  1. I sadly ended up selling my black hr31 gts-x to get a tow car and trailer - You do what you gotta do eh... Anyway some updates for the drift car - inside in metal primer Some of the guard work - Cusco cage dummy fitted, interior painted and both seats installed Sorry about the shitty pics they were taken at night.
  2. Hey I can answer a few questions as I sold this car to "lock to lock" The retractable mirrors still work, same with the electric windows. Suspension rear is bilsteins adjustable, front's is pedders shocks / springs (comfort) Hicas has been locked, but it did have it. The exhaust is a jap kakimoto one. Aircon is fine but needs regas, and yeah it's an 32 skyline loom. The engine transplant was done before it was painted in 2 pack jet black, in victoria, it's registered in SA with the newer silvertop rb20. I serviced it regularly with motul turbolite and this is one very nice car, a new exedy 5 puck ceramic clutch has just been put in too.
  3. Thanks for the positive feedback guys, yeah neither can I! haha. While I'm at it I thought I'd sneak in a few pics of my hr31 gts-x 2 door These pics are from when we were at Winton raceway for the skyline nationals this year.

  9. -Updates- Tried the 17x8 and 17x9 drifteks off my gts-x on it with 30 and 35mm bolt on's - yum. So being equipped with an rb20det, bit more boost, fmic, exhaust, coilovers, swaybars, minispooled diff, hydro etc - she saw the track for drift school for the first time. few vids - http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/dr...driftprac13.flv http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/dr...iftprac13-1.flv Then she hit track again at AIR vids- http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/dr...n0508.07014.flv http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/dr...ft_prac__ev.flv Daytime prac - 2 vids - http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/dr...nt=P1060113.flv http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/dr...rent=Evsr31.flv As she is now full mods consist of - 1988 R31 Skyline Exec, colour coded white, New front right / left guards, stripped interior with full CCS Bodykit and mfx front lip - converted from auto to manual rb20det silver top from an r32 - extreme hd clutch and blitz access ecu Auto Gauge - oil temp, water temp, boost gauges Just Jap fixed back race seat with 4 point TRS Harness Hydraulic handbrake with rear vs calipers and slotted rotors Minispooled 28 spline 3.8:9 ratio diff Whiteline swaybars front / rear with new noltec bushes 3rd's productions adjustable castor rods D2 a31 coilovers all round with s13 hubs, control arms, calipers / rotors Full service on the engine New battery, clamp, sandwich plate adapter for oil temp / water temp Work stich rims 17x7.75 and 17x8.75 r33 xforce 3" dump / front with custom 3" under diff zaust 35mm and 30mm bolt on spacers Bosch 040 fuel pump installed Oil catch can setup Turbotech controller on 14.7psi Whiteline strut brace New Avs rims 17x8 +24 17" pair of hack drift rims Car was dyno'd recently and made 176.6rwkw on around 1bar, was impressed as it hasn't been remapped yet. This was on the Boostworx dyno. And as she looks now - Future mods - Remap, 25 turbo, respray. yada yada yada. If you actually bothered to look at all of the write up, lots n lots of work has gone into it and countless hours, but damn its worth it. Cheers, Ev. to date - cost me $8,950.00
  10. yep - good internally gated and responsive turbo upgrade for an rb20det, keep in mind if u go to a .86 rear housing it'll be laggier than say a .64
  11. rb25, external gate T04 turbz etc.
  12. yeah I've decided that I'm pretty much going to go a TD06SH-20G 8cm, its not that I'm chasing massive figures, but purely that I want external gate. All i was asking was that if anyone knew if a GT30 71R came in external gate form as I've heard they are reasonably responsive on an rb20det with mild modifications. Internal gate has bored the hell out of me and its a pretty quiet car as it is, is it just me or does anyone else on here love the sound of an external gate? I mean you can get those split screamer / dumps but it just isn't the same. Yes I am quite aware of the penalties for such things. I'm not totally Turbo - illiterate, i know that a HKS 25/35 would be responsive and make good power all the same, but yeah was just looking at external gate, I have also changed turbo's before on rb20's and its not that harder task so im just summing up ideas.
  13. Hi All, Not meaning to start a seemingly useless thread but I got a genuine question. I'm looking at reasonably modding my rb20det silvertop (in my coupe hr31gtsx) I'll be chucking in a Bosch 040 fuel pump Higher flowing injectors z32AFM front mount custom plumbing already has 3" dump / exhaust high mount exhaust manifold with flange for external gate and having my inlet plenum modified to be forward facing going for a 5 puck exedy ceramic too, to handle some grunt. This is where I'm running into problems - I cant really decide on a reasonably responsive externally gated turbo for an rb20det. Does a GARRETT GT30/71R come externally gated at all? I was also looking at the possibility of a TD0620 Before anyone makes comments about why don't I go internally gated, well no i don't want to i love the sound of a screamer on an rb20det. Not sure if KKR offer the 430 externally gated? What I'm really looking for here is previous experience of other SAU members with rb20dets and bigger turbo's. Cheers guys, Ev.
  14. ill be drifting AIR this weekend cant wait, should be high speed. I missed out on PT G when it was on, wish it would come back ='( Motorkhanas are often held at the Monarto BIG-W carpark and are quite fun, they are organized through nissan datsun / MSCA etc.

    G1 22nd July

drumddict your contradicting yourself there, you say it was your first time but complaining about the judging? on another note - nice entries simon as always, and great speed.
  16. Few updates: Stock handbrake modified for hydro Whiteline swaybars front / rear R33 Xforce 3" Dump / Front pipe to go on when 3" under diff exhaust is made this friday. See whoever's going out on Sunday at Mallala.
  17. details on mallala.com Sunday 13th May Mallala.
  18. Who on here will be entering drift school? Just trying to get an idea.
  19. You will need lines to suit, second hand around $1250.00 for a decent one. And they are a t3 flange obviously. *edit* sheez that leans out fair hard towards peak power.......injectors would be loving it. That was with the remap I take it, without the remap they wouldnt be leaning out so hard?
  20. Yeah that is a nice output, mates car that I was talking about with 194rwkw feels real good.
  21. Cheers for clearing that up, thought the rear housing was smaller making it more responsive. Mates car is running a vg30 with more boost, exhaust, and no remap making 194rwkw on 1 bar, but thats a fair freak motor im thinking. I'll def go 25 in the future, been in one with a 25 turbs and didnt feel too laggy at all. As far as I know the oil feed / return and water feed / return line straight up? can anyone confirm this -_-
  22. Little update: Got an Xforce R33 front / dump pipe, and car will be going in to have its 3" exhaust into twin straight pipes done at aussie discount exhaust soon. Fitting minispool this week, as well as hydro and vs rear calipers, so shes almost ready!
  23. Just thinking of doing the same on my drift pig for a little extra oomph, cubes as well as the compressor wheel being bigger is the exhaust wheel bigger as well? id assume it is, and the housing looks to be bigger as well.....is an rb25 exhaust housing the same size as a vg? *edit* Mr Infms, not sure if you'd quite break 200rwkw with an rb25/vg30 but be close......id say around 192-196rwkw.....If you want around 215 or more go a HKS 25/30, minimal lag and a very responsive turbo, and can flow decent power.
