savage GTR

Hi Simon, prices for a R32GTR would be nice and for a service aswell

Spotted a red R34 4door on park terrace on monday about miday heading towards main north . Nice and clean car . Spotted a silver R33 on main north monday night heading towards gawler , gave a wave and got one back. Nice clean car mate. Spotted a gold R33 witha black bonnet shooting up the strand from park terrace yesterday. It had black plates with silver writing but didnt get the plates. Had a kit also and a chick driving I think . Was about 2pm ish. Also spotted a R33 4door , gunmetal in colour with a kit aswell. looked clean as . Was in afternoon also and on park terrace aswell. My missus spotted a R32GTR on the weekend with plates GODZILLA.

Hi SLED , thought I would just say that if your car was a new import, they would of had to put new oil in the car for compliance reasons . The question is what type of oil . If the car was complied by a reputable workshop , they should of put in a good quality oil anyway. But even then , I must admit , that I changed every oil in my car in the first month . Mark Tilbrook recomended me to do this ,and I did ,so I wouldn't get any nasty surprises. Just my 2c for you . Michael

As I said, dont take the car there anymore so no chance to tell Mark . Besides I dont trust them anymore , would you? You tell me what your thought's would be If you found out that , at $100 prhour, some tool put the wrong oil in you pride and joy , forgot the dipstick , lost my exhaust and didnt tell me and charged $480 for a part they didnt install. Thats atleast 3 times stated that they stuffed up. This car owes me $70,000+ And what do you think this thread was asking. derrr Ya dipstick LOL

Would like to just say that I have cruised up hindley street , rundle street and jetty road many times and I have never ever been pulled over for a defect. (touching wood). My car is loud but that is all. I will say that the wife and daughter are in the car with me most of the time though. The only time I was ever harassed was by an undercover highway cop who I was tempted to take to court. I was minding my own business on the way home from work on the gawler bypass and in the left lane turning off into the malalla willaston turnoff when he changed from the right lane to the left and proceded to tailgate me around the bend (headlights on up my backside). I looked in my mirror and didn't see double bubbles so gave it a little around the bend and onto the bridge over the bypass in towards willaston. As soon as I was through the round about he flashed the red and blue. I pulled over and left the car running. He got out with me and proceded to say that he had followed me from munno para. He accused me of speeding, changing lanes to often, tailgating, failing to keep left and spinning my wheels. I could do you for a number of things ^^ he said so which would you like. I said your the one issuing the fine so you do what you have to in a polite manner. He booked me for failing to keep left. $180 and 3 demerits. THANKS I was told to take it to court because of the pushing around the corner thing and the chance of 1-10 that he would be too busy to be at court that day but thought otherwise. (my record of having a lead right foot ^^(3 speeding fines in the GTR)) The judge would'nt believe my word over an officer of the law. I've since put helium in my shoe. LOL That's 1 bad experiance . Then there's the good under cover cop(female) that catched me taking of from the light's on macytyre rd / ne road intersection in the left lane (lane 3) . I took of and gave it a little as I went around the corner and the car slide a little sideways(in the wet) so I kept my foot slightly on the gas as I waited for the wheels to grip . I probably got up to 100kphr in a 60 kphr zone( no way condoning this behaviour ) and she flashed her lights and I pulled over. I apologized and explaned why I did it (loss of traction LOL) and she gave me a fine of$90 for excessive noise(wheel spin) and 1 demerit point. I thanked her and she said be more carful in the future and by the way nice car Another thing , If we have shiny rims, tinted windows, stickers saying what mods we might have and anything else that makes our car's look modified , we are asking for them to pull us over and have a look at our rides. So as said above plenty of times, there are good and bad cops . We just have to be good boys and girls and hopefully we will have no hassles

I forgot to mention that they put the wrong type of oil in the gearbox aswell. Found out the last time I replaced the clutch. Havent told Mark about that though.

Was thinking of doing the same thing only yesterday . lol Dont know about the pub part , but the light's and cruise sounds good. This still depends wether or not my car is finished getting the front bar and bonnet resprayed. Its should be finished by tomorow afternoon if all goes to plan. How big a cruise are you talking about ? Car has only half a tank of fuel and would rather fill up on tuesday next week so next week would be better for me. Next week instead of this week ? Other wise will have to let you know then, Steve.

