Exactly right nos man, regarding reaction to turn out the way. This isn't allways possible though. If we had been to advanced driver training , we would all know that the proper thing to do in that situation would of been to ram into the car infront because you could brace your self unlike when I spun out of control in the path of the other traffic. I was lucky it wasnt a truck ! I could of ended up under it's wheels like in 2 fast 2 furious. Mince meat in other words.

Already checked with insurance company and they said premium wont go up just excess might go up $200-$500. I have had my fair share of speeding fines, undue noise and failing to keep left (last 2 were harrasment in my view(tailgated by un marked cop cars)) so I have 9 points and dont loose any for another year. The worst thing is that I might get an infringement notice in mail for failing to keep a safe distance from the car in front or for unsafe lane change. (my car was out of control (that last one is bullsh#t)) these acrue 2 and 3 points so we will have to see what happens. Bottom line people, this was an accident unlike what happened to Kyes car , that was just plain CRIMINAL

Jazza r33 , I will put it this way . If a milkshake (good one nightcrawler) pulled in front of you and all of a sudden slammed on his brakes in front of you (road rage or whatever) and you had no where to go except up his ass end , as far as the law is concerned, you are to blame. Now if you would accept this , OK, if not , well then you might see where I'm coming from . Secondly I dont tail gate and allways try to keep a safe distance in front of me (this is why the call these accidents) Thirdly , I'm not stupid mate and dont like being told by someone 10 years younger than me how to drive. (telling you this in a friendly manner) And last of all , Im not shirking my responsibility and blame , and all of us still arent mentioning what could be lurking in our rear view mirrors before we brake hard ie SEMI TRAILER. O and no anger to nightcrawler Sorry to Kye for hyjacking his thread
-
kye , If you catch these wan$#rs , make sure you let us all Know and invite us all over for a byo bbq.(bring your own stick) We can use them as a pinyata (hang them from your clothes line) and beat the sh#t out of them with some big sticks. O , by the way I work at the hardware store so I will bring some 6" nails if required. Can you put the car behind a fence or gate at night because these pricks probably will be back .(If so above action required) Good luck with the repair job mate .(they made a mess alright) Nightcrawler, yes my wife did make a full recovery, and so did the cat I didn't mention the cat was sitting on my lap. She was lost for 8 weeks and we got her back by miracle. Thats another story in itself. lol
-
sorry nightcrawler but I am offended by your comments Let me see if you can keep that distance clear infront of you in peek hour traffic . Some one will jump in front of you straight away and your 8 car distance will be 3-4 instantly(as you said that no one does anyway) I have driven for 20 years and also had a truck business for 2 years aswell.(seen some crazy shit) I allways keep a safe distance infront of me. If it someone in the 4wd got out and hit me ,look out for an assault charge. Or for my club lock leaving it's imprint on their face. O sorry no offence Mate , my wife and I have been the innocent party in a serious car crash a few years back and know the hardship it can cause t boned on kapunda rd (datsun 1967 bluebird(only was 20 left) now 19 lol) wife (driver) broken ribs x3 broken pelvis 4 places broken coxis bone lacerated liver and lung collapsed lung cuts to head and a coma for a week (intesive care unit)(7 weeksin hospital) me (passenger) broken jaw broken cheek 3 broken ribs torn disc in lower lumbar back cuts and bruises I was thrown out of the vehicle as it rolled and it (car) then landed ontop of me. I landed in the spoon drain which stopped me from being crushed. my wife had to be cut out and died 2 times on the way in the chopper to adelaide she's ok now obviously financialy who cares as cars can be replaced or repaired but lives cant . This I know from experience

Dont worry import s13, I had a shit day yesterday as well . My red toyota seca (daily driver) was smashed up yesterday on main north just pass Midway rd on the way to work. Some stupid lady wasnt watching in front of her and when she did realise a car was slowing down in front of her and slammed on her brakes. She had abs and my little seca didnt. I tryed to avoid her car because the middle lane was clear , but just touched her rear end which spun me out to the third lane where I hit a blue honda 4wd and this caused me to spin more out of control. My car was slidding sidways down the road , and the 4wd rolled onto it's roof. I finalally got grip back on my tyres which sent me up the kerb and come to a halt. Luckally I wasnt hurt and the 4wd driver (male) had only a deep cut on his knee. The ambo's took him to hospital for observation and checks anyway. The comodore (lady's) had barely a scratch on it and was a hire car. Probably would of been better to just run up her rear end. lucky I wasnt cleaned up by some one when I was sliding side ways down the road (peak hour traffic) Now this will cost me $300 excess $216 towing fees $1600 car written off Luckally it wasnt the GTR. Mind you it probably would of pulled up in time. sorry to hear about your car import s 13 any way.

