Hi Guys, Seen a few threads on here but really just wanted some clarification from the experts and I know that the GT3076R is quite a popular upgrade for an rb25. Looking at putting one on myself, but there's 2 different options. Apparently Garrett released a GT3076R part no (774067-5001) and it has a T04S 4" bellmouth comp housing, specs below - Turbo Family: GT30 Turbine Inducer: 60.0mm Compressor Inducer: 55.0mm Compressor Exducer: 76.0mm Compressor A/R: 0.70 Turbine A/R: 0.82 Bearing Type: Ball Bearing Bearing Cooling: Oil & Water Pic listed on their site for this particular turbo - And then there is the other Garrett option - GT3076R (aka HKS3037S) part no (700177-7) Turbo Family: GT30 Turbine Inducer: 60.00mm Compressor Inducer: 57.00mm Compressor Exducer: 76.2mm Compressor A/R: 0.60 Turbine A/R: 0.82 Bearing Type: Ball Bearing Bearing Cooling: Oil & Water Very slight variances apart from the 0.70 A/R compared to 0.60... I can get the first one for around 1650, and the one with the anti surge (700177-7) comp housing for about $300.00 more.. Going a .82 ext gate option, has anyone tried the first one? and results?

Link To Unusual Garrett "gt3076r" In 52 Comp Trim .
evsr31 replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Funny you found this, I have been speaking with a reputable garrett turbo wholesaler in South Aus and was talking about the Garrett GT3076R. They have 2 types that they sell, one is the GT3076R with anti surge compressor housing and .82 ext gate rear housing to suit, Trim is something like - 57 comp wheel, 55 turbine wheel. The other is pretty much the same turbo with the 4" bell mouth compressor housing like the GT30R, with .82 ext rear housing - trim is 54.97 comp wheel, 53 rear turbine wheel. Priced fairly differently, would there be an issue going with the GT3076R without the anti surge housing? all supporting mods looking for around 270-280rwkw. -

Rb25det R33 S1 Coil Or Ignition Loom
evsr31 replied to r33-d-rift's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Could go with an AU coilpack conversion mate? S1 AU Coilpack, plug from the AU coilpack, 6 HT leads to suit, with spark plug fittings on end. Ensures the coilpack is kept away from heat and leads are more reliable. Bit of a write up here - http://wiki.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?t...ersion_For_RB20 -
Err there must have been more in there before putting in the 1.5 litres, as oil had been lifted to the head... Highly doubt it would have caused any damage, as it did have some in it, before I put the 1.5 in, definitely enough for the oil pick up to catch. How can you say that before the engine gets hot that there will be huge amounts of heat and friction, yeah silly I know this but figured it would be safeish to run for a short period of time, very short obviously. I posted this thread to find out if it was typical of an rb25 to have top end noise when it hasn't been run for quite some time, not to get flamed, or have sarcastic / pessimistic replies, guess I can expect that from some on SAU.
-
Wasn't a good idea to run with 1.5 - 2 litres in the engine, just wanted to see if it started and only ran it for 30 seconds if that... which u can see in the vid. Tapping was just because it had been sitting around for a long time, and the head was dry, maybe a bit of air in the hydraulic lifters too... Dumped what was in there and filled her up tonight, no tapping, sounds brilliant.

Hi Guys, Just installed my series 1 rb25det last night, and wired it up, little bit of a background this engine was bought low k's from an importer wrecker and was auto its whole life, and hasn't been run for a long time I'm assuming. I've done every seal on the front end, as well as a gates timing belt, tensioner / idler bearing, and done rear main seal etc, had a forward facing plenum custom made and is securely fitted with gasket / sealant of course so no leaks there... Injectors are stock rb25 injectors, I've only been able to put in around 1.5 litres of oil to see if it would run briefly, but when started it makes this tapping noise coming from the head... I've looked at a few threads and think it could be a build up of air in the hydraulic lifters? Or could this be to do with me changing the timing belt and maybe the crank pulley is flopping around? doubtful though as its secure. It's really got me worried and countless hours have gone into this so hoping it's not the worst... Video of sound - http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m137/dr...nt=19052009.flv Also the ecu that was sold with the engine is buggered and wont ground to earth for the fuel pump to switch off, so I'm running my mates remapped rb20 ecu to suit rb25, which I was going to do anyway but still very frustrating. Found this sound on youtube and seems pretty much exactly the same... any insight would be greatly appreciated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrlJMbuTKJg Thanks.

good example, 2 of these are snapped, end pintle.

Hey all, Just a quick question in regards to rb25 injectors, I removed my fuel rail from the stock s1 rb25 inlet manifold to be fitting this up to a custom manifold I had made, and noticed that on cylinder number 2 injector, the pintle cap had 2 "teeth" or covers removed of four total. I've heard contradicting stories such as they do affect spray pattern and that they don't... and that they are to stop the injectors from getting dirty, and to stop fuel drying on the injector nozzles. Can someone please clarify whether this is going to be an issue to continue using as it is? as the injector is proving to be horrible in removing. Cheers, Ev.

So after blowing the gearbox I thought f**k this, and ripped it out. 25det to go in! I did some stuff tonight as it hasn't been so hot, removed the p/s rack, bushes were shagged! Cleaned the engine bay and removed about what I think is close to 1kg of dirt / grime / sand / rubber / crap from the cross-member. Stuff going in - Reconditioned rack (basically new) with lock spacers fitted nolathane rack bushes solid steering coupling from gktech. This combined with the rose jointed rack ends, should feel like new. Prep wash ftw. New steering in, reco'd rack, nolathane rack bushes, solid steering spacer, that mixed in with my rose jointed tie rod end junk should be sick! Pic of front end, after recovery! That's all folks for now, rb25det is being picked up this weekend!

