I'll do the fuse testing in the morning, after losing patience with the car earlier I went back to building my server... now it's time to sleep. I already checked the fuse in the back of the HU and it's fine. The 12V line from the battery is fused next to the factory under-bonnet fusebox, if that's what you mean Cheers

As you've realised, they're the power leads. I have the same in my car... looks kinda funky at night

sky017: As mentioned above, I already replaced the fuse near the battery. Howie: I've already checked the audio fuse, however I'll check more fuses under the dash... at the moment I have no HU power, let alone amp. I already have the deck out and can't find any inline fuse behind there. I've had the HU out a few times, the install was done by Gold Coast Car Sound, and I was never happy with it (they used shitty RCA's and were generally just wankers). Thanks guys

Hi all, Took all my audio gear out to go to the track a while back, threw it all back in the other day and no go! Didn't think anything of it, til the other night I tried all the fuses I could find (audio under dash, inline from battery, amp, headunit). All seemed ok, so I tried pulling out and reseating every cable I could find. I went for a quick drive to pick someone up, came back to get back into troubleshooting, unhooked the battery and off we go. I have an issue with my fine motor skills and sometimes I just drop things - once such incidence occured causing me to touch the rem line on either the pos or gnd outlets on the amp. I'm not sure which, I just know there was a spark. Instantly I dropped everything (literally) and checked the battery - stupid me in my rush had disconnected the terminal, but not secured it away from the battery and it was resting against neg... After berating myself for being so foolish I set about looking to resolve any further problems I'd caused - only the fuse from the battery had blown - all others were OK. I'm having a look at it now and I have no idea what else it could be? Are there any other under-dash fuses I should check? Thanks in advance, I've spent quite a while on this and seem to be stuck

How difficult are they to install? Do you have to drop the front bar?

Looks good. I gave mine a light sand prior to spraying. Liked them all one colour initially, but I think I'll file off the top of the nissan logo next time the wheels are off.

Is there an issue with simply using brake caliper paint? Surely this would be designed for a high variance in temperature...
