Is it just me or is the market for selling a skyline really crap?
siksII replied to Bleach1's topic in New South Wales
im sure you will sell it, its just a matter of time, and you have to remember to be realistic in relation to price. i think this is the single factor that really affects how long it will take to sell your car. if the price is right, then its only a matter of time before someone with the money and will comes to get it. if the price is wrong, u will definetly be stuck with it for a longg time. a friend mentioned to me the other day, u should advertise it for very near to what your lowest price would be, dont bother sticking thousands on top or you will have trouble selling it, and i would agree with that, i advertised my car for 22500 in the trading post and sold for $22000. how much did u advertise for in the trading post? -

rs73, he wasnt an expert, he was buying the car for his son as a birthday present he was a very nice older guy sounded really genuine, and i didnt have time to meet him somewhere else so in the end i just gave him my address.. but i have never shown any car im selling to someone at my home address before, they dont need to know where i live. besides, if they think they do need to know, its probably for the wrong reasons i think the deciding factor for my buyer was the colour, its a series 2 red colour.. its quite rare and different from the series 1 wine red colour. as merli has brought up, i was really surprised that they didnt even have a peek under the car, nor drive it before he handed over the $$. i was happy, but i felt like telling him he should watch out when buying these cars because at the rate he was going, i could have sold him a shitter and he wouldnt have known. -

i sold my r33 gtst series 2 on carsales approx 2 months ago for 22k. barely got any interest, only 2 serious buyers. one was lazy with finance, the other(mature guy) came in the morning, had a good look, didnt even test drive it, called in the avo with an offer, and came the next morning with a bank cheque., he is lucky the car was perfect, because with him not even test driving it, it could have had problems and he wouldnt have even known. -
FS: Highly Modified 1995 S1 R33 GTST - Sydney

I can vouch for this car as well, it goes like a rocket!! -
dont worry, its normal! as a guide, over one weekend i did lots of open road driving, (not all freeway, mostly high speed twisty roads) and calculated 9.5L/100kms in reasonably heavy city driving, most of the time consumption was between 16-18L/100kms. btw, dont take the fuel gauge as a guide to when it is empty, u can only accurately measure consumption by filling up, resetting the trip meter, then next time u fill up see how much goes in and work it out with the distance travelled.

i had a consultation with mark, he is good, but not cheap, even charges for travel time if the case is not at his local (hornsby) court. for one session in court dont expect change from around $1400 also his first consultation is not free, its $240.. so have a good think about costs... i would go and try to represent myself, i dont think its worth getting a lawyer when it will cost u three times as much as the fine.. get some legal advice and represent yourself. -
a thread i started about hills motorsport got deleted of this forum a few months ago, but got lots of views an replys before it was deleted, so at least some people read what happened.. dont worry about it.

R33 GTR Series 1-3 differences?
siksII replied to siksII's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey, thanks for the help but i need definite answers, and i dont think yours add up, as today i saw a 1996 with twin airbags, and no HID lights. Also i have seen a 1996 with intercooler vents(the holes in the bumper right..) definite answers would be good, the results of speculation is what i already have -
I have already searched, and have not found the info i am looking for. People seem to accept that a 1996 GTR is a 'series 2', all of them have dual air bags, as opposed to 1995 models.. But the thing that is confusing is that some have HID lights and some dont. I have also been told that you could just option up a 1995 to have dual airbags.. So basically what are the differences between 1996 till 1998, in terms of standard equipment, and options. (HID lights maybe an option?) Build dates for actual series 1 series 2 etc would be helpful on top of the specs. Ps. i dont want to know the difference between a Vspec and non Vspec, know it already.

mine was heavy like that too exercise for the leg muscles.

then it is the cylinder, no wd40 can fix that ! i am not 100% sure but i think its caused by crap getting between the piston(plastic) and the cylinder that causes the nosie.
-
i know what this is, i had the same problem, its the slave cylinder. look under the car at the cylinder while a friend pushes the clutch, and as the piston moves in and out it will make the squeek noise... if you want it to go away, replace the cylinder.. although it problably wont amount to much if left unfixed.

Honda Prelude VTI-R ATTS For Sale-Modified
siksII replied to GT1's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
This car flies, it would give a (stock)r33 gts-t a run for its money up to 100km/h... (i have ridden in it many times and owned a gts-t) -
that video is awesome, well worth buying, i saw it at my friends place a few months ago.. seeing the porsche going down the straight at le mans is crazy and i would buy it just for that
-
low25t: the stock radiators and fans are branded calsonic, so i dont think you need to list that

How do you guys afford such nice cars?!
siksII replied to Jaxe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
had a swift gti from ages 17--19 and bought a 1996 r33 gts-t (had two cars for a period) when i was 18, and just sold a month ago after owning it for a year.. the whole time i studied full time and worked nights... i saved for half of the first car then borrowed and paid back the rest... the skyline i borrowed 12.5 grand for, and had the rest saved up.. now after selling i have $15 grand in savings, but no skyline(or licence for 4 more months) oh yeah and i am studying IT as well... networking.. i have 20 hours a week of classes and 30 hours a week of work, so i dont have much spare time but make the most of it -
hey guys i just sent all your posts to my sister who is in i think osaka atm.. we decided to get a video camera.. a panasonic 3ccd or mini dv model... i asked my sister to just shop around and see what is best.. also to look for ipods, if they are cheap there maybe i should buy like 10 of them and resell them cheap here.. i really wanted to get the ipod MINI but those apple bastards cant make them fast enough to quench US demand, and therefore have pushed back worldwide deliveries by 3 MONTHS! anyway.. hopefully my sis will go and get a nice tiny camcorder for me to make car videos with

yeah i think it is stupid too abo when i read it i couldnt believe it... what do they need a live axle for? less traction? harsher ride? off roading!?? lol. anyway they must be stuck in the past of something. -
sewid and daioni, thankyou so much, now i have definite stuff to tell my sister i think the small stores/price thing applies in most countries it seems... ie if u go to harvey norman compared to a small computer store, the smaller one will aways have lower prices... service is another matter though
