A littl while back I blew the ceramic turbos, and had them rebuilt hi flowed with steel wheels. After putting it all back together, it also seems that the engine has suffered a bit from the turbos blowing up - it's down on compression in cylinders 2 and 3 and blowing a bit of smoke (but only on gear changes of whem blow off valves open) Anyhow, I haven't had the time or cash to pull the engine down for what I understand will be a rebuild at some point in time. What I do want to know is - and this may seem a stupid question but bear with me, my old man has organised a drag meet/speed trial in my small home country town - he wants as many cars out there as he can, and would like me to run mine, even if it's just a couple of half hearted runs - but lets face it, does anyone ever go half hearted? What is the chances that I'm gonna do some real damage - like dropping a bearing, or putting some crap through my new turbos?

looks awesome, even tho it's a chop, i think that the aftermarket crews will have some interesting interpretations of the new model, can't wait to see the first one completely tricked out!

Yeah, I've heard of the league of gentlemen but haven't really heard much about what they're actually like? British yeah?

Hey nice one, I was gonna say Mighty Boosh in first post, but thought, nah, it's a bit too weird. Once again Bizzarre show, what about Garth Marenghi's dark place? Or The IT Crowd, which I think was on the ABC a while back.

Yeah it's wicked, any show about a bong smoking dog who likes nachos is an instant classic in my books.

Does anyone have a copy of the RB30DET pdf? I've tried the link from several places, but it appears to have been taken down??? Cheers, Benno

The VL sump is narrower than the GTR sump, and needs a small amount of modification around the oil pick up. It does bolt on aside from that though, owing to the two sets of bolt holes in the RB26 block. Have done it, but don't have any photo's sorry.

Bee*R also do the 32/34 kit, I've got a mag at home with an orangey one in, and it looks awesome. Wide body kit too from memory.

(EDIT) Sorry Guys Way too much for injectors!!! Will take $675, and $1400 for package -
Hey there folks. I've got a set of Sard 700cc single hole feed injectors model number : 63500, and Power FC with hand controller all to suit an R33 RB26 for sale. All are brand new in the box, schmick as. They were for a power up job, but are now surplus equipment due to that job not going ahead right now. I'm open to offers, but I'm not desperate enough to go too low. Would love to get rid of them in a package, but will seperate. As a package, I'd take $1500, or $800 each. PM me Cheers, Benno. PFC SOLD and INJECTORS off the market due to me going overseas in a couple of days.

Another thing to consider is the availability of rentals, me and the missus ar elooking for a new place at the moment, and the inner city has f - all rentals, aside from schmucklands which are all shoeboxes. Not sure on the outer suburbs and how they go? Like what's been said tho, I play footy out in the western suburbs, then get out as soon as I can, you couldn't pay me to live out there!! North, or east would be the go. Get a look at a melways somehow and get yourself near a train or tram stop, publis transport can be real handy, esp later at night!!!

Potential Damage With Blown Turbos
RB26TTVL replied to RB26TTVL's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've read through a few of the posts about this kind of damage, but I still can't picture how the ceramic dust gets through to the cylinder, obviously it does somehow??? -

Potential Damage With Blown Turbos
RB26TTVL replied to RB26TTVL's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
You're right, it was the rear one. So, even if the compressor wheel is/was still attached there is a chance that dust and crap got through?? Thanks, also, the sticky link leads to a metal fabrication thread, but i'll get into that section and search around too. Cheers! -
I blew the ceramic turbo's on my R33 RB26, and have since replaced them with hi flowed steel wheel jobbies. However, since i've gotten it all back together, have noticed some severe side effects. (1) Well down on power despite producing solid boost. Also producing white smoke. (2) Getting a fair bit of crap out of the exhaust, which we assume to be the cat converter. Will have it on a hoist later today to check that out. Maybe it's choked up the exhaust. (3) After breaking the exhaust wheel off, there was oil through the intake system. Was running 12psi on the stock turbos, computer and internals. It was only driven a very short distance (1-2km) after the turbo went, and was running fine before that. The fuel system is a bosch 044 with a surge tank, so it shouldn't have run lean and done ring damage should it? Once we get the exhaust off it might solve a lot of mysteries, but I'm interested in people's past experiences. I did do a search but couldn't get anything as specific as i'd like. Cheers.

I picked up a replacement computer a couple of years ago for my R33 RB26 from some mates at a wreckers, chucked it straight in and didn't really look at it. Anyhow, doing some stuff in the passenger footwell the other day and noticed this sticker. It's just a stock motor, and I've now got a power FC which will go in soon. I am curious as to if anyone can shed light on the old one though!
