Firstly, Congratulations!! You'll never look back from here... Being a father of 3 boys aged 7, 3.5 and 0.75 I can honestly say they bring more joy than most anything else in this world... There are no laws against putting a baby capsule / seat on the side as opposed to the middle... You may find that the clearance when using a capsule requires you to move the seat quite a way forward though... It may be best to use the passenger side for this reason... No special brackets should be required if you have all 3 child restraint bolts in the parcel shelf... You may find that the baby seat / capsule leans to one side a little when used on the side though due to the hump in the middle of the rear seat... A folded towel underneath the baby seat evens things out... I'd recommend that you get a convertable baby seat / capsule... ie one that can be used as a baby capsule in the early months and then "stood up" once the child is old enough to sit up... I use and can recommend the Fisher Price baby seat / capsule... It's lasted over 3.5 years of continuous use for my kids and is still going strong... Well made and very comfortable for the children.
