100 for a wheel alignment that leaves $700 to spend on new bushes, larger swaybars and strut braces http://www.justjap.com/parts_nsuspension.htm
  5. a screw driver and a hammer can be used if you become that desperate. a pair of C spanners are around the $50 mark.
  6. i think they mean something along the lines; this product has been tested and been approved as being legal to use on Australian roads but if department of transport deems them to be illegal you can't go back at them with a law suit.
  7. TBS automotive Queensland, they buy all their stuff through this company so just find the closest distributer to you, i attached the link below. this wasn't mates rates either. also roy how much were you quoted to get braided lines? http://www.braidedhoses.com.au/wherebuy.html
  8. hey neo31 sorry about the wrong info on the caliper spacing, i went and saw my mate today and saw how he measured them the wrong way. and HR31's have a trailing calipers as seen here
  9. why do you so badly want Sti calipers? just get some R33 GTR calipers.
  10. just rang my mate that has a 2000 model WRX and he is using 2003 brembo Sti gear on his car and the caliper spacing is 100mm so the only thing you have to do is ring DBA and get some custom rotors made to suit your HR31 neo31 . also omrae read my first post i said "personally go get brembo GTR calipers less work involved fitting them" that is a direct bolt on upgrade no engineering required i know this cause i helped my cousin do this to his R33 GTS. And what degree of engineering is required to upgrade brakes? goes to front desk at university "i would like to enroll in automotive brake upgrade engineering". so what background knowledge or experience do you have omrae.
  11. let me just pull a set of GTR calipers and Sti calipers out of my arse and measure them for you. oh wait they want about $1000 for each pair of these calipers. maybe you wouldn't mind sending me $2000 and i will go get the verniers out of the shed and tell you. maybe instead of being a wanker keyboard warrior post something useful.
  12. they look the same to me just metalic paint on the GTR ones, its the angle that the pics were taken on that gives you the impression that they are different. pick common points off the calipers and compare the two pics side by side. also i thought all jap cars Nissan, Mazda, Misubishi, Subaru and Toyota all had caliper spacing of 100mm just like aussie cars such as ford and holden have 90mm spaced calipers.
  13. Series 3 manual R31 skyline has the same box as the R32 RB20, (series 1 & 2 only have the sinlge syncro on first and second gears not dual syncro) as long as you don't give the RB30 box death it will hold up to that power (just to be on the safe side think about a trans cooler) but if you want to give your car death only option RB25 box can easily handle 300rwkw.
  14. gotta attack the lower control arm with a hammer to bend it in so when you go full lock the rotor doesn't rub on the arm. the red circle is part you hammer in. other than that machine the center hole out 10mm and you might have to use 1 or 2 washers to space the caliper to fit, but i don't think you will have to as GTR rotors just bolt up with no other modifications and Sti rotors are same thickness only 2mm bigger . Here's the specs on the HR31 rotors. HR31 GTS A) 274 B)47 C) 22 D) 68
  15. you will have to modify the rotors on the front and back to fit them, the center hole is 10mm smaller than the GTS-t ones. after you have done that the fronts should bolt on without any other troubles, but with the back you will have to use same washers to space out the caliper from the rotor as the height of the rotor is about 4mm bigger. here is all the specs on the 3 different types of rotors, personally go get brembo GTR calipers less work involved fitting them. R33 GTS-t Front A) 296 B)53.75 C) 30 D)68 Rear A) 297 B)63 C) 18 D)68 R33 GTR Brembo's Front A) 324 B)53.75 C) 30 D) 68 Rear A) 300 B)63 C) 22 D) 68 WRX Sti Brembo's Front A) 326 B)53 C) 30 D) 58 Rear A) 316 B)67.5 C) 20 D) 58
  16. braided lines help, as your stock rubber lines get old the brake fluid is acidic and starts eating the rubber away and they become soft, perishable or may start to bludge in areas. get someone to put there foot on the brakes and you hold one of the lines, it should expand a little, by the line expanding you are having to put more pressure on the brake pedal to get the same brake responce if the lines were new. you shouldn't pay more than $60-$70 for braided lines. if you are planing on going bigger rotors and calipers in the future just get a brake master cylinder stopper for now. if you are going to go GTR brakes only worry about the front as the back rotors are only 3mm bigger and 4mm thicker and when people see brembo on a caliper the price doubles pretty much.
  17. ok the only way you can adjust the height on your car is with different springs or coilovers. you might have coilovers on the front of your car but i think you might just have damper adjustable shocks, can you take a pic of the wheel arch with the tyre off and the top of the strut towers in the engine bay. with coilovers they are height and damper adjustable, damper adjustable controls the rebound rate of the shocks which you can set on soft or hard or somewhere in between. here are a few pics to tell if you have coilovers on the front or not. the first pic is the threaded sleeve on the coilovers which adjusts the height. the red circle in the second pic is the damper adjustable control.
  18. GTR_Legend the max you would want to run with standard lines would be DOT 4. DOT 5 is more acidic which eats the standard rubber lines but on the other hand the fluid remains cooler longer and gives you better pedal responce. Miller the hoon whats your budget? Brand new Porsche 6 piston brakes with 350mm or 365mm rotors for $4000. your are looking at spending a minimum of $1500 on better pads, rotors and braided lines. other oprion is try and get some R33 or R34 GTR brakes.
  19. what car is it for R32, R33, R34? heres your specs on all of them, if you can't read japanese then just use the google translater http://www.tein.co.jp/sdf2n.html this place only sells R33 super drift but email and see if they could get R32, R34 if you need them. you would be looking at roughly $2100 deliveried to your door http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bccatpar...gory=suspension
  20. 90% that HR31 stuff will bolt up to a R30. just a few questions to confirm this 1) are there 3 nuts that hold the strut up on the strut tower underneath the bonnet? 2) what is the stud pattern on the M30? 4x114.3? 3) could you take a few pics of the front strut tops and behind the front wheels like lower control arms, castor rods and what brake setup there is on there now ? If that all works out then you should be able to run a set of HR31 coilover on your M30 and be able to upgrade to any skyline brakes. all R32 - R34 skylines run a 100mm caliper spacing just like the HR31's. the parts that you would need would be R31 lower control arms, HR31 struts and what types of brakes you want. all up should cost no more than $2000.
  21. i haven't seen anything on the market from nismo or greddy, so your only option is to go custom plenum something like this. also if you go a front entry plenum your can't keep that Neo 6 rocker cover.
