Interesting to note that ALL health funds share the costs of the most expensive claims under the current arrangement. Allegedly this is the reason it's so expensive regardless who you go with.
-
All seriousness 20k is a huge amount to lend man he really should have got some collateral or realized it was a horrible idea
-
Idiot. Only lend money you can afford not to get back. Trust no one.
-
Yeah i have zero faith in public im not anti private health cover im anti the forced down my throat nature of it lol
-
As I said I've really got no excuse and 100% no way would I go public for anything I have to get it im closing in on 30 anyways so I will .. I like to think I'm bullet proof! Failing that cash reserves would have to fill the gaps.. I just hate the whole setup of being forced into having it
-
So much this. ^^ Just to be clear I don't come from a rich family by any measure and have worked since forever heck as far back as washing cars for $2 when I was 10. I'm sure I sound harsh to a lot of people but I strongly believe in Australia the opportunities are there for everyone it's 90% laziness or poor decision making that leads to there crap situation and I don't think it's taxpayers responsibility to hand out money left and right. Pensioners, disabled etc obviously fine I just hate plebs
-
Despite my accountants pleas I don't have private health cover and I truly should my Medicare levy is about triple the standard due to my income but I'm lazy and personally find the forced private health cover bs i find it offensive that because of either my income or age I am penalized for not having something that the majority of the population aren't forced to have. My silent protest costs me thousands so yeh I'm the idiot. I'm with birds if you can't find $7 for your health i call bs. It's like two cups of coffee! And $2 is for the gp & $5 for a research fund to try find cures for horrible illness so I can't understand the issue
-
This. Those who can pay should & these low income earners etc who can afford smokes or alcohol (example) but not $7 I call bs. Yes there are needy and I'm not saying they should be denied but 98% of us can easily afford to pay to go to the doctor. Again I was pretty sure it was capped at X amount of visits which is fair enough.
-
Not on a throne mate but first of all how often do you go to the doctor? Second it's a professional who's studied for years to be an expert and your offended at the thought of paying to see them? You need to get your head checked. $7 is completely insignificant don't tell me people can't afford that. They are all important but i wouldn't consider welfare a pillar of society it's actually a drain on society and a hinderance to growth as so much money is wasted. The gp co payment was to benefit health the research fund is a brilliant idea..& education shouldn't be free why should your tax fund someone else's study interest free? If they ever pay it back... Big If to.... You can whinge and resist all you want but it's only a matter of time things have to change as its already unaffordable and it's only getting worse revenues are down across the board incase you hadn't noticed and we are a service based economy we barely make anything these days so it's a trend that's not going to reverse any time soon.

I'd say it's largely irrelevant libs are cooked. Don't think people are ready to accept the necessary budget tightening undoubtedly they'll wake up when it's too late. Not to mention memories are so short I mean the last labor gov was truly laughable you couldn't honestly credit them for achieving a single thing. It's a shame the good things that have been done by the libs have been completely ignored
-
If I remember correctly wasn't the doctor charge capped to a certain amount of visits? It may actually help reduce congestion at gps as people do rush down there for nothing alllll the time
-
Hecs debt should have interest on it why should the taxpayers fund it? It was a small tax rate anyway and it may help art students get serious. Setting fees etc I don't have a opinion either way but I strongly appose free money. I'd happily pay $100 for a doctor doesn't bother me at all, and taking it off privately funded surgical procedures wouldn't generate anywhere near enough revenue. Agree big business tax dodging is bs everyone should pay a fair share, but the reliance on the "rich" is ridiculous you could tax high income earners & corporations 70% still won't put a dint in the deficit. The budget measures shouldn't be getting blocked entirely with cooperation they could be made amicable for all.
-
The policy's to fix the budget have t been that bad.. Students should pay interest on hecs loans the loop holes and outstanding balance is ridiculous Paying $7 to see a doctor? No problem with that either Despite what labor and the greens want us to believe there simply isn't enough rich people / corporations to slug more taxes on to cover the bill. Middle & low income will always feel the pinch as they are the most dependent and largest tax base and as much as they whinge figures showed after rebates / deductions they were taking out more than they put in...
-
The jets thing is a lefty go to option to pick on libs the fact is they were allocated for like a decade ago.. And national security isn't a bad idea imo. you can't deny we are living in the age of entitlement and welfare and its completely unsustainable in its present state and set to only worsen. budget may not need fixing in the next two years but action needs taking now not when we are further down the drain with no way out
-
Marry Toby. ^^ wasn't pickin on ya man just a generic statement and it's sadly quite accurate young people have no idea about politics God half of them think when the government pays its like its the governments own money as if it's a income generating business not the people's money
-
This is the problem with younger generations they don't actually see the importance of who and how the country is run.. I blame the education system.
-
Labors was way more juicy. For extra lols they brought back the guy they axed in the first place Abbott might not be ideal but the public need to wake up to the need for budget cuts or we gonna end up like Greece. Heck Id take a labor gov provided they take some action to reverse the debt trend - but we know that'll never happen they are like women - spenders

yeah that is true 35s are under 100k but I think they are a different proposition got very high maintenance costs .. Not that a 34 won't cost money but the 35s got a lot of stuff that can go wrong and cost big $$$ Eh maybe I'll try find a 180sx to trash around a track in lol
-
The 40k gtrs all look a bit rough I reckon.. I thought 60k+ seemed a touch expensive but having said that they are selling in that range so guess there's a market for it
-