Far out I should probably update this thread huh.. thanks for the kind words guys. Pics of straight pipes and camera mount before i went out to g1. painted pics and g1 drift Didn't have the best run of luck and it was definitely something else to try and get used to the car after all the changes. Few pics of it skidding at g1 mallala, made love to some tyres on a scando that i couldnt bring back, qualified 19th just out of the top 16 which i was happy with. First battle in I blew 3rd, not a very successful day but still had some fun. Pics of car Scando into turn 1 oops After hitting all those tyres I was feeling fairly dark for a while but was happy when I got skidding again. Reo has seen better days along with the front bar, but will get all type crash to fix up the front bar, and I'll just wack a new reo on... Few pics of how the car came up after some cut and polish, fine down the sides, just front bar needs to be repaired as well as the lip replaced / repaired. Showing the sus parts and mad wheel widths n stuff reo off

Hey Guys, As I'm selling my Patrol in the other thread I am also selling the car trailer I purchased to use, we towed with it to g1 and it does not sway at all, such a good trailer and very heavy duty. In 2003 the floor was redone, and in the last 12 months it has had, new axles, new brakes, and new tyres fitted. The ramps have been redone and are very heavy duty. is 16ft in lenght, and unsure of width, but fits my r31 Skyline with a fair bit of offset fairly easily. Features - Independent brakes, cable setup Handbrake Electronic Winch with hand controller Manual Winch Aftermarket tie down points Ramps are fitted onto flat bed so for ease of use Toolbox with 12v battery intergrated in Jerry can and holder LED taillights Think they are ford? 15" rims All great tread Load sharing suspension (wheels never come off the ground with bumps etc) Cannot go wrong with this trailer, not cheaply built like a lot of new trailers going in SA, I rang a few places and couldn't even come close to $6500.00 brand new for something like this. Price - $4500.00 Can include the nissan patrol as a package for $8800.00 Firm. Details in this thread - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sa...Gq-t245192.html Location - Adelaide Hills, SA. Make/Model: Nissan Patrol GQ (TI) Year: 1991 Kilometers: 350,000 odd Transmission type: 5 Speed Manual Engine: TB42 (4.2 Litre) Carby Straight 6 Torque! Colour: Black over silver Specs The goods - Dual battery setup for camping Electric windows and central locking New alt / coil and reco head Dual fuel gas / petrol (big gas tank!) Haymen reese tow bar (2500kg rating) cd player Electric mirrors Big bullbar Some aftermarket rims, tyres in alright condition New muffler radiator is fairly new New heater t-piece Electric antenna 7 seats with fold up back seat for heaps of space. Gas tank has a couple of years left on it, not long ago that it was fitted has all the 4wd stuff, 4wd low / high ratio, manual locking hubs etc. The bads - One of the electric mirrors backing plates is loose, needs replacing inside door trims have seen better days paint on outside is a bit faded, and a few rust spots but generally clean Brake line has a slight leak, got new one and will fit it / bleed brakes before selling Roadworthy Certificate: NA in SA Registered: Yes Accident History: None Asking Price: $4700.00 ONO Location: Adelaide Hills, SA Contact Details: PM or Ev on 0411748466 Other Comments: This is great as a tow car / 4wd adventure animal, just not what I'm after at the moment and I'm itching to get another import. I would keep it if I really needed a 4wd for going off road n the not, but I don't, so time she goes. Just put 3 months rego on the 4wd, very reliable and gearbox / clutch feel great, nice n fresh. Suspension is not sloppy at all and it's very comfortable to drive. No clunks or anything like that, nice n smooth, just outside condition could be a bit better, quick sale and grab a bargain guys! Do not want time wasters, only serious buyers please. Few pics - Thanks.

Looking good mate, and yeah nice power curve. Pitty about the burns, my car owes me far too much skin as well haha.
-
wheel colour pic, bright candy green, very glossy.
-
My head clears it fatz, it sits higher than the pics really show, and will definitely have padding on it. Car has been painted now, hasn't got the wheels on it as of yet but here's a few pics. Installed a malpassi FPR and had it tuned by jeff at the speed lab, made 210.2rwkw on safe AFR's. Mate has started extending the rear legs to suit the car Pics with wheels on soon.
-
Few updates - these photos were just taken unwashed, vents aren't in the front bar yet obviously. Don't know where I can mount the number plate now though without restricting a bit of flow to the cooler. Now for a comparison - this is what the front right guard looked like - And now looks like this - (Thanks to my lovely gf) Goes for paint at all type crash tomorrow.
-
Ah and a bit of inspiration, but my bonnet will be black, and brighter green wheels.

Took off my old possy standard turbo and put on the r33/vg30 one I bought Bare side of head, and turbo size comparison few pics of Top stage UMV bonnet vent installed chucked the extinguisher in too

Cleaned up the drivers side loom, all soldered and heat shrinked up. Looked like that - This is the bullshit i removed - you should have seen the main power feed for the battery off the fusible links, it was all melted in certain areas - disaster waiting to happen rly. N just a crappy pic of the loom running there now, still have to saddle it up so that it's held in place nicely but it's a lot better. Anyway updates, put everything back in today. Rose jointed adjustable tie rod ends with r31 - s13 adapters roll center adjusted ball joints in the s13 arms, with new super pro bushes machined rotors and new brake pads all cleaned up / painted crazy colours to match the wheel colour. shameless plug for the offsets Took it for a drive tonight, feels great but ghetto wheel alignment is making it pull to the right.
