Howdy All, It seems the market is not wanting some 16" full slicks, so i cant sell em, so i might as well use em Thus my dilehma... I have never ever run full slicks and have NFI on setup to account for these. So, the tyres are: 205x50x16 Falken RS Full Racing Slicks, 99% tread. So they will be going onto my R32 GTR rims under my S13 Silvia. The car is usual kerb weight, minus rear seats, so approx 1200kg?!!?? Okay so my questions are (considering will be doing Eastern Creek) 1. Do i need to scrub in slicks? If so, how? 2. What PSI do you run in slicks? 3. Should i adjust the coilovers to soften them up a bit (apparently you so this as there is no flex/give in the slicks tyre wall??) 4. What will be the difference in car attributes, going from an RE55 to these? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as i want to make the most out of these puppies Thanks In Advance! Ando

Thanks again dudes! Well i have 1 round left of Interclub supersprints for the year, so will make do for that, then in the New Year look into a seat. I currently run a 3" 4 point harness which is good over stock seat belt, but i still move around in the stock 32 gtr seat....

But yes i have ahd instructors in the car before but it has been more orientated around the car driving ability itself, more than concentrating on steering input/control... Nothign worse than someone giggling at your style and not being able to explain and assist! In light of all this i think it actually has helped me figure out exactly what i THINK I am doing and why! I have had a very decent break in my left arm/wrist and thus is quite a lot weaker than my right, SO, as someone mentioned, i could be sub-conciously compensating for it and pushing down with my right hand.... also my seat isnt the best... the 32 GTR seat leans back a little so i think i am trying to stablisise myself not only left and right, but front to back as well..... LOL yeah a mate put that together (NFI on video stuffs) and i ROFL'd too at the CHOP CHOP! Um so a stock 32 GTR seat isnt cutting the mustard.... I recently looked at a good Sparco but "Wallet says NNOOOO" But in all seriousness technically speaking (well in simple lamen terms) what am i doing wrong.... you say left handers are shite... is it the shuffling of my hand on the wheel..?? Thats it champ.... not worth the short term glory for long term pain on the car and wallet!! PFFT dont get all "can't replace displacement" on me NA FTL!!!! Indeed indeed. Considering the fact i cant heel/toe or left foot brake yet, i have a lot to learn about steering a car before i worry too much about KW output and big mods.... Apparently some say i have an odd steering wheel technique... LOL not sure what they mean though... Judge for yourself! Get it around a track as best as possible with the tools you have. If you encounter a problem... learn to drive around it. Thats my moto! Oh and also doesn't help that i am a lazy mofo and never bother with tyre pressures and alignments...

Yeah, i have only flicked it to high boost (215rwkw) once as i have enough fun trying to catch the arse with 180rwkw!! Goddman 60/40 weight distribution of S13's But pretty happy with output from a basic setup Also a safety / longevity choice too... rather extract the absolute most out of my driver abilities before cracking up the power and protecting the engine!

Man all this talk of bigger turbz is making my T28BB feel a lack lustre..... So many combinations of setups out there for when i eventually upgrade sometime next year..... Until then i will continue to learn to drive the titties of my little underpowered nugget!! PS. If friggin Natsoft would hurry up already i wanna see if i managed to crack the magical sub 50sec @ OP South on Sunday.....

I am most probably the least knowledgable with specs and setups but just my untrained eye thinks yes something is amiss with that setup and only 190rwkw. As a comparison of a basic modded SR20 and power output i have as follows: Walbro Pump 550cc inj Step 1 HKS Cams FMIC Z32 T28BB PFC Profec B 3" Turbo back and @ approx 12 psi pushes about 180rwkw then @ 15-16psi is pushes 210-215rwkw. All tuned by the magical wizard Yavuz @ Unigroup! So maybe cams are the factor that is missing... dunno

I love my A/C in the failvia S13... I just lost 10kg's in body weight over the last 3 months so that justifies leaving the AC IMO Im with you mate, noice n cool whilst waiting to hit the track! But on topic, i am in the same boat. Have a road registered S13 that only comes out for track work and to the mechanics. So trying to get the most out of the car whilst retaining re-sale ability is a fine line! I have just stripped the boot and rear seats. Sometimes passanger seat comes out for a few kg's of saving... But going to the next step of carpet, sound deadening, parcel shelf etc etc is one i am a bit dubious about....

Thats the method to my madness .... you guys have taken a serious approach to the S13 setups and i am currently sitting on the fence on whether to take it to the next level or just leave it as is. Amen to that! My little GT28r is left a little 'wanting' compared to these 3071 setups etc etc.... If only i had $2-3K spare.... Sheesh.... overkill much LOL....

Awesome day boys n gals! Glad to see everyone had a ball with next to no casualties!! Never having skidded the failvia before it was a great opportunity to just shread tyres, didnt really take much notice of course layout..... oopps Turns out the silvia likes to smoke some tyres and wheel spin all the way down the whoa-to-go..... Now if i can just figure out how to edit a vid and upload it i will do so... positioned my camera on the rear wheel for one session.... all i can say is... SMOKIN.... Watch this space, ill see what i can do!
