  1. St Arnaud Speed Trials (CAMS event) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys, St Arnaud is a small town in the North Central, located between Bendigo, Ballarat and Horsham. This March 3 and 4 we are holding the Inaugral St Arnaud Speed Trial. It promises to be a great event, with a huge range of different vehicles involved. Entries have only just opened but we've got a few interesting ones through already, including my RB26 Vl and the old mans 650hp 69 Mustang. All the details can be found at the following link, along with contact details if you have further questions, I don't know great amounts about the fine details as I'm not on the actual organising committee. Basically, you'll need a registered and roadworthy car, a helmet and a CAMS S2 licence, which is easy enough to get. The event itself is a timed 400m sprint. St Arnaud is only about an hour away from Bendigo and Horsham, just under an hour and a half from Ballarat, and if you're really keen, about 2.5 hours from Melbourne via either Bendigo or Ballarat. Here's the link, everthing you need to know should be there! http://starnaud.net/speed/
  2. Check this link out, I wasn't there and know nothing about it, but this seems to explain a bit. http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=97704
  3. Apparently if you don't earth it a corrosive charge can build up. Local mechanic who is a bit of a closet maniac suggested it.
  4. Yeah man, real nice, i've had one for about twelve months now in a VL with an RB26, and it's been spot on. They're basically the same as what the V8 supercars use. Just make sure you earth it good, and use nice coolant!
  5. Just looking to buy turbo's.
  6. Brilliant, Thanks for the inside info all, keep it coming if you've got more.
  7. Hey folks, I'm newish to the city from country vic. I'm looking to upgrade turbo's on my RB26, something along the lines of GT2530's. Can anyone recommend a good turbo workshop or dealer? Thanks.
  8. Running around 12 pound of boost. In terms of power being made, just as it's coming on to boost in fourth and fifth it's not following through. Very happy to sit at about 4000rpm, but will go no further. Fuel pressure doesn't drop, boost doesn't drop (aftermarket gauge), they just don't continue to climb. In 1,2 and 3rd, it will make 12 pounds and 8000rpm no worries. The injectors haven't been cleaned since I've had it, but until this I've had no indication that they might be dirty at all. Can it happen so suddenly as to cause this? Sorry, not O2 sensor, I think it is air temp sensor in Inlet!
  9. Injectors are standard GTR, and fuel pressure appeared to be fine, ie, pressure doesn't drop when power drops. Before I changed the afm and O2 sensor, it ran fine, aside from coughing out with the dodgy afm every now and then.
  10. Just recently changed an AFM and the o2 sensor in the inlet manifold which were giving me trouble, I found another problem. I have good power in the first three gears, but can't make power above 4000 rpm in fourth and fifth. Thought it might have been fuel, so I inst. an 044 bosch and surge tank, but no help there. I live in the country and its at least an hour drive to any workshop who can help Has anyone had any trouble along this line. Thanks
  11. Alright, got an R33 RB26 that I've just had the turbo's rebuilt, and since then, had a suspect airflow meter. Last night I installed a new afm and revealed a new problem. Fisrt three gears are fine, revs nicely all the way through to 8000 rpm, making good power. Hit fourth and fifth and it won't pull above 5000. With the old afm I could make full revs in 4th and 5th. Thought it may have been fuel pressure so borrowed a gauge. It made 250 kpa at idle and through to 400 - 450 at full throttle. When it hit the deadzone in fourth and fifth there was no loss of pressure? It's confusing me, maybe someone can point out that I'm missing something simple, or just a thought or direction I might head in? Anyone had anything similar?
  12. Thanks for the help, got them covered for the moment.
  13. Looking to buy one GTR airflow meter, and an air temp sensor, which is the small sensor in the front of the inlet manifold. PM me, reply or contact me on 0439 712154. Cheers.