I dont have the space to do it myself and wouldn't know where to start. I have been talking to Jason who used to work at united subaru in town (he owns a 32GTR vspec s"2) and he lives just around the corner from my work. He is offering to do the job with a cheaper labour price than where the car has been before(mates rates), and seems to know his stuff. Might take a bit longer than a workshop but that is alright because I wont get the bulls#@t dribble that I seem to get elsewhere. Because the car makes close to 300rwks I am been told to keep to the twin plate item's. My 32GTR has the 33GTR box in it because it was one of the last 200 made. The car has the pull clutch mechanism which has linkages added to convert it to a push type in the bell housing and these will come out and be available at a later stage for some one to pick up (worth $200 secondhand) Might suit a 33GTR owner.

I have a exedy twin plate which needs rebuilding or replacement. Have spoken to extreme clutches (adelaide clutch services) already by the way. Just checking out other options and opinions.
-
Asking people what type of clutch they use ? Cost of the clutch ? Labour cost's ? Rebuild cost's ? And lastly , where did you get it done ? sorry dyno results (rwks) would also be worth a mention all comment's welcome thanks Michael

possibly ripped off again but the work shop in question quotted me that price but stuffed me around for 6 weeks and ended up doing it for free. claimed under warranty in the end {they did}.

Emma is now 3 1/2 and calls my car a race car . Since its been of the road {8months}{to long} she constantly ask's me when are WE going to take it for a drive. She also knows a 32 from the other models. {thats like daddy's} Still laughing about the whooosh and broooom though

One of these days I will have to take you for a spin . It isnt that bad at all. It just stops a bit of the roll in the back thats all . By the way my daughter has been in the back of my GTR since she was 6 months old and loves my car . You should of heard her the other day when I took it around the block without her

You Know You Drive A Skyline When .. ... .
savage GTR replied to SAGTS-4's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
When you start up your car, all you neighbours are gathering out the front of their houses and saying nasty things about you and your damm skyline { just because they drive taxis} How I love the sound of 2.6 rb engines LOL and your wife can start cooking dinner 5 mins before you get home because she can hear you coming -
Which bushes are you talking about cubes? cradle or suspension control arms? My rear cradle bushes went a while back{leaking silicon on drive way} and had solid aluminium cones put in and they really steadied up the rear. They were custom made $600 pair and save you having to drop the rear cradle completely {just push through the old ones} so save labour cost's and are perfect for drifting set ups etc. My front radius rods and top suspension control arms bushes needed replacing and I had them replaced recently with offset camber ones by steve at manta .All up radius rod kit $249 and adjustable off set camber kit $517 including fitting . Of course wheel alignment $40 and the car perfoms better than new . The car was starting to drift all over the place before it was done . He also drilled and fitted grease points aswell included in above price. Money well spent I think. The aluminium cones however took 6 weeks to get hold of due to supply and demand . All plus gst though.

Has anyone here tryed fisher performance on main north road ? spoke to a fellow there and he seemed quite reasonable. price wise i mean. Also , has anyone used adelaide brake and clutch services around cavan rd ?{clutch repairs or rebuilds} Any feadback apreciated.
-
has any one here tryed using the os gilken cross gear set in their box? surposed to be tuff as and a lot more freindly than a straight cut dog box gear set. reading from fast fours and rotarys these are selling at $3500 for cross and from $6500 for dog box internals feed back apreciated.

I would guess , take a look at the compliance plate . It should have the compliance workshop's name on it and you could start by asking them about how to get the papers. good luck

Seen the car in the flesh today and was a little disappointed. Running and all that but no trim{chrome parts} on the car because as the owner said , no point in putting them back on because he was going to respray it himself. I had hoped to get in and drive away. All the spares are there though. More of a project car than a reliable streeter. By the way, has riggy 167,000 km's on the clock . Was offering him $1000 less than what he was asking for it to make it a bit more attractive to my wife. MMM see what happens catch is ,getting bug for that bwap bwap bwap noise. nice example of rx4 coupe in queensland that ive seen and rx3 coupe for sale here in sa LOL let you know what happens. bwap bwap bwap.

