I've got tickets to Japan next March 23rd 2010 - for a little over a week. Can't wait. Never been before, but have wanted to go for ages. I am planning to go to Himije Castle, Hiroshima (maybe Miajima Island or Kinto Bridge), Kyoto, a bit of Osaka, maybe Kanazawa (samurai house, market and geisha streets), Asakusa (market), Akihabara (for electronics) and maybe Kashiwa. I wont to know if there happens to be any big car events on the calandar at this time that I can check out? Also, workshops or ANY other must see vehicular spots in the areas I am visiting? Please can anyone help? I am trying to lock in an itinerary now. Cheers.

Tomei Hicas Lock Kit
double overhead sun visors replied to SkyDragon's topic in Suspension, braking and tyres
I would go for one if you are making decent numbers. I think HICAS is a bit dangerious at speed & with wheel spin. I find it locked to be fairly predictable with the back end. But this depends on your suspension set up to start with including AWD v's RWD. RWD may be different, certianly think it helps with AWD I say, lock it. -
worthwhile checking your clutch 1st perhaps. Don't worry about a dog box yet tiger, a good dog box would be more expensive than what you paid for your car.

fine? depends. If cops came to the scene, could give neg driving to both drivers. If cops were ther & you were injured, they may ramp neg driving up to drive in a manner dangerous (inflicting harm or something). If no cops were at the scene, I seriously doubt any fine/penalty, other than insurance. If you were out cold & taken to the hospital, they would have taken your blood, as a matter of course if you are in a MVA. They should give you a vile sample too. Hope you haven't been drinking, as it could be you who has the explaining to do. Just glad nothing worse happened, though concussion is pretty f**ked up, & your memory just prior to the event may be gone, retrospective amnesia.

The Shoalhaven Motor & Lifestyle Expo is on again this year. This show keeps getting bigger & is one of the largest around on the South Coast. It is to raise money for sick kiddies for the annual Variety ‘Bush Bash’ rally. Location: Nowra, South Coast, Approximately 1Hr South of W’gong. Date: Sunday, 1st of June Entry Cost: $10 for participant or punter – Db or Show & Shine display. Have some ‘lines already coming, including my GTR. Would be good to get some more imports representing. An easy drive from Sydney. If you’re interested let me know in here so I can organise to extends the spots we have already reserved.

Dramas With Gtr
double overhead sun visors replied to slowGTR's topic in Forced Induction Performance
hard to say with that description. Weird that it's only in third. I'd be checking simple things like plugs for starters. Pull the plugs & have a look at 'em replace any suspect ones, or all of 'em if they haven't been done in a while, if oily or cooked then look further. Probably only something simple... You may be surprised how a fouled plug can make the GTR do some very odd things... -
Wat Clutch Do U Recommend
double overhead sun visors replied to STR8E180's topic in Drivetrain and transmission
best to contact the workshops. Never had a Jim Berry clutch, everyone raves about them thou. Expect the car to be off the raod a while while he rebuilds you other one. Has a twin plate NISMO & now a Exedy Twin in my GTR with 330Kw @ da wheels, NISMO bit like a bitch, hard & sharp, Exedy allows some slippage to easy away from stand stills on hills/load etc. Personally would recommend the Exedy -
A little late I know. But still putting out some info on the upcoming 'Shoalhaven Motor & Lifestyle' Expo - THIS WEEKEND @ NOWRA 2nd + 3rd of June. Car stuff on at Nowra Showground - Sunday 3rd of June. I had the only 'line there last year. Going with a local club SCCS (southcoastcarscene.com) with at least one other 'liner. Not really expecting anyone else to front up, last year I posted this up & no one else showed. But would be good to get some more imports there if possible. $5 per person, per car gets you entry to the showgrounds. No car movement by 9am. If you are in the area & interested a group of us from the 'gong & local area will be meeting up at Sth Macca's at 8am (this Sunday) to leave by 8:20am if you want to group together. No promises on the grouping, as the grounds fill up fast. vIt is a bit of a free for all on the day as far as parking goes.

Carbon Fibre Bonnet
double overhead sun visors replied to -=Tyson=-'s topic in Cosmetic, Styling & Respray
nope you need nothing! (edit) but the correct bolt holes.... -
I've got a few light scratch marks, hazing, swirl marks on my carbon firber bonnet – how do I get 'em off?? I usually just use a boat jell wash & shamey the carbon fibre bits. The rear wing is fine, but the bonnet has copped the odd stone & what not. I've used some Mequires Scratch-X & other cut/polishes but has made it worse in some sections. What should I use to get rid of these little swirl marks, scratches?? Any help would be much appreciated…

Yeh could be related, or may be not. Check your earth cable linkage from the engine & make sure it's all tight & in good nic.

first post & spot on the money...ended up proping the front end of the GTR up (edit: cause it was too much hassle to pull the prop shaft) & running it with the torque splitter sending everything to the rear. But as you said the front wheels still turned & it lost power at the rears due to the fronts free wheeling... Still screamed like a banshee thou... thanks to D_I_F for the youtube clip...

Please can someone help my mate keep his clear indicators from his GTR front bar? As I am about to steal his if I can’t find any of my own… So the orange front indicators – to be clear (see picy), without resorting to some dodgy heat & extract the orange plastic filter method, that I'll no doubt stuff & be left with a pile of orange goo… Any ideas where I can get ‘em? Thanks, DOSV…
