  1. perhaps i should rephrase that....im sure the coating is tough as tiger poo.....but what about the adhesion of the two surface's
  2. This seems to be the problem on bike engines when they get a few klms on them....it will be interesting to see what happens with the new nissan engine when it starts getting commonly modified ....i cant imagine that stuff would take to kindly to detonation
  3. those pics you have posted look quite simple to replicate.....a gun metal base coat with a couple of coats of matt clear will produce what your after, matt clear makes the colour go milky(for a more durable result on flat or matte finish's we clear them with gloss clear first, then when its gone touch dry 2 light dust coats of matt clear) ....i run a motorcycle paint shop so we are used to using bright candy, flat, satin, mirror chrome, special effect colours.Im driving candy dyes/special effect colours almost every day so after a while you start to get an idea how to end up with almost any finish people want....thanks for the kind words
  4. i have a CNC machine here at work...we made the block using that and with the tube i machined down a bit of solid on the lathe and drilled a hole and welded a thread on the end....it took about 20 mins to make up....i could have threaded the block and and tapped the pipe as well as screw cut the thread for the hose on the lathe....but 20 mins is all i had
  5. or kawasaki electro fusion's process....i cant remember exactly how its done but i remember a tech story in an old dirt bike magazine years ago on how they insert an electrode into the bore and charge it which cause's it to explode and spray the walls of the cylinder...might also be something like that
  6. the dude on the left looks like the guy from that nismo place that used to be in sunshine
  7. you cant anodize cast properly.....you will need to get them stripped and polished, spray them with an adhesion promoter, dillute some candy dye in 2K clear and spray them...i did mine and they look like this
  8. It will be very similar to this bore coating
  9. Thanks...i did it myself
  10. i finished off with fine grit belts...takes forever to wash it all out....although im sure the grout sticks on well....id rather do it the old way just incase grout starts flaking off..the plugs are steel,i rather be changing them down the track than rusting out other bits
  11. Well its been sitting in bits since the keyway gave up the ghost about 4 years ago....Here it is going back together heres what its got: Ported head Trust plenum HKS 264 10mm lift cams/springs/gears HKS ex manifolds/dumps HKS rods,CARR rods bolts HKS pistons HKS 25/30's HKS head gasket ARP head studs Lightened Crank OS quad plate clutch Sard 720 injectors/trust fuel rails Ive just spent 3 days smoothing all the casting off the inlets/plenum and matching them all up nicely, ground all the cast marks out of the inside of the block for nice oil return....what a nut buster
  12. Thats awfully nice of them...they really are a bunch of turds
  13. Have you asked the dealer about these?I mean nissan have been spruking of back up ect.....I hope you dont take this the wrong way but id be drilling them over everything......The info from people on this has always been fantastic on all models,I just hope that you have or intend to drill them out on any info you need ...after all in there words....we are all fringe dwellers
