  1. Hey so i've heard it from my tuner before, seen mention of it in street magazine and once more in motor (in reference to a new clubby they had on the dyno that put out 220rwkw) but couldnt find any topics on it New engines supposedly put out less power until they've "loosened up" whats the go with that? Is there more resistance and friction before they've been driven a few thousand k's or something? In general how much less power would you expect out of a freshly rebuilt rb compared to one rebuilt 2000 or 5000 k's ago? Cheers
  2. r these the same american company which has been making drag radials for the last 5 or so years?
  3. NO longer for sale, no interest, getting some stuff repaired, gonna drive it now, had 2 enquiries in like 5 months heh[/size]
  4. Yeh i'm a bit confused myself, hopefully the market will pick up again.. Price will be increased to 21500 again once paint is all 100% (front bar/lip (scratches), front RH quarter (little scratch) rear bumper (truck scratch) rear RH quarter up to roof/door (truck scratch) all getting resprayed, was going to fully respray car but the rest of the paint is in perfect condition so no point), minor tear on drivers seat will be fixed. Low price was due to xmas and current economics + the scratches which are getting fixed, cheers
  5. car in workshop, getting front back and back quarter resprayed, rest are already in vgc... back bumper was scratched by a truck bout 2 weeks ago, so thought i may as well spray any other scratched panel's while it's in.. paint will be perfect once this is done
  6. musics shit or it'd be amusing, http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=JVXR20Lk-_E is fair decent.. cos i mean that's pretty much what it is
  7. yo so since i got this car it's been hugely gutless (14 seconds to go from 80 to 100) and i knowing i'd have a car full of crap soon i was messing around trying to make it less slow. so i noticed that when i'm giving it throttle (even full stick) the second stage of the carby is not opening up at all, and doesnt seem to have any petrol running onto it i'm not sure if it's mechanical or vaccuum assist but either way it should be opening when i'm revving it stationary right.. So has anyone had any experience with these carbies? Most celica forums start at 85, or u need 15 posts to make a topic or you need a bigpond email addy etc.. and it's a pain in the arse it's a Ta22 1.6 litre, with some extractors and a zorst i dont know much about em and my old man isn't around so didnt want to pull it apart to find it needed something to put back together.. i am hoping it's mechanical and it's just a linkage problem cheers also from what i can tell there is one linkage at the bottom which does not do anything.. when i push it up it makes a sound like air and diaphragm movement, but doesnt get any stiffer or anything..
  8. ohh the vacuum assist.. hehe, might have to get that one checked by a mech, don't realy have the cashola for it at the mo so might have to wait, guessing it's part of the box? or is it under the bonnet? my old man might know
  9. ahh it does? ok i was hoping someone would say that, but then after reading about everyone elses hiss (mind you on stock clutches on shiet cars) i started to get paranoid hehe. I was just messing around with it and it's only while riding it hisses, so seems that checks out ok, cheers for that dude
  10. Just noticed that the clutch fork boot (which had been split but was still holding up alright) has been completely removed when it was getting the rebuild.. i was reading earlier about some high frequency vibration noise in that area, and i have a replacement boot, will try to fix it tonight provided i can figure out how to get the fork off so i can slip the boot on
  11. I've been looking around and really have no idea what it could be, the list of problems it could be include: - Could just be that it is a hydraulic clutch noise - Possible issues with the slave cylinder - bad clutch release bearing or clutch fork problem - IF the vehicle used a clutch vacuum assist, the booster being bad. - a main input shaft bearing, mainshaft bearings anyone got any suggestion on which is most likely on a gtr with a cushioned button clutch with 2000km's on it, no launches? i only really notice the noise a little bit on idle, more when i'm parking and need to ride the clutch a lil to get into my spot.. or is it normal?
  12. anyone? i'm assuming it's meant to sound like this but it can be pretty loud so i'm sorta wondering if theres something not 100%
  13. Love the way arguments always go back to spelling.. cos people who take the time to type properly are so superior n all
  14. Yeh i still haven't gotten the toll from that same night or any of those other nights down that way, i just dont want them to send me like $500 fine all at once, seems they suck this much with getting everyones fines out though so meh
  15. Blindelk can you recommend anyone in melbourne? The side of mine is torn where you get in, down on the side and i'm worried to just take it to any upholster because i want it colour/fabric matched (to look stock) sorry bout the hijack tricstar
  16. Yeh, wonder if they'd have outstanding balances on rego's available, chaddy's western suburbs right?
  17. kso still waiting on these, thats what 4 months now? Awesome, there must be a legal time limit on how long they have to send you invoices, this is spaz... Also i got an account, and now my login won't work.. i've checked the info they've sent me in the mail as well (and which i asked them to resend), same story, doesn't work, eastlink sucks hard
  18. Oh Yeh thats exactly the problem i had with my old car actually, um my speedo works fine, the odd thing is it doesnt fix after i restart it like it used to (old thing used to screw up every few mins, used to off and on it to fix as well).. also if i drive it for a while and then dry turn it it will be the same as if i just turned it on so it can't be the speedo/80kph thing.. got me very confused, cheers dude, anyone else got something to try?
  19. Just got my 32 back from the paint shop and the steering feels heavier to drive now now, quite a bit heavier, anything over 10 it's pretty noticably heavy.. it's like heavier than my other cars with no power steering, dry turning it it's fine which is odd, feels pretty light, the power steering fluid level is perfect and theres no warning lights.. also none of my belts have broken.. Could this be a HICAS thing? hope not, hate that crap
  20. yeh she fries em coming onto boost in 1st if it's in rwd mode, it's just that i cant ride my clutch at all and i need to dump it to get off the line, and 2k dump = way too low to get movin.. but i mean 6k clutch dumps in peak hour are a bit wack so i'll have to just learn to put up with being stuck behind buses hehe.. My val absolutely rules for getting up to 60/80 quickly, bit of squeal off the line and 1 gear, guess that's mainly what i'm comparing it to
  21. Not really, just taking off with like 2k revs like u would normally then flat footing it, just saying that if u take off without revving it up heaps it takes ages to get moving.. and most lagless cars will chew u.. i used to beat my mates s13 to 70 in my old rolla if he took off soft And nah not on a private track, on the street, didn't say anything about speeding though, speed limit is 100 on loads of roads
  22. :< *almost considers getting vista*
  23. hmm, I couldnt really see any options from memory that said Hi Def or buffering.. are there options besides the ones in Visual>Advanced that i've missed? am on XP so no dx10 coolness :< Maybe they're there and i'm tripping, guess i'll check tonight, think i lobbed everything to max
  24. Ohh that's alright then, good to know that it's the game not my pc being spaz, i did sorta get it running better, my friend to put a new sound card in and it's alot less laggy in parts, especially when theres talking going on Got this game last night, graphics are pretty good, also bought a xbox360 controller last night, soo much better for this kind of game (and GRID, wow xbox controller smashes keyboard lol) This games pretty cool, you can stomp the monsters when they're on the ground and like almost every body part will get broken off, it looks really good the graphics too and with all settings maxed on my pc theres no lag at all which is good.. Looking forward to playing tomb raider on xbox 360 cont.. gonna be so much better than keybrd and mouse
  25. Bump, getting the car resprayed, price is likely to go up to about 23,000 to compensate for the expensive spray job.. should help the car sell faster though, even with this recession thingo.. Mobile number is 0421654914 if anyone wants to call to have a chat
