Similar to NYTSKY I have visited japan. In my couple of short stays(2 weeks at a time) I have been blown away by the cleanliness/friendliness of the place. Obviously, as a car fan I visited many tuning shops and the TAS, which certainly was enjoyable. I also loved the food and the quirky things you see on a daily basis. I have also visited and enjoyed Mt Fuji/ Hakone and caught the shinkansen to Osaka for a few days. All great experiences. I would love to spend 12 months in Tokyo but not being able to speak the language is a major barrier. It is not too bad as a tourist because a lot of japs can understand a little english or you can point etc. However other than perhaps teaching english what can a foreigner do with regard to employment? In response to the title of the thread, I would say that my motivation to come over for an extended stay is to enjoy the massive cultural difference and to feed my addiction to high performance japanese machinery.

Lol at this thread... 1. You will always hunger for more power. I am a little bored with 326kw at wheels now myself. 2. I have had tunes done by shaun, martin and john keen at southern hi tech dyno. All were good but I have been super happy with johns work. Recommend him highly.

Tangles that sounds good and I agree that strath/meadows would be great, but it simply wouldnt work if it is to be our motorsport hub. No public transport/ public access roads that are dismal to say the least.(well... good for a thrash), but I reckon garden Island would be awesome. Hell... anything new in Adelaide would be awesome!

hey guys, we are staying at sakura hotel jimbocho.... probly going to daikoku futo on sat night....trying to sus out transport at this point. Any suggestions?

There will be nine of us from Adelaide goin to the TAS on the friday, and probly daikoku on sat night... anybody know if you can get minibus hire like the taxis we have in aus?? We will be wearing SAU shirts... look out for us.

I saw sets for 1300-1500 when I was there for TAS '07, so its possible for sure.
