  6. Hey guys, Just sticking it all back together and we've come up one head stud short, not sure where it's gone but thats not real important. Has anyone got some r33 RB26 head studs that I could pick up in Melbourne this weekend? Thanks, Ben 0439 712 154
  7. Any clues as to where I can track them down?
  8. Where do I find them?? I've spent hours searching... How much power will standard hold?
  9. Chasing some info on RB26 valves, I'm in the process of a solid rebuild after lunching a ceramic turbo. Forged pistons, bearings etc, bottom end is all together. After a quick look at the head though, the valves have been damaged. Now, the problem, I've lurked around the internets for hours now, and searched these forums from top to bottom, including all the sponsors, nobody seems to sell valves. I found one standard set, second hand... What kind of valves have people used in their rebuilds, and where did you find em?
  10. I got a letter sayign to send mine in (i did 6 months about 6 years ago), didn't bother, didn't have any trouble either. I don't recall seeing anything about a fine for not sending it in.
  11. Could be an air leak in your piping somwhere?
  12. Yeah, cos we'd all rather be reporting on credit card scams, dodgy builders, fuel prices and obesity.. pfft yeah right.
  13. I don't have a skyline, but in short - no. She scares me sometimes in our lancer, couldn't imagine her in a 300rwkw car with a locked diff. She agrees completely.
  14. so where has the exhaust wheel and the blades gone? That is your exhaust wheel!
  15. Aren't turbo's 'muffling devices'? Heard that somewhere along the line.. Of course, a complete lack of Cat Conv is a problem.
  16. People not keeping left is a massive problem. It leads to dangerous undertaking and tailgating. Drivers are an easily frustrated bunch, and being held up by a moron doing less than the speed limit in the right hand lane is poor form. Keep Left is a rule here, there are signs spread around the place, esp just after you get on the freeway, but it's just not enforced. I also did my medium rigid licence recently, and had the same thing, keep left, keep left. As you go out through Deer Park thoug, every red light will have a line of trucks across all three lanes. Do they expect to be that much quicker than each other? Or indeed to be able to be quick enough to not obstruct traffic. It's purely selfish driving, which I beleive to be the greatest problem out there, there's no courtesy anymore, everyone is looking out for number one, screw everyone else. end second rant.
  17. I used to drive over the westgate and around the ring road every day, over a strecth of about 4 years, I definently agree that drivers are getting worse. The worst is with all the road works on at the moment, at least 50% of people speed through them, and I'd reckon at least 50% of those drivers sit below the limit everywhere else. eg 80km in a 100 zone, 80km in a roadworks 60km zone. Do they think that by averaging it out it makes it safer? And wet weather is the worst, people freak out and drive like idiots whenever it's wet. Slashing in between lanes without indicating, tailgating, it's all magnified in the wet. People have got it all backwards. end rant.

Saw it this afternoon, it's been getting some big reviews, which doesn't usually mean very much, but I was very impressed. Cool little clip at the end!
  19. It's pretty scary that he has no idea, never mind that he couldn't see it, * there'd be the physical shock of the truck hitting the car he should be able to feel, * the noise of striking the car, * the noise of the car tyres squealing on the road, * the truck labouring as it suddenly has to push over 1000 kgs of car sideways down the road. There's also the fact he didn't seem to upset about it, he seemed to be angry rather than remorseful? Look, my old man's a truckie, and I've driven a few in my time, and most of the drivers I know are amongst the best drivers on the road, but it's d**kheads like this that grab media attention and give the general public the impression that all truckies are drugged up maniacs. And generally, the average driver who has an incident with a truckie has usually brought it upon themselves, eg, pulling in front of them leading up to a red light, because there's space - which of course the truckie has created, and needs to slow and stop his 50 tonne vehicle. on the lighter side - Aussie cops - " oi, are you fair dinkum?" lol.
  20. Depends, If you were pushing it real hard before you started braking, then you've probably got a lot of oil in the top half of your engine, then the braking might be enough to make it appear as though the level is low? Although I'd imagine that the GTS-T sump is fairly well baffled?
  21. It's an rb26, with a set of slides hi-flows. I haven't had a leak down test done, so that might be the next step. I'm def keen to give it a flogging, and I'm prepared to cop some ring/piston/bore damage, but not so keen on dropping a bearing or valve, or putting some big chunks through the turbos.
  22. I just found the comp results: All cylinders were 145 - 150 like I said, but 2 and 3 were both at 125. Not sure on how many kms engine has done, it came from a half cut that also had and aftermarket dash, which had 25, 000 on it. It's an R33 engine though. Can't recall the specific oil, it's pennzoil I believe, certainly not cheapie stuff. Sorry that I'm a bit vague, the car is stored at my folks place up country - no parking at my place
  23. Yeah, I've got the results written down at home, I'll post em up tonight, but just from memory, I think all cylinders were about 145-150, and cylinders 2 and 3 were down by about 10.