It's getting to the stage where you find a good workshop, they treat you good for a while then shaft you, find another workshop and same thing ,good for a while then you get shafted again. Sick of this sh$t . Bl4cK32 , where do you get your car done ? My problem is I work 10hr days and on my day's of I'm knackered and wouldn't trust myself doing these repair's ( nitro rc car's no worry's} . Talking clutches, my exedy twin plate needs rebuilding . Any recomendations? How much? I have been told by a mechanic {big name workshop again} that it is $200 cheaper to rebuild it, than buying a new one . Is this bullsh$t ? Some one else{advan} said all I need is new plates {$700-$800} + labour, and rebuild Hydrolic booster seal's including labour $150 approx . Compared to what I was charged for the clutch in the first place, Way cheaper option . Some one else said go see adelaide clutch services and they could make up chromeolly or whatever it is plates that will last twice as long as the above ones and cost a fraction more. Now the first workshop said that it's no use just doing plates etc because some other part would be knackered , which is why he said replace it rather than rebuild it .{ can't remember the part though} . I will say I am now confused as sh#t . You people probably are too. LOL Now please HELP a guy who's about to have a nervous brakedown get some sleep and peace of mind any comment's PLEASE Or if you have a magic wand, can I borrow it. LOL

Beware Of Two Suspicious Character In Silver Ef Falcon
savage GTR replied to Giveitall's topic in South Australia
paranoid {black sabbath song}and most skyline owner's {defects and jealous people} every one does want my car toss a coin heads, they break in, tail's they steal it {your choice not our's} really nice people who like your car enough to steal it or damage it conclusion {jumping mad if they did} to soon {not if I can help it }{gone in 60 second's} I drove a cortina ,torana, ford falcon panel van{V8 XC}, torana and long hair for 15years {am a bogan}. snoby towards Idiots {dont know the area and shoot of their mouth kind of people} and Idiots who break into other people's car's or property skyline's rule okay By the way pokie , finally cut of my hair after 15 year's LOL -
I could of been an old skool member if I could of found the site. Munro told me about the site when he had his evo,r34,r33 x2 back early 03 or 02 but I couldn't bl#*dy find it . All I could find was the nsv one and a few other's but munro said that skylines australia was the only one worth looking at . LOL Took me 3-4 years to finally find it .LOL Better late than never I surpose

As far as the gear box goes, it is a brand new r33 1998 GTR box. My GTR is a 1994 R32 and has the R33 GTR box in it from the factory. It has the pull mechanism instead of the push one. The input shaft bearing is going and will cost $2,600 to replace {so I been told} and I think this makes the new box sound more attractive, if you know what I mean. Mind you if some one out there want's to throw me $20,000 of there money I will gladly throw in a R34 box

just wondering if people here in adelaide have compared prices of thing's like turbo's,exhaust's air flow meter's etc lately. I did some investigation today. GTR air flow meter's adelaide $350 second hand $500 brand new sydney brand new $350 clutch exedy twin plate adelaide $2,800 sydney $2,200 1994 r32gtr gear box adelaide $3,800 sydney $3,000 This is approx what I found out anyway speaking to peter from advan performance in silverwater Sydney. Seem's to me alot of us over here are getting ripped off big time. If other people have found this to be true please post here so we can compare common thing's that we might end up having to replace at any time. thank's

I have been checking out the rotary forums and this stuff is just not available. Speaking to mazda wrecker's , they have said to me that these spare's are to hard to obtain these day's and cost a fortune , ie doors for $900 each. The wife seem's okay with the purchase to but this will have me with 4 car's to rego and insure{single wage} Other than the extra ins and reg expense, I hate to think what my neighbour's will think. My gtr is pretty loud with the 3 1/2" sytem{dump pipes back to muffler} and carbon fibre cannon 4' muffler, so to have a RX4 coupe going bwap bwap bwap etc , I think it will make me the most hated guy on the block. LOL. I started up the gtr yesterday to move some fluid in it {oil} etc and the look on the neighbour's face's was {not that fu*#en thing again} . O well , appreciate the comment's people [any more welcome] thank's michael