No , he didnt build my engine. The motor itself is stock. The last compression test was perfect for all 6 cylinders done at manta racing. This was one of the reasons that I changed workshops.

The loss of pressure, not all wasn't the biggest problem but the danger of the motor lossing oil was the bigger of the 2 evils. Was told by Mark himself that this wasn't good for the car as he new where I lived and (quote "a GTR should be driven enthusiastically" ) new my driving style "(give it a boot here and there) He did do the next service cheap and threw in a clean under the bonnet for free (so he should) Hope he kicked the responsible person's ass.

I was using Classic cars insurance originally but when some old lady stalled her car at the lights and rolled into the front of my car , they were the most rude and arogant Pr#@ks to talk to and deal with . Will never recomend them to anyone. This is the case with most of them though and hopefully you, me, will never have to. ie never have bad luck and have to make a claim. I have tryed Shannons and they dont seem interested in an imported R32GTR. just my thought's michael

My car has had over $30,000 spent on it at tilbrooks and want get a cent more out of me. The last tune was so close to detonation that I'm lucky its still in 1 piece, do you want to see the dyno report. There is one dipstick that worked there. (forgot to put it back in place and car was taken home gawler 50kms trip in that condition) I went ballistic at Mark. quote ,"Theres 2 dipsticks at your workshop and one should be in my motor." This is a 300rwkw gtr with bugger all oil pressure and oil all over my bonnet and motor . I wasnt very happy especially at $100 per hour. My stock exhaust disappeared from the back lock up. The last clutch cost $500 more than my new one (exactly the same unit) and the nizmo clutch adapter that I got charged for was never installed $480. Want to see receipt Lets just say that I will never go there again and Now see Steve at Manta racing . The tuning is done at wilall racing and wasnt tuned by Martin but by Peter Hall . He is the one that corrected my tune. Now I must admit that Mark wasnt the one who did the work on my car (Mick K. from subzero who left anyway did 75%) But is the shop owner and must take responsibility for the work done in his premises. He nows that I still respect him and his advice ocasionally but knows that I will never take my car there again. All above said, He told me last time I spoke to him that He was considering shuting up the workshop at the end of the year due to being hard finding reliable and hard working mechanics that know imports.

Try H2P insurance, underwritten by RAA . $890 fullcomp with mods. Im 35 but not sure what my rating is . It will depend on the suburb that you live , your age , speeding fines, where it is parked, amout of K's that you do and if it is alarmed (which it will). good luck

I have passed on the footage to the police and we will see what will happen. There were 2 guys hanging around the car for a few minutes (on foot) and a green VR comodore parked in the way so you couldn't see what was going on . I cant say much more . Sorry to hear about your bad luck Ryan. I am doing exactly as you are , and keeping my beast behind roller doors and only bringing it out for the ocasional drive. Same place as what happened to me . (door seal by handle) If the little pr$@s are reading this , it only works on comodores you dumbf@*ks. Get your selves a real job and buy your own.

The car was nice and clean , so I was tempted to take it down to the cop shop to see if they could get some finger prints of it . Window tint and exhaust made me think about defect so I changed my mind . Would of been typical , you know , go down being the victim of attempted breakin only to get victimised more and get a canary shoved on the window .

The owner will be at my work tomorow so I can look through the footage myself. I will post up any details of the car and person involved ie type of car and colour and brief description of those involved.(except plates of vehicle , that goes to the police with a copy of the video) There is one other thing though . A couple of weeks ago , a red 34 2door skyline pulled into the carpark and stopped for a while (motor left running ) and sped off out of the carpark when approached by a fellow staff member.My car alarm went off and I came running out into the car park to see it taking off down the road . If this person is on this forum please say so ,(that way we can rule you out of the suspect list) other wise people I would be warey of any car similar hanging around your beasts . I didn't mind people looking at the car but would be nice if they introduce themselves first .

Sounds dodgy to me mate. If he was real keen , he would be prepared to meet anywhere. When I sold my R33, I had it sitting at work with a big sign in the window and advertised it . I sold it to a person that seen it at work . This , I wouldn't do again but. ( what happened yesterday now makes me feel differently ) This ^^^ was a couple of years back though. Talking to someone over the phone or face to face can give an idea about them Psych their voice The other thing that I would recomend would to be rock up early. This would give you the chance to scope out the chosen location for possible dodgey mates of the purchaser . Last thing you would want would to be followed home by the purchaser or their mates
