Hi colin.scc with a 1998 (but registered 2000) R34 GT 4door and a tiptronic n/a engine. Make yourself at home......just don't touch anything

Your talking about the hydroxycut pills, not the nitric oxide ones aren't you. I took mine as directed.
-
Energy drinks are more worse for you than regular softdrinks. They do squat for me too.

There was 180 tablets, I took probably almost half of them then gave it up. Your body needs the sleep for repairs, better off sleeping than pushing the extra rep at the gym.

Yeah that's an awesome idea, then I wouldn't have to worry about aerosols exploding at all. -
haha that 323 rocks

I tried nitric oxide tablets to increase blood and oxygen flow. It gives you that extra push similar to creatine without the bloat. They worked nicely, but dayam talk about sleep deprivation. These pills whenever I took them would keep you awake at night, no matter how tired or physically drained you were would not let me sleep. So the scenario goes, take 3 tablets in the morning, and 3 before you train which was around 6pm for me. Blast yourself at the gym and come home dead tired. Hit the hay.....get absolutely no sleep at all and go to work in the morning tired and walk around like a zombie. I would only take the tablets on my training days as it only worked while it was in your system. On the off days I slept awesome. I even did some testing as to when I took them during the day, it didn't help. Stopped taking them and I can sleep like a baby again. I checked on the internet for side effects and sleep deprivation was a very minor or not even mentioned effect. Maybe I was a minority. Anyone tried tribulus terrestris? So far I've just been a regular whey powder user.

The coppers you should use would be BCPR6E. They're heat range 6 and pre-gapped to .8mm which is what you want. The only downside is that you'll have to change them out about every 10thou. If you go Iridiums, get the same, heat range 6 and pre-gapped to .8mm because you shouldn't re-gap iridiums as it takes the coating off and shortens their life dramatically. So don't buy the 1.1mm iridium. Iridiums are good for low servicing periods. But some will say just use coppers. I've found my iridiums to be fine so far (at least 35thou now). But if plugs don't fix your problem.....looks like coilpacks will need to be changed.

Yeah I do have a 33. When I bought the exhaust it came with a centre oval resonator, which I removed. So yes one will fit. But if you've got an oval resonator under there already, it might be a tight fit to get another one under there... -

The centre oval resonator/muffler will cut out the most noise. But also if you get a decent flowing oval rear muffler that will help a lot to reduce noise. I removed my centre oval resonator (xforce system also) for clearance because is hung to low after I lowered the car. At the same time the car was pretty quiet with it fitted, but after it was removed it was a fair bit louder but doesn't seem to be overly loud in my case. If you've got noise issues and your lacking space underneath your car for the exhaust, maybe you should inquire about getting a hotdog (one of those long tubular resonators) and getting a decent oval rear muffler. I hear Magna Flow make decent flowing rear mufflers, these also steer away from having the regular cannon look. From what your saying though, you've already got a centre resonator, an oval one. That should be adequate to cut down noise, is it still too loud is it? If so maybe look into just the rear muff as I mentioned above. -

No. Your cat will cut out some noise, but not much. The resonator will cut out the most and cannon only a little. -

I hear those rear quarter windows are the pig to change... -
not sure if its the same on 34 '25's, but on the rear of the plenum there's a small rubber hose that leads to a little black box. That black box is the boost pressure sensor/sender unit.

Need more info. eg, mod list and possibly things you have changed recently.

well, i've got 140K on my clock.....and I very much doubt they're true kms. I'd expect the japs to have lopped a 100 thou off. So guessing its done more like 240 thou and it still runs a dream....bar the coilpacks. Service it, drive it, and your set.

(I keep this saved because I couldn't be bothered to write it up everytime someone asks how to find a leak in the intake.) 1. take your pod and AFM off. 2. use a baked bean can (full) and put it into your rubber intake pipe (assuming its still the stock one). 3. tighten up the hose clamp onto the tin creating a seal. 4. Open the throttle body with a brick on the accelerator pedal. 5. take a hose that is plumbed into your intake between the turbo and the plenum or off the plenum itself. 6. Get an air compressor and pressurize the system through the hose and get someone to read the psi on the boost gauge. you only need about 5psi. you can use the compressors at the servos. 7. Listen for a leak. And use the soapy water in the spray bottle to find exactly where it is if need be. It is easier to find a boost or pressure leak using this method because the car is not running and is easier to hear and locate.

From what I can understand from that statement, the oil is just to help prevent moisture making its way down to the plug and shorting out the coilpack......no? I don't think this maintenance is going to stop age taking it's toll on the coilpack itself.

I've found it to be a pretty stable OS. I think that the many people that have put their time and effort into it have done a pretty good job to create something that rivals windows and you don't even have to pay for it.

that's cos your SS is a VN dude. That model never did really grow on me.....ever (no offence intended). -
I hated it in the past, but I think the distro's lately have been getting up there. I've done the Live CD and loaded a copy onto a 8g USB drive so I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 off that so I don't have to partition my laptops HD. I'm actually impressed with the way it performs and the ease of use. It does have it differences from XP/Vista, but I think it has the potential to be a powerful OS. And the best part of it is it's all free. The different distro's are free and all the available programs are free......I'm not going to complain about that. I know you don't get the same standard of program availability that you get with windows. But it's got most if not all bases covered with it's own software support. I think the biggest thing that holds a lot of people back is its lack of computer games available for it. I'm impressed to what the different Linux distro's have grown to, and even visually it's not boring, but I'm still not going to be removing my XP installation to put this one over it. The fact that I can run both is good enough. So who else has used it? Thoughts of those that don't like it?

COM needs to go to the wastegate, NC needs to receive a pressure source, NO goes to nothing so leave it blank. Use the NO port for actuator setups, Use the NC port for external wastegate setups. I'm sure you've read that already though. Ummm, turn your limiter off altogether, which is switched off from factory anyway. I'm thinking you may have to check your wastegate. From what your explaining it sounds like its stuck open and bypassing exhaust therefore not producing the boost you want. Well that's all i can think of if it's boosting under the spring pressure. And in theory if this was the case, any boost controller would have trouble to hit your desired boost, which is strange because you say the MBC's were ok......that baffles me. Do a couple of swaps. If it was me: Plumb a pressure line directly to the wastegate and see what it boosts to. Hook up a MBC and see what it boosts to. Reconnect the prefec B and see what boost you can set. I don't know if any of that is going to work, you've probably already tried all that.
