There was no mention of a boxed pod in the "fist" post. The officer suggested to return the air filter to stock. However, jaimzr33 asked about a boxed pod, and was given misleading info. A boxed pod is perfectly legal.

Can I ask why you'd recommend powder coating ic piping? Would that have a negative effect in regards to cooling performance by effectively creating a layer of insulation, and inhibiting heat from dissipating?

If it's one with brushes which come in contact with the vehicle at high speed, avoid it. If it's a laser wash, where the only thing coming in contact with the vehicle is jets of water, you'll be fine... it won't matter what sort of vehicle has passed through before you.

I imagine it's much the same as it is for any other car. Remove all the ceiling hardware and interior trims that cover it, undo the clips and pull the lining off.

.....again, people go straight back to "what the media says". I can read what the article says. I simply choose not to take everything written by the media as gospel. If it is true, there may be circumstances behind it which haven't been noted, after all, it's a pretty one sided story at the moment. I can think of plenty of reasons why people would want to chase and kill vermin. Most people wouldn't hesitate to set a mouse trap, yet I wouldn't consider a mouse trap to be a humane way to eradicate vermin. They don't make traps for 6 foot tall mice, so people have to find other ways to deal with the pest issue.

Why is everyone here so intent on believing everything the media says? I can see possible justification here. If I hit a kangaroo with my car, and it was lying on the ground dying, I wouldn't hesitate to cave its head in. Sounds fairly humane...... but all you hippies would rather stand there and watch it suffer? Perhaps some of you "city folk" should go and try make a living off the land so you can find out first hand how much damage a couple of "innocent" kangaroos can cause to your livelihood.

Since when has killing kangaroos been "absolutely illegal"? I see them chopped up in bits in the supermarket all the time. Do they just wait for them to die a natural death before serving them to people?

No date. If the vehicle has EFI, you can put a pod filter on it. (Provided that the filter is the only intake modification) Putting a cover/box on the pod makes no difference.

Why would you bother getting a roadworthy? You've already said that the officer didn't tick the box stating that you needed a roadworthy or engineers certificate. Do Vicroads have a record of the alleged defect? If it's not on their system, what's the point in getting a roadworthy done?

I've spotted a few regular name changes of threads in certain areas, i never know if it's the thread starter doing it, or someone else. I've previously had my personal details changed by an admin, (the "care bears" incident for example) as have many others. Some people can find the intended humour, and others don't think it's funny, but really, nobody should be altering anyones personal account details unless there is something which NEEDS to be changed. (porn, threats, rotten links, inappropriate stuff) If suss things are happening to your account or posts/threads, report it. If you report the post in the area where the "offence" occured, the notification of the post report will go out to the person who moderates the area... in cases like this, it's most likely that the person who has modified your post will also be the one to receive the notification that the post has been reported, so they can choose to ignore it... if you have concerns about this, take it up directly with another mod/admin for your own peace of mind, and to ensure that it IS actually being dealt with. ....... in the meantime, this thread has had over half a thousand views, pretty good publicity for the sale of the car.
