  1. you have heaps of reading ahead of you, all your questions and more are on these forums and have been answered many times over.... as for your engine, keep it drive it, when it breaks replace with another, if someone is selling a built engine for 2800 there something wrong, most of the time the std OEM engine is more reliable than a rebuilt one, nissan built how many thousands of engines and they last way over 100,000Ks without issue, so if you want to go for an engine built by professionals go with a std nissan engine... service every 5000Ks and all is good, use good fluids and filters. nistune is an option, Ive read its about $1100 tuned if you find the right person to supply and tune. it all depends on how far your going to go, PowerFC is another choice and there are heaps more, Im going from my PowerFC to something that can take a flex fuel setup, read up on flex fuel to know what that is, just saying the ECU I have isnt what I need so now I have to replace it, so in saying that nistune may not be what you need, its just another option, do some reading work out what you want to do and your budget and go from there.... for starters maybe download an r33 workshop manual so you know where parts are and how to service them... all mods will come down to how much you can afford and how much you can do yourself... what do you want to do with your car, street only, occasional track, full time track, drag, drift, what??? this will give you a direction on how and what to modify... and post some pics of you car!
  2. VW blue motion is more comfortable when its raining and best fuel efficiency in a car...
  3. I think you mean, 'Hi Everyone, Im brand new to cars'
  4. It is interesting to note that only one of the fog light covers has gone milky, the other is fine, so thats even stranger cause same supplier, same batch even, same sunlight exposure... so I dunno...
  5. oh I do have Bpillars from this group buy to install as well but I got sent two left hand side ones so Dori is fixing that up for me... pics of it installed will come along once the part is here.
  6. Ive installed some of my CF parts from this group buy, thought everyone might like to see some results. I do still need to remove all the parts and get them clear coated to stop them going milky. that includes removing my PSI parts fog light covers cause one of those has gone milky already and the car is pretty much always in the garage, I hardly get a chance to drive it. I still also have a rear diffuser and eye lids both in CF to install too, Im hoping all the different brands of parts have very similar or matching weaves and colours. The OEM wing blade wasnt easy to get off for starters, an end bolt needed to be drilled out as it was free turning, but after coming to the dreaded decision that must be done it wasnt too bad and the OEM wing will live to be installed again if needed. the CF wing blade and end caps fitted not too bad considering the price to be honest... some slight modifications to the mounting points and some widening of the bolt holes in the blade bracket on the car and they were a firm fit from the front overall from the front the front from the top on the right End cap The fuse box cover wasnt an easy OEM fit either but some mild persuasion and it was all good. In comparison to other more expensive CF parts there are obvious fitting differences, the most expensive parts fit perfect like OEM, but to the untrained eye most would not be able to tell the differences between these parts from the group buy to the brand name jap stuff I have. I did a weave shot from my Garage Defend cooling panel and the fuse box cover. there is a slight wave in the surface of the fuse box cover and the weave is bit neater on the defend piece but overall similar size weave on both so may come fairly close to matching. china weave Garage Defend weave
  7. Yep I used spray degreaser on the engine bay and use a high pressure washer but just make sure I dont spray too hard core are spark plug valley & air intake, I have the motor running while rinsing I do it so it dries quicker, heats up grease and oil to come off a little easier and also if the motor sound changes I know Ive soaked an area too much...
  8. neither engine has rockers...?? but I dont like either, use rb26 cam covers on your rb25 with the cam gear backing plate and cam belt cover and it looks great, but you also need a front facing plenum... its really the only option for best results.... and then you can also make use of mines cam baffles as well..
  9. make it out of alloy sheet not perspex....
  10. I just used generic accordion style cv joint boots from repco, $10ea with cut to size and they are a snug fit over the bilstein sleeve and the std bump stop which I cut a lobe off so they were a tad shorter using double strands of wire top and bottom to ensure they dont move... done Ive used this method on 2 bilstein installs now, been in for over 2 years still in place no tears or anything...
  11. which Front Facing Plenum do you use??
  12. oh sweet, dont know how I missed that one...
  13. retuned and std ecu, how does that work, timing and done?? dont let them charge you much for that... TE37 or TE37SL ftw
  14. yep, on close to full lock the rim hits the suspension, not the strut though...
  15. why do you have 255 on the front and 245 on the rear??? 245 on front and 255 on rear will have less clearance issues surely? are they 17x9 +22 all front and rear, cause it looks like a good offset and size to have on a gtst.. I know 17x9 +38 dont fit on the front comfortably with 255 tyres
  16. PSI parts group buy!!! We need a Phil (PM-R33 the group buy king) replacement...
  17. Wow artz here i was tryjng to be nice and helpful when it all it took was blunt and sarcastic to get it through to them this time. Well done
  18. Oh ok so i dont need an afm on my car because i have a power fc, yeah ok wow ive never heard that before, hmmm Maybe you should double check your knowledge on that on cause your wrong...!
  19. if he is like me, 400hp in rwd car not fun in rain, Id rather take it on dry drives
  20. obviously not enough
  21. problem is he wont understand what you just wrote...
  22. whats an E80 afm?? your exhaust changes from 3 to 3.5"??? ok, I said enough you need to learn what it is people are suggesting otherwise I could suggest you need to install a WMI kit for brake cooling and install a hicas lock bar to reduce turbo lag
  23. list your current mods, with details, like models, brands etc...
  24. you can ask for options but really you'll just one persons opinion of many peoples opinions and then be left confused or going off what someone thinks is best... it could in fact be wrong for you.. the haltech you mention is a plug in ECU yeah... the PowerFC is complete ECU and you mentioned the boost control kit as boost controller... you dont want to be using two ECUs...?? flex fuel means you can use 98 and E85 in the same fuel tank and the ECU can trim fuel to compensate for the ethanol content changing... search SAU for flex fuel, you have much to learn... I mention tyres cause you'll end up buying lots of them and decent tyres will actually hold the power alot better than crap ones... start reading...
